While Wan Jia was having so much trouble conceiving that she needed to be kidnapped and have pills shoved down her throat, someone else was wishing she wasn't pregnant. The woman lay in her bed unable to sleep. Don't get her wrong. It's not that she hated her child; he just arrived at a rather unfortunate time. She was no longer in Country C.

She had left her home country to start over in Europe.

She stood up slowly and pushed open her bedroom curtains, letting the night light in. She liked everything about this place and didn't miss her home in the slightest.

She was finally away from a scheming pair of father and brother. Away from the mistakes she made and most importantly, the husband who used her for his own good and claimed to love her would never find her again. He had refused to sign the divorce papers but so what? She wasn't planning to get married again anyway.

She no longer cared about his motives against her family, about her second brother's weird character and fake passport nor about the evil deed that her father might have possibly done. It had nothing to do with her anymore.

The only troublesome factor was the little life growing inside her. She put her hand on top of her growing belly. It was a healthy little boy. He would arrive in four months. His father was still unaware of his existence and she didn't intend to ever let him know.

Actually, she had known that she was pregnant for a while and wanted to wait for the right time to give Tyler a surprise. However, the truth was put before her eyes before she told him. It was for this reason that she decided to keep it a secret.

She knew that she would be put under stress and quite possibly unnecessary torture if the Qin family knew that she was pregnant with their child. She didn't want to end up like Wan Jia years ago. She would rather have an abortion than have to either continue being Mrs. Qin or have her baby taken away.

That day months ago when she wanted to get rid of him, she changed her mind right when she felt the needle touch her skin. If she were a single second late, she would be injected with the anesthesia.

But that gynecologist sure was something. It was as though she was waiting for her to say "wait" because as soon as she said it, the gynecologist's eyes shone brighter than the daylight. She had almost broken into a dance of joy when Yun Xuan said that she had changed her mind about terminating her pregnancy.

That day she thought, although she wanted to start over, she couldn't be completely alone, right? This child was the only biological relative she had and (as the gynecologist said) her only child in this lifetime. Besides, he was just an innocent little thing that happened out of her love for the wrong man.

She hated Tyler, but she couldn't hate her own son.

But now, a bigger issue was on the way. If her son asked about his father, what was she to say?

As the night light shone onto her face and slightly protruding belly, she came to a decision. If the heavens granted her a third chance at love, she would accept it. After all, sometimes we have to kiss a few frogs before we finally meet the prince.

All she would ask from a man was being truthful and willing to be kind to her son. She didn't care about anything else. He didn't necessarily have to love her as long as he had no ulterior motive.
