Hello, Mr Li: The Christmas Trip Chapter 75

When it was a few minutes past 4 in the afternoon, they finally arrived the island. A lot of people were excited to see it so they stood near the railings and watched in awe as the ship slowly approached there.
Just like the way they boarded, they were expected to leave in batches so as not to create rowdiness.
"Cheer up." Reen said to Joreen. They were both still inside their room, waiting for their batch to be called out.
"I am pissed right now!" Joreen said and hissed angrily. She was still angry at her parents for asking her to leave the room while they spoke with Hoy. She didn't know what they had said to him, and also had no idea what her father had said to Hoy since he had also asked their mother to leave.
"You should trust dad. He won't do anything to hurt you."
"I do trust him." Joreen said. "It's only that. I want to handle my things myself. I know I can handle everything that concerns me but no one is giving me a chance to. Before I even know that is happening, they have already fixed it."
Joreen shook those sad thoughts out of her head and asked, "Where did you go to earlier? I thought you were with mum and dad."
"Oh.. I wasn't with them." Reen said as she shook her head. "I met an idiot and had to take care of things." She said and recalled how she had spent those few hours.
When Hoy came earlier, she had not been pleased to see him because of everything that had happened.
The previous night, while waiting for their parents to return, she picked up her phone and that was when she saw the news. When she looked at Joreen and saw how pale her face was, she realised Joreen had also seen the news.
Joreen stood up and immediately left the room while she followed, calling after her.
"Where are you going to?" Reen had asked.
"This..." Joreen looked like she was about to break down in tears as she showed the screen to her sister. "Something about me is up again yet, they want me to stay back like a little princess."
"Maybe they are already fixing it?"
"Then they should have told me! I should know! What good is it trying to hide things from me? Is it going to change anything especially when thousands of people are already aware of it?"
Joreen entered the elevator which was to lead her directly to where Hoy's parents room was located. For some reason, she guessed they were all there.

Guilt enveloped Joreen. Because of her stubbornness, Hoy was dragged into her mess. If only she had listened to him.
It wasn't difficult to find the room because they heard raised voices which indicated that people were quarreling. When they moved closer to eavesdrop, they heard everything Hoy's mother said about her. That had made Reen angry. She had wanted to open the door to go inside but Joreen stopped her.
"Let's just return then. I shouldn't go in. It's probably going to be worse if I enter." Joreen said and began to walk away.
Joreen made up her mind that evening to not ever go close to Hoy again since she was only going to end up ruining his reputation. Hearing Joreen say that had also made Reen angry because instead of worrying about herself, Jo was worried about Hoy instead. So when she saw him standing in front of their door that noon, she wasn't pleased to see him. She decided to leave them to talk but she hadn't gone very far before she heard voices. Out of curiosity, she turned to the corner and was surprised by the scene she witnessed.
There was a young man who looked like he was in his early twenties, a girl beside him who was probably still a teenager or also in her early twenties and the last person was a guy in a waiter uniform. He was being scolded by the other guy but it looked more than a mere scolding to Reen because the boy was actually grabbing the waiter's shirt collar while the victim didn't bother to fight him off.
Since the waiter's back was to her, Reen tried to guess if that was Ning Zichu. His built looked really familiar.
"You dare hit on my girlfriend?" The boy asked, his eyes flashing with anger.
Zichu was hitting on the boy's girlfriend? Reen wondered in surprise.
She always saw the waiter as a really shy person. He didn't seem like the type to do something like that but... Zichu had been mildly hitting on her even though he knew she had a boyfriend right? Was it the same case here? Was he just pretending to be shy while he was actually looking for a way to have a plethora of rich girlfriends?
Those were possibilities, but Reen wasn't one to jump into conclusions immediately. She took out her phone and began to make a video instead. The best way to deal with cocky bastards like that bully was by having a solid proof.
"I told you I did not." Zichu said with an impatient voice. Reen noticed how his fists were tightly clenched beside him like he was doing all he could to control himself.

"Please let him be. He wasn't hitting on me. I swear it." The supposed girlfriend pleaded with her boyfriend.
"Shut up!" The boy yelled at his girlfriend before turning to look at the waiter, "You dare talk to me with that tone when you are nothing but a mere waiter? Do you know who I am? I can ruin your life without raising a finger."
"Please let him be. You are causing a scene. Someone is watching." The girl pleaded.
Her boyfriend looked past Zichu's shoulder and saw Reen making a video.
"You, get lost!" He said to her in a demanding voice.
"You must have been a bully while still in high school." Reen said as she walked towards them while still making the video. "You should let the boy go."
"Who is this crazy wench?" The boy asked as he threw Zichu to the side angrily until he fell to the floor.
Reen noticed the guy was quite tall and had a robust figure.
"Stop it please. You are going to get into trouble." His girlfriend pleaded with him but he raised a hand, almost ready to hit her but he didn't when she cowered in fear.
Reen stated wide eyed. Did he just almost hit her?
"You, come here." He signalled with his fingers for Reen to come forward. "Bring that phone."
Reen looked down at the waiter. Just like she had guessed, it was him. His lip had a small cut with blood on it. He was trying to stand up while staring at her, shaking his head for her to leave.
She stopped making the video and placed her phone inside the back pocket of her jeans.
Reen looked away from Zichu and looked at the girl instead.
She noticed the girl looked scared and was obviously shivering.
"Did he hit on you?" Reen asked the girl directly.
"He didn't." She shook her head and answered immediately.
"HOW DARE YOU!"
When the guy tried to hit his girlfriend again, Reen quickly grabbed his hand.
"I'm sure you would like to be reported to the authorities."
The boy snickered derisively. "Do you know who I am? I'm Wei Chan. My family literally owns this ship. So tell me who exactly is going to punish me? You think that video of yours is going to change anything?" He asked in a cocky tone.
Reen's eyes widened and she immediately let go of him. "You are the son of the CEO of Wei corporation? Oh my goodness! I had no idea. I am so sorry!" Reen bowed while the guy smirked smugly.
"Was that what you expected me to say?" Reen asked with a cold voice as she raised her head to look at him with dark eyes.
"You are nothing but a piece of shit who bully weak people because of your family status. In a simpler sentence... YOU. ARE. DISGUSTING."
The boy's eyes showed killing intent and he raised his hand to hit Reen but his hand was grabbed again, not by Reen this time, but by Zichu.
"Do not touch her." Zichu warned. His voice sounded really scary that even Reen had to look at him to be sure it was the same person who was being bullied just now.
"Let go! You son a bitch." Wei Chan said as he tried to pull his hand away from the waiter's grip but he could not.
"I said let go, you bastard!!!" He shrieked angrily.
"Maybe you wouldn't be punished here, but I know really good peoole who are interested in publishing news like this about spoilt brats like you. It's going to be a piece of cake to ruin your family's reputation with this and guess who is going to punish you?" She asked with a mischievous grin, "Your lovely father."
"I will kill you." The boy threatened her.
"I will be waiting for you to do so." Reen shrugged. "If I notice you bullying anyone, the headlines is going to be all about you and your family."
"Come back here you crazy wench!" He called at the top of his voice when Reen began to walk away. Zichu pushed him roughly until he hit his back on the wall and wailed but the waiter didn't mind. He ran to catch up with Reen while Chan kept spewing cuss word. Even his supposed girlfriend took the opportunity to run away from him.
"Thank you." Zichu said when he caught up with Reen.
"For?" Reen turned to look at him. "You seemed pretty strong. Why did you let him bully you?".
"I... am an employee here."
Only that sentence explained a lot.
She nodded and turned around to leave.
"I... wasn't hitting on her." He quickly explained.
"I never asked." Reen answered without turning around to look at him.
He sighed as he watched her retreating figure. How many times did he have to remind himself that she was way out of his league?

The Ruined Monks of Rothfield Monastery
Erin is the youngest member of the dark monks; a supernatural brotherhood whose ultimate mission is to improve the dire circumstances of poor, war-torn villages using powers unique to each member. Or so he was led to believe. Erin, like his brothers, does not age, and that is, unfortunately, the only trait he shares with them. He cannot charm or compel like Woodrow, he cannot cast illusions like Knox, he was not swift like Swithin, not powerful like Blake. He was barely an assistant to his dear brother Wilbur, with his herbology and alchemy. He was told to lie low and make himself scarce. That is what he did. The dark monks temporarily reside in abandoned monasteries scattered around the country, feeding the poor and healing the sick, nurturing the monastic lands until it was fertile enough to raise crops and rear animals. As the years passed, they would leave these reformed, repopulated, self-sustaining monasteries and venture froth to help the next settlement. Yet, after years of toiling and quiet servitude, Erin notices that people and the country itself are declining. The villagers look gaunt, the once-lush soil now barren and cracked. He begins to feel disheartened, thinking that their mission is proving futile. Still, their leader Blake is steadfast and charges onward, and lately has his eyes set on a certain monastery in a thick, thorned forest that seems to diminish, even nullify their powers. A thick forest that Erin somehow has a connection to. A thorned glade where an ethereal voice calls his name with one simple request along with a promise:Heal the land, child. Heal the land and I promise to give you sanctuary so long as you stay. I promise to nurture you as you nurture me. As Erin cultivates the land, the land, in turn, gifts all its caretakers with new, enhanced skillsets on top of their unique powers -- skills of protection, healing, and magic. Magic. Erin had long wished to see the world fill with it again. The people, regardless of common or noble blood, still believe that magic will enter this world again. Magic to bless the king like it did the Saints. Magic to dispel the miasma befouling the world. Magic to bring back the fae folk and their many forms. It is up to Erin to forge the many paths leading to a bright future; to build a prosperous paradise that welcomes all races and bloodlines, by mastering the rewards gained through agriculture, horticulture, and animal husbandry, smithing, crafting, and fishing. Erin may also find a lifelong friendship and romance with his neighbor, Claude, if he decides to pursue him, and may even join him in the military campaign outside the monastery. The darkness still lurks outside, after all, and the mastery of his skills, along with a few good friends, may finally be enough to turn the tide in their favor. Most of all, Erin wants to keep the vow he set for himself: to protect everyone and everything he loves until his dying breath.
