Lin Ye's villa.

Once Wan Jia left, the butler gave Lin Ye a sponge bath. It would be hard for him to use the shower or tub at the moment so he could only make do with this.

Of course, Yun Xuan didn't want to be part of it. She was busy studying the expressions on the servants' faces. After scrutinizing them for ages, she found that none of them showed any signs of curiosity.

They only kept asking her if she wanted fruit or juice or water, but that was it. They didn't seem to be curious about her identity. Most importantly, none of them asked what had happened to their boss.

Was it because they had been trained to keep their thoughts hidden, or was it because they were not shocked that their boss who had been missing for two months suddenly appeared on a wheelchair, blind and with a woman?

For a moment, it felt like they were well informed. Why did it feel that something wasn't right?

Dismissing it as none of her business, she took out her phone to play with. There were a few missed calls, some from her mother and one from Xia Rou. 

She realized with a start that she had been away from home for quite some time. How could she be so impolite as to leave a guest on her own and for such a long time? 

She guiltily returned Xia Rou's call.

On the other end, Yun Feng could be heard chuckling. He must have been playing with Xia Rou, who sounded cheerful as well. "Xuanxuan, how is Lin Ye?"

Yun Xuan let out a breath of relief. She had been worried that something happened to Xia Rou or Yun Feng when she saw that missed call. So she was just calling to check on Lin Ye. "Lin Ye got discharged. Since he is alright now, I'll be on my way back."

"No, no. You should spend a little more time with him. That kid has always been on his own. You should accompany him a little more; you don't have to worry about Little Feng, I will take care of him." 

If Yun Xuan hadn't realized anything strange before, she would be dumb if she didn't realzie it now. These Lins...

Why was it that all of them sounded strange whenever they talked about Lin Ye? 

When the call ended, she proceeded to check on a few other notifications. She wasn't going to return Madam Yun's call for now.

Keeping her phone back in her pocket, she saw that the butler had finished changing Lin Ye into a fresh set of clothes and was now wheeling him into the living room. 

The man had a displeased expression on his face. 

Yun Xuan chuckled under her breath, pretty much guessing the cause of his displeasure. 

Still, he had to rant when the servants retreated. 

"I hate that. How could the butler bathe me? It was so embarassing! He even got to see parts of my body that are not meant for his eyes. Including... that." 

Yun Xuan was going to comfort him but she became embarassed by his second statement. 

How could he simply say that? "Lin Ye!" 

"Anything wrong?" 

Yun Xuan coughed. Perhaps he was not a reserved person and could talk about such things freely. 

Lin Ye wanted to disperse the awkwardness, and at the same time test the waters. "Xuanxuan..." 

Yun Xuan was once again stunned. Such an intimate form of adress... It was not the first time he called her this but she didn't know how to react. 

"I want to eat apples. Could you peal me some?" 

"Well..." Yun Xuan was yet to react to the nickname that left his mouth when he spoke again. It took a few seconds for her brain to adjust to it. "Okay! I brought some this morning. I'll go to peel some for you." 

"En." 

When he heard Yun Xuan's retreating footsteps, he nervously pushed his luck a little further. "I like it when my apples are cut into hearts." 

Yun Xuan giggled with a hand over her mouth. Pfft. Such a childish preferance for a grown up man. 

Without answering, she rushed away. 

Seconds later, Lin Ye heard her stop the butler and ask him for the direction to the kitchen. 

With a wide smile rapidly forming in his lips, he balled a fist and suddenly punched into the air, making the servants exchange curious looks.

In the kitchen, Yun Xuan took an apple from the basket and washed it. 

After being told all the details by the butler, she found the cutlery with ease from which she chose a small fruit knife. 

Peeling an apple was a piece of cake: she did it swiftly and put it on the chopping board.

After delibetating for some seconds, she chose to do what that grown up childish man prefered. So she took a heart-shaped cookie cutter from the cutlery - though she wondered what such an item was doing in a man's kitchen. It couldn't be that he liked eating heart-shaped cookies and fruits, right? 

With a giggle, she sliced the apple before using the cookie cutter to shape it into small hearts. 

"Pfft. Those who didn't know would think I made this for my Feng."

...

"Your apple is ready." She announced when she got back to the living room. 

Lin Ye was currently trying to feel around. He was overjoyed when he heard her voice. 

However, he sounded helpless. "Feed me." 

Yun Xuan sat opposite him on the sofa and pulled his wheelchair closer: just an inch more and their knees would touch. She stabbed the fork into one of the apple hearts and put it near his mouth. He was already used to being fed by her so he naturally took the piece in his mouth and chewed it with satisfaction. 

"Are apples so sweet nowadays?" He remaeked afer swallowing. How come they were not this sweet when Lin Lihua peeled them for him the previous night?

Lin Lihua: "A-cho! Is someone haboring ill intentions against me?" 

... 

"Xuanxuan, it's seriously very sweet." Feeling around in the space in front of him, he touched the plate in Yun Xuan's hands. 

"You want to eat on your own?" Yun Xuan stabbed a piece and put the fork in his hand, trying to make it easier for him.

"You should have a taste." Lin Ye held the fork and guided it to where he thought her mouth should be. 

However, he had put it right smack on her chest.
