Lu Shaoting looked at the girl carefully. "I understand that you really want to go overseas to study. However, what's up with the part about changing your nationality? Why do you make it seem like you don't want to ever come back?" 

"Because I don't. I have already decided that I don't want to be a part of this family anymore. Uncle, let me go." 

Lu Shaoting didn't know what to say anymore. No matter what, this was between his brother and his niece. He couldn't meddle too much. 

However, Lu Aotian's look was too terrifying. One would this had nothing to do with him. 

He stood up. "I'm giving you a last chance. I'll give you two days to think about it. Go back to your room." 

"I don't need it. I have already made up my mind!" Lu Xian Li was adamant. 

"Then you leave me with no other choice." 

"Daddy, wait." Lu Meili knew from that look that he might just lock Lu Xian Li up. It wouldn't end well if it reached that point. "I'll speak to her." 

Before Lu Aotian could say anything, Lu Meili took the young lady's hand and dragged her away.

"Sis, let go of me!" Lu Xian Li protested.

"I won't let you go. Bite me." Lu Meili pulled her upstairs.

Lu Xian Li wouldn't be stronger than her sister, so her shouts ans struggle were all for nothing.

Lu Meili pulled her to her room and locked the door, securing the key in her own pocket.

"What do you want?" Lu Xian Li was so angry she was about to burst into tears.

Lu Meili sat on her bed as though the person who had just forcefully dragged her sister here was not her. "How interesting. The day daddy announced his successor, my little sister tried to run away from home. Is this a coincidence... or does it have something to do with his decision?"

"It's none of your business."

Lu Meili guffawed. "Don't think too much of yourself. I'm not trying to understand you. I'm just making sure daddy doesn't vent his anger on us because of you. Why else would I care about your business?"

"You…"

"Weren't you so lively a moment ago? Cat got your tongue?" Lu Meili taunted. "Lu Xian Li, it's alright to want freedom since you have never been given enough of that. But do you have to donate an organ? Even you know that your body can't take it."

She looked into the girl's eyes. "Aren't you doing this to infuriate daddy? You him to think I've been a bad sister and vent his fury on me, don't you?"

Tears welled up in Lu Xian Li's eyes. "Why do you hate me? Sis why… why do you all hate me?"

Lu Meili gripped her phone. As expected, that worked. But... hate her?

"Why do you say that?" She probed.

"Because it's true. I know everything. I know that when mother was expecting me, you all thought I would be a boy. You were displeased when I turned out to be a girl, right? That's why everyone loves and pampers Xian Yu but no one cares about me. In fact, the first time you saw me, you cried and threw a tantrum because you wanted a brother.

Actually, I wouldn't have been born if you didn't fall sick, would I?"

"Fine. I guess we will never stop arguing even if the air around us is cleared."

Lu Xian Li looked sad like she didn't want to remember it. "A friend I met in middle school. Her kidneys have been failing for a long time and her family won't make any effort to find her a donor. She might not live for long if she doesn't get one soon."
