Black Tech Internet Cafe System Chapter 198 – Some people are making trouble
Translator: Noodletown Translations Editor: Noodletown Translations
“An entire force gave up together…” The old man murmured to himself, “Such a thing has never happened in the last 1,000 years.”
After all, the Wuwei Daoist Alliance is a large cultivation force. Since Dajin has no wars going on and didn’t discover any mystical places that they need to explore at the risk of their lives, how come no cultivators want to come to the conference? It is impossible!
“This is a serious issue. If there is anyone who is trying to make trouble for the Cultivation Realm Conference, we can never let it pass!”
“Master, you summoned me. What happened?” At this moment, a white-clothed young man with sharp eyebrows and bright eyes walked over.
Like Lu Wu, this young man looked to be in his twenties, but his behavior and temperament oozed an indescribable sense of vicissitude.
He was wearing a white robe, he had a diamond-shaped mark as big as a rice grain between his eyebrows.
The young man narrowed his eyes as if he had always been meditating. He slowly opened his eyes when he came to the old man, and the shocking light emitting from his eyes was so bright that it lit up the stone room.
The people with unstable minds would be dazzled by this intense light and submit to him without a fight!
“Well. Good.” The old man nodded. “Take a trip to Dajin.”
…
“How come I rarely see Senior Nalan recently?” An Cheng and the others walked into the internet cafe and glanced at the small blackboard. “Act V is released?”
Bu Che also complained, “I’ve been waiting for the senior to begin the new act! I can’t even see him now!”

“The shop owner is playing Act V now!” An Cheng saw Fang Qi in one glance. “Let’s go and watch him play!”
At his moment, Fang Qi took back a large light-blue shield from the barbarian blacksmith.
When he clicked on the item, they exclaimed, “Sir! Four sockets?!”
“The most you can get is three sockets, right?!”
“What’s this?! The shop owner got good items again?!” Hearing An Cheng’s shout, many people looked over.
“My God! You’re playing Act V now?!” Ji Yang hadn’t finished Act II yet, and he looked at Fang Qi with envy.
“Sir, what are you going to do with this four-socket shield?” As an experienced player of Diablo, An Cheng knew that Fang Qi was going to make runewords when he saw the grey item with sockets.
“To make a Spirit Shield,” Fang Qi answered; the Ancient’s Pledge could no longer satisfy his needs.
The viewers watched Fang Qi put the runes into the sockets.
“Plus two levels to all skills?!” An Cheng and the others were stupefied after seeing the first bonus.
“250% defense against long-range attacks?!”
“Additional resistance to all elements?!”
Everyone stared at the screen and didn’t know what to say.
“Sir, are you going to take on Diablo alone?” Ji Yang clicked his tongue.
“Nonsense! He killed Diablo long ago!” An Cheng said, “Diablo is in Act IV.”
“How come Diablo is in Act IV?” Ji Yang looked confused. “I don’t understand this plot.”
“It’s okay!” An Cheng said with a smile, “I recommend that you read the official novel of Diablo written by Ms. Shen! Now, the second volume has been published!”
Diablo’s plot wasn’t complicated. The Dark Wanderer, whose body had been taken by Diablo, wanted to revive himself and had released Mephisto and Baal, two big lords of hell. The elites of all classes chased after the Dark Wanderer but were always one step late, so they had to fight with several bosses.

Finally, Mephisto and Diablo’s soulstones were destroyed at the Hellforge, and Baal led its army of demons and occupied the center of the world, Worldstone Keep, and Worldstone Chamber.
[TL Note: If we are not wrong, only Mephisto’s soulstone was destroyed at the Hellforge, and Diablo was directly killed by the player. The author might have made an error.]
The story about Baal was added to the original version.
…
– Meanwhile in the region of the headquarters of the Wuwei Alliance that belonged to the Blue Flame Faction –
“Senior Brother, I must study the runewords and the blood-refining method, so leave me alone. I’ll go to the internet cafe myself…”
“I thought you were studying the scientific approach to making artifacts!” Lan Mo was speechless at the change of events.
“Haoran complained that the runewords are too profound for him and asked me for help!” Jun Yangzi said, “As for the scientific approach to making artifacts, that kid has gained some progress, and I don’t want to get involved now.
“Okay! Okay! After I study the so-called enchantment recipes…” In the artifact-making room, Jun Yangzi was soaked in sweat. “This method is so weird.”
“Are you going or not?”
“I’ll go later!” Jun Yangzi said impatiently.
“Then, I’ll go now!” Lan Mo said, “I must go there to study Tai Chi Mystic Pure Dao and the sword control technique. I can’t wait for you!”
“Go! Go!”
“Great! I’ll go and watch the TV series!” Lan Mo chuckled and strode out of Wuwei Daoist Alliance with his hands clasped behind his back.
In the artifact making room, Jun Yangzi watched the changes in a grey spiritual sword carefully.
“However, compared with the scientific approach, this method is closer to my style. Well, I’m really confused by the Periodic Table of the Elements, reaction formulas, and trigonometric function!”
…
– In a luxurious estate on the edge of the Jiangnan Region –
Ji Wuyou was sitting with a straight posture, and two rows of people sat on both sides of him. If An Huwei or the other aristocrats in Jiangnan were present, they would recognize that the man sitting on Ji Wuyou’s left was Shangguan Yuan, the head of the No. 2 Shangguan Family in Jiangnan, right after the No. 1 Nalan Family! Wearing a dark grey robe with star patterns, he had a short beard, thick eyebrows, narrow eyes, and fierce eyes.
The guys sitting next to Shangguan Yuan were masters with powerful auras.
The dark figure who had been hiding in the dark now stood behind Ji Wuyou.
He was a middle-aged man in black, and he emitted a gloomy presence.
Ji Wuyou said, “I got the news from the Nalan Family that Nalan Hongwu went on a trip a few days ago, and the destination seems to be Sky Prison Mountain in the north! This gives us a perfect opportunity!”
“Nalan Hongwu and the Nalan Family are now separated,” Ji Wuyou said, “I think you’ve waited for this day for a long time!”
“This is a great opportunity to take down the Nalan Family!” Ji Wuyou studied the people present as he continued, “From now on, you don’t have to submit to the Nalan Family anymore. From now on, you will become the master of this beautiful and rich land! From now on, there will be no one with the family name ‘Nalan’!”

Rise of the Desolate Star
“The soul is a sword. The body its sheath. Adversity is the hammer, while courage is the anvil. Oh, and son? Your tears and snot, they’re just the sparks that chip away at the impurities, like dungflies off a sow’s arse.” - Kendric Farrow Ever since he could remember, young Skyle Farrow’s body and mind have been hammered relentlessly like red-hot steel against the anvil of adversity under the watchful eyes of his father. All the while, Skyle’s heart and soul have been nurtured by the enduring warmth of his loving mother. Skyle has always asked why a simple farmboy would have need for all manner of skills like hand-to-hand combat, wilderness tracking, archery, beast taming, geography, history, politics, and even embroidery! The one vital question remains unasked, however: just what are his parents preparing him for? The invasion of a demonic horde? The advent of an age of war and endless bloodshed? The dark legacy of an ancient mystical power? A desperate struggle to save the lives of those he holds dear? The end of the world? It is a good thing he never asked these questions, for the answer would have been yes - to all of them. Now Skyle must take his first steps beyond the sheltered world he has known. He has been raised strong, but is he strong enough? Welcome to a tale of friendship, love, loss and heartbreak. It chronicles the growth of a young boy into a legend whose path will shatter the very foundations of the world. Expect a rich, detailed world with vivid characters. Each will pursue their own complex agendas due to realistic motivations. Luck And Chronomancy
Time Magic is the best magic as everyone knows, although there are lots of unique Talents in the world. Most people only remember Haste because it is hard to get to higher Phases of Chronomancy. That is still enough to make the Talent iconic. A lucky enough Aleatory Talent can position you for greatness or leave you languishing in obscurity. The only true equality in the world is when that glowing message pops up at 8 years old. Even if it doesn't activate until you are an adult at 16 you still know. Sure you can find a new dungeon spawn and get another chance at a rare Talent, even this one, but you have to already be ready to delve into the *Far Wilds*, which is far easier with wealth or family power. This is the story of where my good fortune took me and the difference it made, even among a party of 7 others including an Arcanist. It is a journey of magic and monsters but also math, which some think is actually worse. Luckily I was born with Intelligence and Focus as my personal traits, and my parents were scholars. Of course Chronomancy can also be a frontline combat talent. Versitility well beyond other Elder Talents like Gravity, Abstraction, or Arcana. Might could have worked for me, too. I also met a runaway princess. All the best adventures have a princess. She hated being a noble and we didn't get married but it still counts. Besides she really filled out our front line. All that Leadership training came in handy. I still don't know where she's from. Who cares? How well Haste goes with giant hammers is what's important. I never learned much about anyone in the party, except the one I grew up with. I'm not a people person. I just wanted to optimize dungeon clearing time. *******Story Details******* No romance, politics, or traumatizing content, slice of life, or even dialogue. 1st person narration, like a guide/adventure log. 2000-7000 words a day, maybe 40-60% rpgish combat log with some reasoning on combat decisions, with the rest character Talent discussion and progression stuff. 8 person party with a decent variety in roles. Party members usually have 2 primary functions. Told from the support/control Chronomancer's perspective. Each party member will have 6 Basic/Background Traits, then 3 actual Talents with abilities. Capstone from their Educational Institution, Arbritrary as a gift from the temples, and Aleatory which is decided at birth, revealed at 8, and activated after adulthood at 16. Aleatory Traits ignore requirements and are random why is why they are so important. They'll gain new Talents from finding Dungeons to consume in the *Wilds*. Mature dungeons in cities can provide *Challenges* to raise the Phase of a Talent, up to 3 times from 1 to 4. Each character will get to roughly 8 non-Trait Talents. Attributes come exclusive from Talents, are required by Talents, and provide various effects as well. I designed about 220 Talents with abilities, 4 in each of 4 phases. "Traits" are just Attribute stuff. I'm not sure how many will be detailed in the story, more than 100 for sure. I used Talents because I want to be free of the legacy of tabletop. Half those rules are just because of the limitations inherent in a pre-computer ttrpg. This story mostly uses combat Talents, although like 1/3 of the 220 are for crafting and other society and economy stuff. If you really wanted to be a Thief you might take Intuition, Awarness, and Might for Basic Traits and Deftness, Manipulation, and Trickery for Family/Education. Then you'd pick Acrobatics, and Climbing for Educational Capstone and Arbitrary traits. You Aleatory Trait might be Shadow(Light/Dark) Magic, Umbramancy. A Bard might swap Dexterity for Charisma, Music for Acrobatics, and have gotten Illusion(Shadow/Sound(Air/Force)) for their Aleatory Trait.
