Yun Xuan was shocked by the sudden cold sensation on her chest. If he could see, this would have been extremely awkaward.

Taking back the fork from him, she laughed it off. "Just be obedient and let me feed you."

Lin Ye gave a tiny smile. Where did that apple piece end up earlier?

How he wished she didn't dispose it and gave it to him instead. It would be an indirect kiss of sorts.

A while later, Yun Xuan felt she had really overstayed her welcome.

Her son needed her attention too and so did her work.

"Get the chauffeur to send you home." Lin Ye said when she really had to go.

However, she rejected it politely. "Don't worry about it; It's not that far away. I'll just hail a cab."

Not wanting to force her into anything, Lin Ye let her go.

Yun Xuan didn't expect that she would regret her decision within a few minutes.

She had forgotten that this was a private property. It was not going to be easy to find a cab. The bus station was very far away from here too. If she walked all that distance, she couldn't guarantee that her legs wouldn't be sore for days.

She looked back towards the villa, wondering if it was too late to go back and ask the chauffeur to drop her off.

But after considering the facts, she thought it wouldn't be bad to take a walk. She was certain that if she walked a few meters ahead, she would be able to find one.

Minutes later, she was out of breath for walking too fast.

The good news was that she was able to see a taxi.

"Phew! Sooner than I thought." She sighed and hurriedly walked towards the taxi before it got hitched by another passenger.

"Sir, take me to Phoenix Apartments, thank you."

The driver stole a glance at Yun Xuan and drove off.

Tired from the walk, Yun Xuan lay her head against the backrest, trying not to fall asleep.

She had been handling three things at a time for the past two months - her job, her son and Lin Ye. If one knew how long she managed to catch sleep every day, one would find that she was very pitiful.

Let alone a human being, surely even a robot would be tired.

Her knitted eyebrows eased a little as she massaged her temples. Since Lin Ye was alright now, she wouldn't need to spend too much time with him. She could now comfortably take care of two things like she did when she was in Country G.

When her eyes landed at the scenery outside however, she froze.

From the bridge they had just passed, there was no alternative route to Phoenix Apartments.

Why was it that the driver had taken a detour?

She gulped when she sneaked a glance at the driver's expression. He didn't seem oblivious to what he was doing. He instead looked slightly nervous, like he was haboring some sort of malice and was afraid of being found out.

Yun Xuan's eyes went wide, reality slowly sinking into her brain. This was a familiar scene.

It was just like one of those scenes from movies and television dramas where cab drivers would be hired to kidnap people.

Her pulse accelerated.

She knew that if this was one of those scenes, she absolutely shouldn't try to remind the driver that he was going the wrong way. Screaming was out of question too.

"Um... sir, I remembered that my aunt wants me to get something from the convenience store on my way back. Could you drop me off at the one up ahead?"

If she managed to get off this car, she would be safe. She wouldn't leave that convenience store on her own. She would ask for help from Xia Rou or Lin Lihua and buy time in the convenience store until they arrived.

However, her expectation was way different from her reality.

The driver glanced at her through the rear view mirror and guffawed.

"You do have some brains, woman. Sadly, they are only enough to outsmart an elementary school kid."

With that, he accelerated towards an unfamiliar road.

Yun Xuan gasped. Where were they going? The road was getting less busy by the second.

Clutching onto her purse, she clung onto her last straw. "Listen, did someone pay you to kidnap me? How much did they pay you? I can give you double of that."

"Hmph! Can you afford it?"

The words sliced into Yun Xuan's heart. Did she look that poor?

Wait, no. It wasn't time to think about that.

"How will you know if you don't try? I could oay you tripple. That's the farthest I can go."

"Heh... although It's tempting, we are already here." The driver slyly announced.

"What?" Yun Xuan looked outside. Indeed. There were more cars a few meters away and they seemed to be waiting for them, or for her.

No... she couldn't go. If anything happened to her, who would take care of her son? He was only one year old. He still needed his mother by his side.

She looked around for a weapon desperately. This was a gangster in disguise of a driver. He must at least have some weapons in case she put up a fight. She didn't believe that he was unarmed.

But, of course he wouldn't display his weapons in the open.

She was running out of time...

"Stop! I'll go over on my own. I wonder who has the balls to summon me in such a disrespectful manner."

The driver turned to glance at Yun Xuan, wondering what was up with that tone. Why did she make it sound like she was some sort of queen?

He stopped unconciously.

At this moment, Yun Xuan pulled her belt off - she had already unbuckled it when she thought of this. She tightened it around the man's neck and pulled it - all in four seconds. "Turn around and drive!"

The man's first reaction was to reach for his gun, and Yun Xuan pulled it off his grip. "Thank you, I needed that."
