Chapter 15 – Happy Thoughts
“They came early huh,” the man with a scar on his left eye commented.
He seemed to be the leader out of the three men. When they heard the trap door open, he stood up and ordered one of his men to get the children.
“Get out here you brats”
One of the men with the gun opened the door, his eyes ridiculed the children, as if it was their fault they ended up kidnapped.
The man wasn’t worried the children would try to run away, they never had the guts to do so. Most of the time, the children cried and cried until they annoyed the boss.
He glanced at the children, but when he saw Ciao Daiyu’s bloodstained head he couldn’t help but shake his head in disapproval. What if her price was lowered due to damage? He definitely had to teach that teo a lesson on how to treat the children.
Xiao Daiyu no longer felt pain on her forehead and the blood had long dried. She followed the men obediently, but the three other children were too scared to walk.
Xiao Daiyu was already at the door when she heard the man shout.
“You brats stand up! do you want me to carry all of you?!?” As he was about to hit them, he felt tug on his feet and saw Xiao Daiyu hugging his feet and looking at him pitifully.
“Mister, I’ll tell them to move… Sniff, please don’t hit them…” Xiao Daiyu looked at him pitifully.
The man was immediately distracted by the look in her eyes, he started feeling suffocated.
“Lei Mang! What’s taking you so long?!? Hurry the f*ck up!” A rough voice snapped him out of his own thoughts and he immediately kicked Xiao Daiyu away.

“You hear that?!? He said hurry up!” The man called Lei Mang scowled apt them and went to the door. ” If you don’t come here in 3 seconds i’ll hit you all. 1…”
Xiao Daiyu got up and unhurriedly helped the three other children up. Lei Mang was unable to see it but Xiao Daiyu secretly told them to relax, and they trusted the assurance in her eyes.
She pulled them along as they walked out of the dark room…
On the other side of the metal door, Lu Ji gulped at the sight of the red dot on the tablet moving and stopping repeatedly. right in front of him, the sweat on his forehead visible.
He held his gun tightly and pointed at the door, he knocked three times and waited until the door opened.
Xiao Daiyu on the other side, watched as the door slowly opened. The breeze bought a familiar scent of men’s cologne, which she immediately recognized.
It was Mr. Lu’s, who always went to the orphanage. She was unsure why she was so excited, did this mean Mr. Chen really cared about her?
She felt strangely happy at that thought.
