As expected, Wan Jia asked Lu Aotian about Zede that evening. "That little genius got himself into trouble with you?"

Lu Aotian took a single glance at her and carried her in his arms, then gently put her into bed. "You are pregnant now. You should not spend your time worrying about trivial matters." But that idiot stubbonly thought that he had a way to defeat Lu Aotian. When was he getting arrested? She was starting to get impatient. Hadn't Lu Aotian had enough of him? If she didn't know better, she would start suspecting that there was something between the two of them that was making Lu Aotian hesitant.

"Wait, is Zede alright?" She asked. It would not be too nice if an employee of Lu Enterprises got hurt because they did not want to betray the company.

"He's fine. I would never let anyone hurt my employees."

Wan Jia felt relieved.

When he was done tucking his wife in, Lu Aotian took his laptop and was about to leave the room.

"Where are you going?" She asked.

He lowered his head and kissed her forehead and lips. "Go to sleep. I am going to finish up on some work in the study."

"You only know to finish up work every time. I want to sleep with you." She grumbled, her little face sticking outside the duvet, looking extremely wronged. He thought just a little brush against her lips would pacify her? Who was he kidding?

Lu Aotian let out a chuckle. Was she worried that he would work too hard and tire himself out?

Since the wife wanted him to lay with her, he could only put the laptop aside and lift the duvet, lying down beside her.

"Happy now?" He spoke in her ear.

"Uh huh." Of course she was happy. She found a comfortable spot in his embrace, snuggled onto him and drifted off.

In her room, Little Jia suddenly woke up. She frowned as though she had been awoken from a nightmare.

In the dim light, she looked around with her drowsy eyes , trying to rub them awake. Spotting a white stuffed koala, she got down, took it in her arms and with her short legs, climbed back into bed. Hugging her favorite toy, the stuffed koala, she tried to fall back asleep.

No matter how many toys she had, this had remained her favorite.

On many occassions if she jolted from her sleep, she would have trouble going back to sleep and would need her mother to lull her.

But today, she did not want to bother Wan Jia. She was now a big girl and an elder sister on top of that. She did not need anyone to tell her bedtime stories or sing her a lullaby. Her parents should save them for her little brother instead.
