Wan Jia put the file aside and opened another one. "Moon and Stars Jewelers sent a proposal for an exchange in jewelry. Whoa, I guess they tried to set up a meeting with you and failed; that's why they decided to send over their proposal instead. Otherwise, sending such a proposal doesn't look like something that happens every day."

Well, they had tried to set up a meeting with him countless times but he had rejected them. She got that right too.

"Anyway, back to the main point. The CEO wants to give you their biggest masterpiece that is precious to their company and has gained tremendous value over the years, "eye the demons" in exchange of one of Elite Fashion World's necklaces, "the diamond heart."

She finished reading out the content of the proposal before analyzing it.

"Logically, "eye of the demons" is at least twice more valuable than "the diamond heart" and anyone would be willing to give it away if the deal is half as tempting as this one is.

For the CEO to want it so much that he can exchange it for a company's treasure, it must be because someone he loves took a liking to "the diamond heart" and wants it by all means. But, you would never give it away because aside from being the first necklace to ever be made by EFW, it is the only piece of jewelry ever designed by…" she paused and changed her next words when he saw her husband's slight change in expression. "…that reputable woman who was not even a designer and only drafted it out of boredom."

That necklace was in fact nothing special. It had only gained so much value because Lu Aotian had been unwilling to give it to anyone since he knew of its existence. He was just a teenager then and he took it to protect it. When he took over the company, he banned everyone from having thoughts of selling it, no matter the price offered.

Lu Aotian's lips twitched at how fast she had evaded that disaster. Well, she was right again.

But it was not too strange either. She was a designer of Lu Enterprises. If she didn't know about EFW's most treasured creation, what would she be doing in the company?

Wan Jia patted her chest in relief as she averted her gaze from the man. It's just a name. Do you have to look so scary? Also, if you hate her so much, why is it that you can't bear to part with the necklace she created?

She believed that what he felt was not hatred but disappointment.

However, she did not dwell on it and moved to the next document.

She held his hand and played with his beautiful fingers. "I don't want you to carry me all the way to our destination. I want to walk side by side with you."

Well, if she put it that way, he could relent a little. But what happened to his childish little wife that threw tantrums and needed guidance in almost everything? Why did it seem like she had suddenly grown up in minutes?
