Chapter 328: 328
Chapter 328: Galactic Spacecraft, Ten Thousand Greater Demons
The Mount Shu Sect had been established 5,000 years ago. For thousands of years, its disciples had always taken the task of eliminating demons as a duty as they protected the common people and safeguarded the righteous path of the world.
Over the last 5,000 years, countless greater demons had been imprisoned inside the Demon-Sealing Tower. After so long, no one knew how many greater demons were imprisoned in the tower at this point!
Originally, the Demon-Sealing Tower had been calm and fine. However, a hundred years ago, the tower started to experience violent shakes, showing signs of collapse.
As the current Grand Master of Mount Shu Sect, Changmei was responsible for guarding the Demon-Sealing Tower, and he knew exactly what it meant should the tower collapse.
He wanted to stop it, but he was powerless. The Demon-Sealing Tower was the Mount Shu Sect’s immortal artifact, and he only had the authority to trap and imprison demons. Aside from that, he knew nothing of the tower.
Moreover, locked inside the tower were numerous greater demons, and Changmei dared not act rashly!
In desperation, he came to Ling Jiu, hoping that Ling Jiu could help him suppress the Demon-Sealing Tower, and reinforce the tower’s seal.
As for destroying the greater demons inside it, Changmei had never even considered it because it was impossible!
“My friend, the matter of the Demon-Sealing Tower is a matter of life and death for all. You have to help with this! If the tower collapses, the demons within will break free, and unimaginable catastrophe will then befall mankind!” Changmei said seriously.
Ling Jiu agreed without much hesitation. He was worried about not being able to find a supergalactic lifeform to practice his Eight Methods of Black Hole Evolution. Now that he had heard about the Demon-Sealing Tower holding uncountable powerful demons, he was naturally willing to go. They were the best nourishment for the Eight Methods of Black Hole Evolution!
“Changmei, come and join us for a meal. Once we’re done, we’ll head to your sect grounds to have a look at this tower!” Ling Jiu said with a smile.
“Thank you!”
After lunch, Ling Jiu and Changmei left for Mount Shu. Bai Ya, Ling’er, and Xiaotong were clamoring to go, so they followed as well.
Mount Shu was indeed worthy of its name as an immortal mountain. Not only was it beautiful and picturesque, but it also had an extremely developed ecology. Lush verdant trees and plants abounded.
Throughout the mountains and forests, wild beasts roared, and pandas bounced about as elk scampered, giving off an aura of primordial nature.
Between the lofty mountains, a square-shaped peak that resembled a table came into view. From a distance, Mount Shu really looked like a table.
It was surrounded by cliffs that were very regular in shape as if they had been carved out by a sword.
“This is indeed an auspicious ground!”
Looking at the beautiful scenery of Mount Shu, Ling Jiu could not help but admire it. He had seen countless planets and countless beautiful sceneries. Even when placed alongside the many planets, this place would still rank among the top.

Changmei proudly said, “The Mount Shu Sect has been the leader of the divine land’s 72 immortal sects for 5,000 years, and it has been sitting alone at the peak, so it is naturally an unparalleled auspicious ground!”
Ling Jiu nodded slightly. Besides the beautiful scenery, there were also Direbeasts!
There were Class 6 and Class 7 Direbeasts everywhere, as well as Class 8 and Class 9 ones. To ordinary people, this place was undoubtedly fatal.
However, to supergalactic beings like Changmei, the Direbeasts around Mount Shu were equivalent to pets in captivity.
The group arrived on Mount Shu, and a huge complex of buildings came into view.
It was thousands of yards from front to back, with palaces, pavilions, monasteries, corridors, courtyards, and cornices…
However, the entire building complex was obviously ancient. Many of the courtyards were covered in weeds, the buildings were dilapidated, and the walls were covered in weeds as well as wormwood, showing the vestiges of time. Only a few courtyards toward the front were very well-maintained and clean.
There were telegraph poles and network cables in the courtyard, and it seemed like Changmei knew how to surf the web.
Also, there was a young Daoist boy about eleven or twelve years old in the front yard. He was dressed in simple Daoist robes and was chopping wood.
The boy looked very handsome at his age, and he was really strong. He swung an ax that was one head taller than him as he chopped wood.
His ax came slashing down and a thick log was instantly split into two. With just a few hits, the log was reduced into firewood with the thickness of an arm.
“This boy has good aptitude. Already a Level 9 Arcanist at such a young age. His future will be very bright.” Ling Jiu could not help but praise.
“He was an abandoned infant I picked up at the foot of the mountain ten years ago. Taking pity of him, I took him in and raised him. I then realized that he had good aptitude, and so took him under my wing, and I plan to pass on my mantle to him, so he may keep the flames of Mount Shu burning.”
Changmei said with a smile, as he looked at the young Daoist boy with doting eyes.
“You have sharp eyes.”
Ling Jiu smiled and gave a compliment.
After that, the group contined and soon arrived at the hind mountains of Mount Shu, and they saw a skyscraping tower from afar.
The huge tower stood on top of the mountain like a lighthouse, looking distant and cold. It was about 200 meters tall, and occupied the land close to the size of two basketball courts.
The tower was precipitated with the vestiges of time, its surface covered with moss and lichen, showing a gray and black hue, as it had clearly went through the vicissitudes of time, and experienced countless of years of being exposed to the elements.
“My friend, is this the Demon-sealing Tower?” Ling Jiu asked curiously.
“That’s right, this is the Demon-sealing Tower, an unparalleled immortal artifact of the Mount Shu Sect!” Changmei nodded slightly.

“Ling Jiu, have you noticed it?”
Leoux’s voice suddenly rang out.
“Notice what?” Ling Jiu asked.
“The Demon-sealing Tower before us is obviously made out of high-grade alloys. If I’m not wrong, this tower is probably a very high-tech object, or rather, a spaceship!” Leoux went straight to the point.
“A spaceship?”
Ling Jiu was taken aback. “The Demon-sealing Tower is something from 5,000 years ago. How can it be a spaceship?”
In Ling Jiu’s view, since the tower was something from 5,000 years ago, it should have been created by the elders of Mount Shu back then.
A spaceship?
That’s… improbable?
“This is a spaceship alright!”
Leoux quickly scanned it, and after a short while, the results had came out:
“The metal used to cast this tower is a Fourth-Grade Cosmic Alloy, and is obviously from a Grand Unified Civilization, definitely not something from Earth.”
“So it is a spaceship!”
Ling Jiu had seen his fair share of spaceships. He then walked to the Demon-sealing Tower and gently wiped off the moss on the surface of the tower with his hands, revealing the black tower.
The tower’s body was smooth and unsullied, and was extremely tough. A chill passed through his fingers, and caused Ling Jiu to be surprised. He had used some strength when he pressed, yet it was not damaged. The tougness of the tower was clearly beyond the scope of a supergalactic lifeform.
Changmei pointed to the tower and sighed. “The Demon-sealing Tower had been standing here since 5,000 years ago, and had stood tall since.”
“However, in recent years, the tower had been shaking for no reason, and there were some cracks appearing on the surface, leaking out demonic energies from time to time. I’m worried that this tower may not hold for much longer.”
Ling Jiu looked carefully and found that there were cracks and fissures all over the surface of the tower. Although they were blocked by grim and moss, they were indeed cracks.
This chapter is scrapped from readlightnovel.org
If one were to sense carefully, there was a constant overflowing of terrifying aura from the fissures, causing fear to everyone.
“Leoux, is this really a ship of a Grand Unified civilization? Why are there cracks?” Ling Jiu asked doubt.
The civilization of the universe can be divided into planetary civilization, stellar civilization, galactic civilization, supergalactic civilization, Grand unified civilization, and Perfect Unified Civilization.
Once reaching the status of a Grand Unification Civilization, all alloys manufactured are considered Fourth-Grade Cosmic Alloys, which were almost indestructible, and even the passage of time could not cause them to decay.
So, why were there cracks?
“A spaceship of a Grand Unified civilization would not be so easily damaged of course, even when exposed to the elements for a hundred thousand years, it will not changed, much less only five thousand years here?”
Leoux smiled and said. “There’s only one possibility to destroy a spaceship of this type, that is it had suffered a fierce attack.”
“And the attack had exceeded the limit a fourth-grade cosmic alloy could withstand, so cracks had appeared.”
Ling Jiu nodded. “There’s only this possibility. That is to say, it’s the greater demons inside the tower attacking it?”
“It must be so!”
Leoux said. “Elder Changmei had been guarding Mount Shu all this while. With him at guard, the attack cannot come from outside, and only from the inside.”
“In other words, the lifeforms held inside the tower is constantly attacking it, trying to break free.”
“Leoux, what should we do next?” Ling Jiu asked.
“What else, fight your way in.”
Leoux said without hesitation. “There are about ten thousand Direbeasts locked inside this spacecraft. All of them supergalactic lifeforms. These are all excellent nourishment. Their bodies can be converted into life energies, and their souls into dark psionic energies.”
“If you were to devour their souls, your Soul Nebula will reach an unprecedented level, and you can continue to cultivate the second level of the Eight Methods of Black Hole Evolution.”
Ling Jiu nodded repeatedly, and then said to Changmei, Bai Ya and the rest. “Wait for me here, I’ll go in to have a look.”
“Have a look?”
Changmei was taken aback and immediately stopped him. “Please, no!”
“Countless great demons are held inside the tower, and many of them are ancient beings of devastation from 5,000 years ago! They are extremely powerful! If you were to enter rashly, your life might be in danger!”
Bai Ya, Ling’er and Xiaotong too had originally wanted to go in to have a look. They were confident in Ling Jiu’s strength, but after hearing Changmei’s words, all three now hesitated.
“Ling Jiu, let’s not go in, it’s too dangerous inside!”
“Yeah, brother…”
“No matter!”
Ling Jiu waved his hand and showed a confident look. “I’ve already probed the place, this tower imprisons over ten thousand supergalactic lifeforms.”
“Although they are powerful, they pose no threat to me!”
“More than ten thousand supergalactic lifeforms!”
The expressions of Bai Ya and the others changed drastically. “How could there be so many of them?”
Although Changmei lived in Mount Shu all year round in seclusion, it did not mean he was ignorant about the outside world. He too surfed the Internet and watched live broadcasts, and even have a username called God’s Perspective.
So, Changmei too knows about what stellar, galactic and supergalactic lifeforms meant.
A look of horror appeared on Changmei’s face. “For the tower to hold so many powerful demons, it’s incredible!”
“However, according to the Records of Demon Sealing left by my master, there were definitely more than ten thousand great demons inside the tower.”
“More than ten thousand? But I clearly detected that only ten thousand supergalactic lifeforms were left inside the tower.”
Ling Jiu said truthfully, he believed that Leoux would not be wrong with its scans, nor would there be mistakes.
“It should be them killing one another causing their numbers to drop sharply.”
Leoux explained. “This spaceship is completely isolated from the outside world. There’s no energy supply inside, and it’s just a huge cage.”
“The Direbeast sealed inside will definitely kill one another, and cannibalize each other. All of the weaker ones had been killed, so only ten thousand supergalactic lifeforms were left.”
“Makes sense.”

NEVER SPLIT THE PARTY: The Adventures of The Creeping Bam (BOOK ONE: The Job)
TAO is a broken world held together with nothing but magic and the will of the gods who protect it and its people. Then thousand years ago THE SUNDERING struck and Tao was almost torn apart by a terrible magical cataclysm which resulted in the planet almost being halted in its journey through the cosmos. It took all the power the gods of Tao could muster to restore its orbit and set it turning again, but in their efforts it was forever changed – its axis was drastically altered, and it now spins in such a way that one face of the world is forever turned from the sun it orbits, leaving half the planet in perpetual darkness. The various humanoid races that survived and now thrive within the habitable parts of THE DAY LANDS have come to live in perpetual fear of what lives beyond THE BORDERLANDS that separate them from whatever dwells within THE NIGHT LANDS, but for ten millennia it has kept its secrets. The land of RUNDAO languishes under the rule of their warlike Northern neighbours, the TEKTEHRAN EMPIRE, while a small, ragtag band of motley adventurers ply their mercenary trade fighting monsters and protecting the common man from the various dangers that haunt the night and prowl the hinterlands on the edges of civilization. THE CREEPING BAM have amassed a modest reputation in their years together, but they’re still just a small-time party of sellswords, thieves, outcasts and mages. They’re also exactly the kind of underdogs the people of Tao doesn’t yet realise are needed to save the world from the encroaching darkness they doesn’t even know is coming … This is a love letter and homage to the high-fantasy worlds of the tabletop RPGs like Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder and Warhammer and the sword & sorcery cinema and literature I fell in love with as a kid growing up in the 80s, from Robert E. Howard’s Conan the Barbarian (and the awesome Schwarzenegger movie, STILL my favourite fantasy film EVER), The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit and Ron Howard and George Lucas’ Willow, to the more grown-up and edgy worlds of grimdark masters George RR Martin and (my all-time favourite) Joe Abercrombie, as well as a BIG DOLLOP of Terry Pratchett’s immortal Discworld series. IMPORTANT: This story contains material which some readers may consider to be mature, such as battle violence, some strong language and occasional mild sexual scenes. If this is not your kind of thing, this story is not for you. I am also serializing this story on Tumblr, Wattpad, Quotev and Sweek.
