Wan Jia wanted to roll her eyes at him. Was her husband so narcissistic about his looks that he could have a robot remind him that he was handsome? What a man!

The robot-turned-pet reminded Wan Jia to eat lunch once again and rolled back to its spot with Lu Aotian's instruction.

As Wan Jia saw it go back, she finally knew where it had come from earlier. So there was a secret room behind that wall...

The robot touched the wall with its metallic palms and a section of it moved, allowing it to enter the secret room.

"There's such a thing in my office?" Wan Jia was awed. She had not known that such a thing existed until now. When was it even made? Lu Aotian was really something...

Out of curiosity, she went to that wall and touched it, trying to check if there was anything else in that room. Perhaps there were more robots?

"You can't open it." Lu Aotian said when he understood her intention.

Wan Jia did not understand. "I can't open it but a robot can? What's the logic?"

Lu Aotian asked her to watch attentively. This was better explained in actions than in words.

With his instructions, the robot Seventeen came out, then went back into the secret room.

This time, Wan Jia saw the logic. When Seventeen touched the wall, there was a pattern that glowed faintly in its metallic hands, that looked complimentary to the one that appeared faintly on the wall. It looked like some sort of maze.

One could only see it if they paid close attention.

Now she got it. So it was like a lock and key, and he didn't want human beings to access it.

"So it is exclusive for Seventeen and other robots can't go in?"

"They can. Actually, robots of a group have the same system. If one of them crashed, it could be revived by the others this way."

They did not all have the same system and were in groups as a precaution. If one system failed, the others would still function. Also, it was easier to manage all of them.

Wan Jia was awed by her husband's thought process as usual, but she was also rendered speechless. What kind of strange hobby was this?

If anyone were to ask her, he rarely had time to spare and when he did, he would be hacking or making and improving his robots. It was impossible for her to know how many they were exactly. All she knew was that, he made lots of them when he was bored.

At other times, he would keep improving the security systems of Southside Villas and Lu Enterprises and its subsidiaries. Those places were now too secure for a fly to enter. People who were neither employees nor partners could not enter the Lu Enterprises building easily, thanks to him.

He had in fact, naughtily hacked into governmental security systems for fun before, and even claimed that they were too novice for him and he wanted more difficult firewalls to hack into. The thought of it rendered one speechless.

Who would expect such a man to have such weird hobbies?

However, they were not just weird. Sometimes, it was helpful.

"Enough about lifeless objects like robots. Your lunch time is overdue." He reminded.

He went ahead to unpack the lunch that he had brought her.

Luckily, he had arrived before she placed her order for take out.

"I had it delivered from home." He said.

When he opened the food box, her mouth watered from the enticing aroma. It was all healthy food with little spices. She would have found it boring if the chef at Southside not as talented as he was.

The aroma of it was in fact familiar. If he hadn't mentioned that it was delivered from home, she would have thought that he had cooked it himself.

Aside from the aroma, the food looked delicious.

One taste and her expression changed, slowly turning into a sweet smile. "You cooked it, right?"

"Is it that obvious?" He concealed his surfacing smile.

"I can recognize my husband's cooking even from a waft. Of course, the main reason is that my husband is the best chef in the world."

Lu Aotian's lips couldn't conceal his smile. That was one sweet tongue.

"You're not eating yourself?" She asked when she realized that there was a lot of food for her and none for himself.

"I already ate."

Wan Jia knew that he was probably just not hungry. Lu Aotian would never eat before she did. She scooped a spoonful of her food and fed to him.

With her insistence, they ate together. There was a lot of food so it was enough for both of them.

When she was done eating, she brought up something she was curious about. "I don't think my mom only wants to spend time with me by working at MAX. Could there be something else?"

Lu Aotian stayed in thought for about a minute. "I don't think so either. She could be here because she wants to help me protect you or for something else. Whatever it is, don't worry. She would never hurt you."

Wan Jia of course understood this. Xia Rou loved her too much to want to hurt her. She was just scared that her mother could be up to something that might hurt her. She was so mysterious.

One had to remember that she had a weak heart. Although her condition had been stable for more than a year, it didn't mean she could so dangerous things as she pleased.

"My love, could you help me protect her?" She said to Lu Aotian.

"Of course. I would, even if you didn't ask."
