Xia and Yuwan looked into each other's eyes. Xia tucked her hair away. Yuwan too helped her. "Sorry my foot slipped." Saying this Xia tried getting up when she again fell on him. Xiu Ying just then reached there and seeing them he hid behind the wall.

Yuwan put his arm around Xia's waist and helped her in getting to sit on the sofa beside him. "Thanks," murmured Xia.

"It's fine. I know your habit of falling here and there. Do you remember high school days when there was a rainy season and I was coming home with my friends. You came running after me and your foot slipped due to which you fell over me. My friends teased us a lot." Yuwan smiled recalling the day.

"Hmm. I remember. They even teased me during the classes," muttered Xia under her breath.

"Why are you getting angry? I remember one of them told me that you slapped a guy because he teased you a lot." Yuwan laughed telling this.

"I wanted to vent out my anger which was forming inside me for so many days," murmured Xia. Yuwan smiled and then laid his head back. Closing his eyes he said, "I miss those days. We used to do a lot of fun." Xia nodded and said, "Indeed."

Xiu, who was hiding behind the wall, came forward. Xia smiled seeing him and got up from the couch.

"Uncle, you're looking happy," said Xia. Yuwan opened his eyes and then walked to him.

"Dad, It's good you came early, I was thinking of picking you up," murmured Yuwan and gently held his father's left arm.

"Uncle, do you need anything to drink or eat?," asked Xia.

"Just water," said Xiu and left for his room with Yuwan. Yuwan made him sit on the bed comfortably and then sat on the edge of the bed.

"So, did you two enjoy?," asked Yuwan. Xiu nodded and said, "the old memories were revived today. Well, a new member has also come into his family, a baby girl. He has become a grandfather. He was very happy," murmured Xiu and then looked at Yuwan.

Yuwan understood his father's reaction. "Dad, I've a date tomorrow. I'll try." Yuwan assured his father.

"Leave it. I know no matter how many dates you'll do you won't find a soulmate for yourself," stated Xiu.

Yuwan laughed hearing this. His father's expression then changed to a serious one. "Son, I want you to marry Xia." The smile on Yuwan's lips faded away and he stared at his father.

"Don't stare at me. I'm saying because I know you both will be happy. You know my condition. Soon I'll also leave this body and will go to your mother," murmured Xiu.

Xia happened to hear their talks but thought to stand outside the room.

"You know that I've hardly a month left. What will happen to you when I'll be gone? You'll be all alone…..we won't feel happy," said Xiu in a low voice.

Tears started pouring down from Yuwan's eyes. "Despite being a doctor I'm not able to save my own father's life. Dad, I don't want to lose you. I know you're worried about me. Do you know why I didn't find interest in any girl whom I went out on a date with?"

Xiu nodded and said, "I know. Those girls wanted you to leave me. But Xia is different. You've known her since childhood." Xiu reasoned her.

"I know. But I see her as a friend. I'm afraid of what if my friendship get tainted in this marriage thing," murmured Yuwan.

"Why are you thinking this way? You always listened to your father. Please marry her so that before my death I can see you two together." Xiu said. Yuwan looked into his father's eyes which looked as if he was pleading with him.

"How do you want this marriage to?," asked Yuwan, wiping his tears away.

"That thing you can decide. If your mother would be here then she would have insisted on a grand wedding. But …"

Yuwan cut his father's words and said, "I'll marry the way you two want me to. Your last wishes I want to fulfill. I will feel bad if I miss any of the things." Xiu got teary eyed hearing Yuwan's thoughts.

"You're indeed a great son. Your mother and I are always proud of you," murmured Xiu. He started coughing and blood came out of his throat. "Dad," whispered Yuwan and immediately took out his handkerchief. Xia rushed in the room and put the tray on the table there.

She sat beside Xiu from the other end. Yuwan wiped off the blood from his father's mouth and called his doctor friend, Jackson. Xia made the uncle laid down.

Xiu smiled seeing this. He took the hands of both Xia and Yuwan. "Dad," murmured Yuwan again. He smiled and put their hands together. "I want you to be together all your life. Don't leave each other's side. I know my illness is near and I don't know when I will die. Leave the grand wedding, just do a normal court marriage. Do some wedding photo shoots too," said Xiu in a low voice.

"What are you saying? I told you that I'll do a grand marriage just as you two wanted," said Yuwan with a broken voice. Xia started crying too.

"Xia, take care of my son," murmured Xiu. "Dad, stop it please. You have one whole month left," stattered Yuwan.

"I don't have any day left. Your mother and I will always love you and will always see you," said Xiu in a low voice. His father's eyes got closed while Yuwan shouted his name. Like a baby he stuck to his father's body. Xia also started crying.

"Dad, open your eyes. It's not a good thing to do," murmured Yuwan while sobbing. But there was no force that could bring back his father to life.

Lan Zhan after completing his work in the police station, called Mei Fen but she didn't pick his call. "Ying Bao, I'm leaving. See you on Monday," muttered Lan Zhan and picked his jacket, leaving from there.

"She must be in her apartment," murmured Lan Zhan and turned the car to Mei Fen's home. After an hour he reached there and rang the doorbell. Mei Fen didn't open the door so he rang the doorbell again. When she didn't come again then Lan Zhan put the door password and got in her apartment.

He saw Mei Fen was sitting on the couch with her knees close and her head over them. He went to her and whispered her name. Sitting beside her he asked, "Why weren't you opening the door?"

Mei Fen didn't say anything. "I'm alright. That was just a jerk which made me lose consciousness but then your slap…." Mei Fen raised her head to look at him which made Lan Zhan stop speaking further.

"I was scared. I thought…," murmured Mei Fen.

"I know. But you know our job," said Lan Zhan and hugged her tightly. Mei Fen put her arms on his back and buried her face into his warm chest. "I love you a lot," murmured Mei Fen.

Lan Zhan smiled hearing this. "You've become romantic after that incident. I think I should get into such situations so that you can show more love to me." Stated Lan Zhan and laughed.

Mei Fen leaned back and said, "Are you nuts? When did I not get romantic with you? You think of me as a…." Before Mei Fen could complete her words Lan Zhan crashed his lips onto hers. "Let's complete our kiss first which you left in the middle there," murmured Lan Zhan and put his hand behind her head.

She pushed him but with the other hand he grabbed her hand, putting her hand down. He started kissing her and Mei Fen reciprocated his kiss. Making her lay down on the couch he kept kissing her. He then raised his head and lovingly caressed her forehead.

"I feel good now," murmured Lan Zhan.

Mei Fen smiled and said, You always say this."

"Because you hardly show love to me. It's hard to be loved by you," said Lan Zhan in her ear.

"Then why are you in relationship with me? Go away," muttered Mei Fen in anger. Lan Zhan laughed seeing her anger. "This is the reason I feel more attracted to you. Why are you so cute?," murmured Lan Zhan and pinched her nose.

She lightly hit at his shoulder and said, "get off me. You must be hungry. Let me make something delicious for you."

"Make it later," said Lan Zhan and kissed on her face. She giggled because of this. He then placed his lips again on hers, this time more gently. Nibbling each other lips they parted away to gasp the air. Both smiled looking at each other when Lan Zhan's phone rang.

He got up from there and checked the phone. It was Mark. He answered his call immediately.

"What?," muttered Lan Zhan. Mei Fen got up from the couch and tied her hair. "I'm coming," said Lan Zhan and hung up the call.
