Lu Aotian and Wan Jia had already ordered, so Lu Shaoting and Su Ling did the same. The four of them ate in silence, each of them lost in their own thoughts.

When they were done, Lu Aotian insisted that Wan Jia and Su Ling should take Lu Shaoting's car back to Elite Fashion World. He would give his brother a ride. His excuse was that he and his brother needed to settle company matters but the truth was that he wanted to give the two some time alone.

"They are boss and subordinate. They can talk anywhere." Lu Shaoting complained when he could not drop Su Ling off.

"Are you worried that my wife will bully Su Ling? She doesn't stoop that low."

"Oh. Then, are you driving?"

"Am I your driver?"

Lu Aotian had guessed right. The two women indeed had things to say to each other.

"Boss..."

Su Ling panicked when she was alone with Wan Jia. She was afraid that she would be punished.

"Su Ling, I'm sorry I didn't believe you."

"What?"

Wan Jia was apologetic for misnderstanding her this time. Although the only evidence she had of her innocence was Lu Aotian's words, she trusted that her man would never let her get away if she was guilty.

"However, Su Ling, I don't completely trust your intentions of finding me."

Su Ling looked at the usually friendly woman who was currently looking scary.

"Maybe I should tell you what exactly happened to me? Maybe then you will believe that I really needed a job." said Su Ling.

Wan Jia nodded.

Su Ling braved it. "Mo Zilian and I were friends in high school. When we were just about to do our final exams, I..." she paused and hesitated.

"You don't have to say it if it's too personal."

"No, I have to. I can't live with it anymore...Before our final exams, I made a mistake and got pregnant. Mo Zilian helped me secretly have an abortion. My parents are too strict. They would have killed me if they found out."

"And then?"

Although she said it calmly, Wan Jia felt wronged on her behalf. Just how much had she suffered bearing such a secret, and how difficult was her life after her parents found out? She did not want to judge her for being pregnant while still young or for terminating it. She wouldn't have done it if it wasn't her only choice.

"You trusted me with such a huge matter?" she asked as they approached the EFW building.

They remained in the car a little to finish the conversation.

"Boss, we do not know each other much but I know the type of person you are. You are very kind and won't intentionally cause trouble for others."

"And you don't think that if I told Shaoting, you would be at a loss?" she teased her.

Su Ling's answer left her speechless.

"Lu Shaoting and I have only known each other for a few days and you could say that we get along.

I will not pretend that I never desired to be with a powerful man but...he's out of my reach. Not only is my status too low to match him, there's also that incident. Who would want a pair of used shoes? Perhaps someone would, but Lu Shaoting is a very honest man. I'm really not good enough for him. Boss, you don't have to worry that I will seduce him. I would not even dare."

Wan Jia's tears almost fell. Was this really the high and mighty Su Ling that she met in the past, the one who flaunted herself with her nose in the air and looked down on everyone?

"Su Ling, don't look down on yourself. One thing I'm sure about is that men from the Lu family are very true when it comes to love. I have seen from the way the two of you look at each other that you are in love.

"Does that mean you would not oppose me?"

Wan Jia chuckled. "I will neither support nor oppose you. It all depends on you and Shaoting. Only if you are trying to get close to Aotian will I directly feed you to the sharks." she joked.

She checked the time. "Enough chatting, second Mrs. Lu, I don't want to fight with Shaoting because I deducted your pay."

"Boss, you're teasing me." Su Ling blushed.

Wan Jia felt that this girl had really changed into a loveable version."
