On the other side.

Brina just woke up when she felt something amiss. As she got accustomed to the warmth eluded from her boyfriend's warm body, Brina felt cold and woke up.

She frowned seeing the other side of the bed empty but assumed that Louis was still busy with his meetings.

However, she didn't find him anywhere. So, she decided to make a call. However, a frown marred on her peaceful face when a notification lit up her mobile.

It was a scheduled messages that was set almost two hours before.

And, it's from Louis.

[Honey, I'm sorry but a sudden emergency cropped up and I had to leave you at midnight. The woman you met at Carnival is actually my friend, Sahana. And, it seems like something happened to her husband who is also my cousin from my maternal side. As you told earlier, she was actually unstable and will be escorted to a mental asylum shortly. After finding it out, I couldn't help but feel like seeing her once. Don't worry. I'll be back before you know it. Okay?]

That was the first message and there is another one followed by it.

[And Brina, I want to confess something to you as soon as I come back. Though I am still afraid how to break it to you. I can no longer bear my guilty conscience. I love you so much that I am truly afraid of losing you by confessing it. The nightmare of no longer staying by your side has forced me to lie to you. Even now, I still couldn't bring myself to face you directly and tell it. So, I just typed this half of the confession.]

[I hope you will take it positively after I tell you everything. Please think about it and remember one thing. That I am ready to do anything for you if you are not okay with it. But, please don't leave me, babygirl.

This scheduled messages would have linked with the security lock of the French door in their bedroom. As Brina opened the door to check at the patio, where Louis usually attends his meetings and business calls, the messages would have been sent assuming that Brina has woken up.

After Brina finished read the messages, she pursed her lips feeling bad for Louis's friend, Sahana. She is still so young and already she lost her husband.

She felt happy that Louis took a decision to check on her even though it was already midnight. Louis is really kind hearted man.

Coming to the next messages, she didn't have much to say.

This every word reached until the bottom of her heart, making her feel his fear, love and also anxiousness. And, she isn't blaming him for hiding something from her, because she is on the same page as well.

Brina lied down on the couch facing the ceiling to the floor window, as she fidgeted with her ring. She couldn't help but recall what had happened at Carnival.

And, she obviously understood what he meant by 'Please think about it and remember one thing' in the last part of his messages.

She even felt fishy when he said 'Even now, I still couldn't bring myself to face you directly and tell it. So, I typed half of the confession.'

She couldn't help but link up both these sentences. On the first hand, he still didn't confess anything, let alone half of it. He claimed that he had typed half of his confession and have also asked her to think about it and remember.

So, it must be something that was related to what happened in Carnival.

As far as she remembers, nothing interesting or mysterious had happened, except for meeting Sahana.

Wait.…

Didn't Sahana addressed Louis as 'Edward Wright?'.

Brina's eyes flew open, totally engulfed in shock and surprise.

And, that was when her mobile vibrated again. Hoping that it should be from Louis, she opened her phone but recognising whose number it is, Brina just chucked away her mobile on the couch.

All the hard work Chris did was such a waste and she has not even opened the message fully. She just saw the notification and swiped it away.

Getting a message from that scumbag ruined her mood totally.

Brina waited and waited but soon the minutes turned hours and she dozed off on the couch.

And by the time, Louis returned back, it was almost the first hour of dawn and he noticed Brina who is sleeping uncomfortably on the sofa.

Her head is resting on the arm rest and noticing it, Louis frowned. How come she doesn't care about her head injury at all!!

He took a pillow and he is about to place it under her head. However, Brina who was not in her deep sleep, woke up.

Blinking her eyes, she looked around and at last, she focussed her eyes on Louis. "You are back." she said and hugged him.

Louis froze. And, he didn't expect her to act as if everything is normal.

'Didn't she get my messages' he wondered.
