Initially, Yun Xuan had suggested faking a DNA test report and pass off Yun Feng as Lin Ye's biological son. If she sucked up to the right people, that would be easy as pie. She would also make all the hospitals fake the results if someone else tried to take the test. After all, it wouldn't be easy for anyone to get a DNA sample of her son unless she was aware of it.

However, Lin Ye thought this wouldn't solve the root of the problem. It was no different from running away – she would still have to face the reality some day. Not only that, it would tarnish her reputation as well – she would be known as the woman who had a child out of wedlock and Yun Feng might have to carry the title of an illegitimate child all his life.

So Yun Xuan balled her hands into fists to calm herself down and spoke up. "I would like to say something."

Lin Ye's lawyer suspiciously looked over. If she lost control and threw a tantrum at this point, all their efforts would go to waste.

Lin Ye gave him a reassuring look. No matter what, telling the truth was always the best option.

When Yun Xuan was granted permission to speak, she shot a glance at Tyler before speaking up.

"Your honor, when I got married, my marriage was fake. I didn't know such a basic thing as my husband's identity. To put it plainly, he lied to me. I only found out later when his ex-wife confronted me."

In just a few statements, she had pointed out where the hugest problem lay. Lying about one's identity wasn't a trivial matter.

As expected, Tyler's face contorted.

Yun Xuan ignored him and continued. "The most important thing in marriage is trust. But if I don't even know what my husband's surname is, how am I supposed to trust him? What if his alias is a criminal?"

"You cannot spout nonsense without evidence."

As soon as his lawyer said this, Tyler knew it was over. If she had that marriage certificate…

"I'll show the court all the evidence I have when I'm done speaking.

Yun Xuan paused what she was saying momentarily. "My son's biological father is indeed Mr. Qin."

"Then you were lying in court. How can we be so sure that you are not lying right now?"

Yun Xuan looked straight at the trouble making lawyer who was trying to weave a trap. "I did say that my son's father is Lin Ye; but when did I say that they were biologically related? Which ear of yours heard me say that?"

"Lin Ye agreed to take my son as his own. Legally, this is allowed. "

The lawyer frowned. These two had made sure to not leave any holes in their statements. Mr. Qin couldn't possibly win.

Yun XUan was not done. I'm also scared that… if my baby was brought up by a man with a character as violent and temperamental as Mr. Willows, he will grow up to be the same as him. As a mother, that would be the worst thing that would ever happen to me.

Nevermind that he refused to divorce me when I found out the truth; I can live with that. But what would happen to my son? What identity would he assume exactly?"

When she was done, she presented the evidence to the judge.

Indeed. She had a marriage certificate with the name Tyler Willows imprinted on it; while the complainant's name was obviously Qin Zhan.
