In the blink of an eye, a few days had passed. Lin Lihua lay casually on the sofa in her mother's house as she read the ridiculous news. It was the night before the court hearing.

Too bad she had no way to help her sister this time. If she stepped in, she would cause even more implication. Fortunately, Wan Jia had Lu Aotian. She really hoped he had a way to prove her innocence.

He had to have a way...or else he wouldn't be Lu Aotian.

Her mother, who was preparing dinner in the kitchen, suddenly cursed. The loud clattering of things falling was heard.

Xia Rou pulled her daughter aside and stormed to her room. Moments later, Lin Lihua heard her scolding like thunder on phone.

Lin Lihua froze. She had found out?

Tonight was a very good night for General Yun. Sitting on a mighty sofa in a casino, his mood was especially nice. Just a few hours. In just a few hours, Wan Jia would be dead. And for a crime she did not even commit...it made him happy.

At last, he would get rid of that little disobedient thing. The best part was if she was killed, Lu Aotian would surely break down, making him vulnerable. He would use the chance to sieze Lu Enterprise, killing two birds with one stone.

The evil man poured wine into a long wineglass and sipped on it, two beautiful voluptious girls trying to please him by dancing and massaging him. They looked quite young- not older than twenty five.

An unknown caller ID flashed on his phone screen. He swiped the screen mindlessly then in the next second he heard a voice he had not heard in years.

Yun, you f*cking b*****d, what the f*ck do you want?

He breathed in to calm his suddenly racing heart, then he pushed away the girl who was just about to sit her seductive backside on his lap.

"Heh, my beautiful flower. I knew you were alive." He taunted. He was both excited and angry.

The woman on the other end was angry at his way of speaking. "Beautiful flower your dirty backside! What exactly do you want?" She screamed.

"She's your daughter, isn't she?" He asked in an angry tone.

"What does that have to do with you?! Just leave her alone!"

He lowered his tone significantly. "Rou, you know how much I loved you, don't you? I still do. Come back to me. My flower, if you come back, I'll stop bothering that little girl. She isn't that fun to mess with anyway."

Xia Rou sneered. Go back to him? As if she had wanted to be with him in the first place! "Yun, I'm warning you! I'll expose you if you don't stay away from her." She threatened.

General Yun sneered. "Huh, expose me? You and what army? Do you even have any evidence?"

Right, evidence. Xia Rou slapped her forehead. She had none. If she had any, would she stay in hiding like this? Would she hide from her daugher in fear? She would have brought him to justice years ago.

General Yun enjoyed the silence and knew from the silence that she was feeling defeated. He twirled his glass and said smugly, "You know, flower, I can tolerate it if you treat me a little badly because it's you. I'm quite used to your hostility." He sipped his wine.

"Since you called me, you can choose to come back. I'll divorce my wife and marry you.

I'll forget about that person. We can be the perfect couple we failed to be." He paused tauntingly, before he changed his tone into an evil one.

"However, that little Wan Jia is not you. If you offend me, I'll take it out on her. I don't care even if she is my daughter."

"..."

"Rou, she looks just like you when you were younger. Do you know how much that irritates me? It makes me miss you and hate her. But if you come, it will be different. I'll acknowledge her and marry you. We'll be the most perfect family."

Xia Rou almost threw up. How can that man say such disgusting things? With a straight face? She hung up the call and stared into space.

Some things had been kept hidden for years. She had avoided him for two whole decades. Why did she call him? Why did she have to hear some of those disgusting things he had said years ago?

What was she thinking?

What if he makes it even worse for Wan Jia? what if he tells her the truth right now and makes her daughter hate her?

"Mom! Mom, are you alright?" Lin Lihua knocked the door.

"Mom, open the door."

"Mom?"

The knocking came to a stop and she heard foosteps rushing away.

A while later, she heard them rushing back then the door was unlocked from outside.

"Mom, are you okay?" The worried Lin Lihua rushed to her. She had sat on the floor in tears.

Lin Lihua's heart clenched. "Get up, mom. The floor is cold."
