Yan Xue smiled like her point had finally been driven home. "It's simple. Stay away from my fiancé."

As if scared Su Ling would not understand her, she continued, "If you don't believe that Lu Shaoting is my rightful fiancé, you can ask Shaoting. If you don't stay away,..." she simply waved the file in her hand as a form of threat.

The Lu and Yan families did in fact have a marriage agreement, but it was just a suggestion. It was not a contract where the children would have to marry whether they liked it or not. However, from the way Yan Xue made it sound, it was as though she and Lu Shaoting had been engaged all along.

When Yan Xue left, Su Ling ran into her apartment in tears. Although she liked Lu Shaoting, she was aware that she did not match up to him. It would not hurt too much if he silently married another woman, but being confronted by that woman as though she was a mistress made her heart feel like it had been stabbed.

The next day, Su Ling was a little absent minded at work.

Wan Jia gradually became annoyed. "Su Ling, this was for the CEO to sign, not the manager. What's with you today, are you feeling unwell?" Although Wan Jia was annoyed, she did not lose her temper and still spoke to Su Ling gently.

"I'm sorry Boss, I'll take it to the CEO now." Su Ling apologized and corrected the numerous mistakes she had made all morning.

"Is something bothering you?"

Su Ling viewed Wan Jia as her boss as well as someone she could trust, so she asked, "Have you heard of the Yan family?"

Wan Jia nodded. The most recent thing she had heard was Lu Shaoting going on a blind date with that family's second miss.

"Do they really have a marriage contract with the Lu family?" she asked hesitantly.

"Marriage contract?" Wan Jia had never heard of any. That was of course because it didn't exist.

She seemed to understand why Su Ling was sulky. So someone had told her about a contract. As for who it was, did she need to ask?

She secretly sent Lu Shaoting a message. [Do you still want your wife or not? She has some misunderstanding about you and that girl you went on a blind date with.]

If this was before, Lu Shaoting would have reacted immediately and sent a reply or called to ask for the whole story. However, Lu Shaoting seemed to have magically given up on chasing Su Ling, because he only sent an [Oh].

Wan Jia could not be bothered about them anymore. If they wanted to solve their misunderstandings, it would be for the better because she would become an aunt sooner. But if they didn't, that was up to them.

Wan Jia was curious, [Have you given up on Su Ling? Are you going to be with Yan Xue now?]

Lu Shaoting quickly replied, [If it's not Su Ling, forget about me getting married.]

So he had not given up after all.

Wan Jia pushed it at the back of her mind. Let the kids handle their problems on their own. Although she called them kids due to her seriority, they were both older than her.

It had been quite some time since she last went out with Lin Lihua. It just happened that she didn't have much to do today, so she sent her a text.

Lin Lihua had missed her too. She instantly invited her for dinner.

In the evening, she rushed over to the restaurant before Wan Jia arrived.

"Did you wait too long?" Wan Jia asked when she finally arrived. She had been stuck in traffic for a while.

"Not that long. Oh my, Little Wan, is it just in my eyes or have you grown even prettier?"

Wan Jia blushed. "Of course I've grown prettier. I get prettier by the minute, okay?"

"Tsk, you little narcissist." Lin Lihua scolded and hugged her tightly.

Wan Jia did not fail to retaliate. "Who do you think is more narcissistic? Who is it that always refers to herself as a megastar?"

Lin Lihua piched her on her back slightly . "Shut up and hug me."

Wan Jia burst out laughing. After a warm hug, the sisters ordered their meals.

Wan Jia asked, "Mother didn't come along?"

Lin Lihua was pleased. Their relationship is getting better by the day.

It was a private room so she said, "It wouldn't be too nice for mom to keep walking around with me. Someone might see her and know of our relationship." It was obvious who the someone she was talking about was.

"He doesn't know?" she asked.

"He only knows about you and mom. He doesn't know about dad and I, and if the three of us kept appearing together, the chances of him finding out would be higher. I don't want to be a weakness by mom's side."

She did not want to be used to drag Xia Rou out. So that was why Xia Rou rarely went anywhere with Lin Lihua...For that man to not have known yet that Xia Rou was Mrs. Lin, the Lins were indeed too careful.

The Lin sisters were, however, unaware that some moles had tried to follow Wan Jia and were presently being beaten up by Lu Aotian's men.
