The man didn't just have a gun as his only weapon. He had a knife too, which he took out swiftly.

Yun Xuan fired the gun out of reflex. The driver's head fell onto the steering wheel, making the car sway violently.

Yun Xuan pushed it off the steering wheel and steadied the car, driving farther away from the group of hooligans.

However, she was bound to get tired soon. It was not easy to drive while leaning on the driver's seat from behind. Not only that, the man's foot that was stepping on the accelerator weakened and let go. The car slowed down to a stop. It would be too troublesome to push that man off the driver's seat, so she chose this moment to jump off the car and run into a street with a lot of human traffic.

"What?" Xia Rou was shocked.

She calmed down her senses and held Yun Xuan's shoulders, leading her to the sofa. "Xuanxuan tell me, what happened?"

Yun Xuan's shoulders shook as sob after sob left her mouth. "He…he tried to kidnap me and… and…"

Xia Rou patted her back. She was hiccupping from crying a lot. "Calm down first. I'll pour you a glass of water."

Yun Xuan drunk all the water in huge swigs and gave the glass back to Xia Rou.

She was a bit calm now, so she explained what had happened.

"We should call the police." Xia Rou said when she had recalled the whole thing.

Xia Rou patted her back. "Relax… you will not go to jail. It was all for self-defense and it's still early so the police can retrieve the evidence to clear your name. However if we don't report it early enough, you might get into trouble."

Seeing that she was still unwilling, Xia Rou coaxed her gently. "I can guarantee that you will not go to jail. If that happens, I will take responsibility."

"Thank you aunty." Yun Xuan hugged Xia Rou, happy that she did not think it was her fault.

After making sure that Yun Xuan had completely calmed down, Xia Rou called her husband and explained the matter.
