Instead of spending all that time thinking her brain out, why not just call Wan Jia and ask? She thought and swiftly dialled her number.

Wan Jia was playing princess dress up with Little Jia when her phone rang.

Her gossip mode was immediately turned on. "Xuanxuan! How's the going? You met Tyler and went off for all those hours?Don't tell me you guys did it all night?"

Yun Xuan sighed. "Wanwan, I need to ask you something."

"Go ahead, why do you sound so serious?"

"When exactly did you divorce Lu Aotian?"

Wan Jia was shocked."Can we not talk about those unhappy memories? Why do you ask anyway? Did something happen?"

"Can you just answer me? Oh, and can you be precise?"

Wan Jia thought it was strange but still answered "Fine. We divorced exactly three years seven months ago, precisely on the twentieth of October, at around 9 pm, I was one month pregnant. Is that precise enough?"

"Are you sure you really divorced?"

"A hundred percent. We both signed the papers and I personally took them to the civil affairs bureau."

"I see."

"Xuanxuan, don't hang up! Could you now be so kind as to explain your strange questions to your friend who's currently extremely confused?"

"I went to the civil affairs bureau today." Yun Xuan stated.

"Went to the civil affairs bureau for what?"

"Oh, Tyler asked me to marry him." she then went quiet for a long while.

"I see. So what's all this got to do with my relationship with Aotian?" Wan Jia didn't know why but her heartbeat was unusually fast.

Yun Xuan was starting to lose it. "The clerk said that I'm still married... to your dear Aotian and I have to terminate my marriage first, Tyler stormed off by the way and I can't find him!"

"What? But..."

"But what Wan Jia? You lied to me about the divorce, didn't you? You call yourself my friend but hide so many things from me! Are you happy now that Tyler misunderstood me?"

"Hey! That's rude. I don't know what happened either. I'm shocked as well...hello?"

She had hung up on her. Wan Jia raised an eyebrow at her friends weird character. Why was she being too grumpy?

Urgh, it wasn't such a difficult thing to deal with, it was just a matter of asking Lu Aotian to reprocess the divorce with Yun Xuan and everything would be solved. Maybe it was just a hitch in the system.

Yun Xuan's room was a complete mess in just ten minutes. How could Wan Jia do this to her? It was all so weird. Wan Jia loved Lu Aotian. If she intentionally refused to divorce Lu Aotian on behalf of Yun Xuan then that would make him someone else's husband. She definitely wouldn't gain anything from doing that. Someone else was bound to be the benefactor.

She recieved two messages.

[Little Wan: There must be a mistake. I'll ask Aotian to deal with it, okay? I'm sorry]

[Tyler: meet me at my apartment]

She blinked and rubbed her eyes to make sure Tyler really texted her. After ensuring that she wasn't dreaming, she bolted off to Tyler's apartment.

"Sit." he told her.

She sat opposite him and took the golden chance to explain "I'm really not married to Lu Aotian." Tyler was looking at her like she was an idiot so she continued "You don't believe me? "

Tyler looked at her seriously."I'm sorry for storming off like that. My temper isn't quite good and I'd do something regrettable if I didn't leave."

"I understand" she replied.

"I looked into the whole thing but no matter how much hacking I did and how many channels I used, I got completely nothing out of it." He held her hand. "So I want to hear everything from you."

Yun Xuan sighed. ".....and then I tried to stop the marriage but they had already signed the papers."

"So you're saying that you got someone to pretend to be you and ended up marrying Lu Aotian?" For a reason she couldn't explain, Yun Xuan didn't tell Tyler her substitute's name. She just felt it would be completely wrong.

"Yes. And she insists that she took the signed divorce papers to the civil affairs bureau. Mmph I don't know why she would tell me such a lie. I mean, what's in it for her?"

"She didn't lie." he suddenly said.

"What?"

"She must have really told you the truth." he explained. "Although I couldn't get any questionable information about you or Lu Aotian, I did find a loophole." He presented a photo to her. "This man, he disappeared from the civil affairs bureau exactly three years and seven months ago. I can't tie that timeline to anything yet but he sure is questionable."

Yun Xuan's heart was racing. "What's so strange avout him?"

"His daughter had been having kidney failure for years and needed a kidney transplant. Then when he seemed to have lost all hope, a donor suddenly popped up exactly three years, seven months ago, and voluntarily donated his kidney, then coincidentally the man disappeared with his daughter without a trace right after the surgery. Something must have happened before the donor appeared."

Yun Xuan pressed her hand against her mouth to avoid screaming. She muttered under her breath "three years seven months ago...Wanwan said that's when they divorced...." just as she was about to blurt that out, she looked at Tyler.

It's one thing to be able to retrieve whatever information one wants to, but what on earth compelled him to look into such an unrelated thing as the civil affairs bureau?
