Chasing After My Wife Chapter 48

"She can't be considered missing if it's not 24 hours yet after her disappearance! You know that Lucian!" Chief Quinn yelled at him as he slammed his record book on the table. His face was red from anger but Lucian didn't listen to him at all.
"I will hold you accountable if something happens to her! Don't send me to any mission until I find my sister!" Lucian turned around and left, slamming the door shut in the process.
Many officers heard their argument and didn't know which side to take. They knew Lucian was protective of that little girl as it was Cielo's sister. He even made a special and customized tracking device for her which would send an alert if her phone can't sense her pulse within 5 meters.
This noon, during their lunch break, his phone made a beeping sound and Jillyanna's name appeared with an alert. Lucian was shocked silly since it was the first time it happened. They cannot take any chances to risk her life.
Nobody can understand his feelings during the night 3 years ago. Cielo with tear-streaked eyes was begging him to find Jillyanna but they couldn't report her missing because it wasn't 24 hours yet.
It's normal for some people to lose communication from time to time but in Jillyanna's case, she would always give Cielo a call or a text message within 3 hours interval. However, that day, Cielo didn't get any message or call from her for over half a day which made her worry.
He should've believed in women's instinct when it comes to sensing danger because when 24 hours hit the mark, they started looking for her but it was almost, too late.
Any seconds later, she would've dropped off from a seventh storey building. She was working on a project that time and was on her way back home, there's no abnormality to her tracking device and nobody thought she'd be in such state when they found her.

Jillyanna's face was a mess, her body was full of bruises and wounds and her eyes were black and blue. She was tied to a pole on the rooftop and the pole's base was loose and rusty. If they didn't come on time, if they didn't catch her, she would've fallen to the ground with the pole.
Many people knew that she finished a degree in Business Management and that's why she and Cielo worked together with their business. Only, Cielo and Lucian knew that she also studied criminology.
She would sometimes follow suspicious people and report it to Lucian's father which made them proud of her.
That incident almost broke up Cielo and Lucian's engagement. If not because of Jillyanna trying to pacify the both of them, they wouldn't get married at all.
Thinking about the past, not only Lucian was gloomy and worried but also the other officers who knew Jillyanna's identity as a fellow cop.
Lucian was about to go out of the North District Police Station when several cars came stopping in front of the building. Men in black suits came out and formed a protective barrier before a black Rolls-Royce car.
Travis Madrigal came out with a cold and menacing face. His eyes were dark and it's clear that he wasn't in a good mood at all. Soon, Diego Sandoval came out with the same dark face as Travis.
He walked towards him which made Lucian frown. He didn't have much time to deal with him at all. His annoyed face was clear and he was about to ignore him when Travis spoke.
"I need your help to find my wife, Mr. Seville." His voice was so cold like frost but there was seriousness and sincere plea that Lucian couldn't ignore.
Diego can't help but snickered to this statement. Travis was getting more and more shameless while calling Jillyanna his wife. The woman didn't want to get involved with him at all. She even tried to escape several times. It's really a laughing matter but Diego also knew how much Travis loves that woman.

Lucian closed the car door that he just opened. He turned towards Travis with an 'I'm sorry' look he could muster. "Mr. Madrigal, I am thankful for your assistance in getting evidence for the case of your mother and Elizabeth Summer, but I can't help you right now. Please ask someone else in the station. My little sister is in serious trouble and I need to find her immediately. I am really sorry."
"It's because your sister is in trouble that I am asking you this." Travis responded which stunned the other officers who heard him. The underlying meaning was very clear to them.
"Cough! Cough! Cough!" Lucian tried clearing his throat after choking on his own saliva. Such news wasn't easy to accept. How the hell did it happen? "We don't have much time. Follow me so we can talk at home."
If what Travis said was true, then Jillyanna was indeed in troublesome situation. Of all people she could hook up with, why did it have to be Travis? The person that she hated the most. Didn't she know? Did he know?
Lucian's mind was full of question but he stayed clear-headed as he drove his car back to the Madrid's mansion. Sky and Alex were surprised to see so many expensive cars outside their house following behind Lucian.
"What's going on?" Sky asked when she saw several men walked inside their house and some stayed outside to guard.
"It's a long story mom but one thing is for sure, Yanna is in danger." Lucian answered before leading the men to a small monitoring room in the basement. Sky collapsed from shock and Alex asked someone to help him carry his wife to the couch. Someone from the men, provided first aid assistance and she regained her consciousness.
Cielo, who didn't go to work that day, heard the commotion outside her room so she came out to check out.
"What happened mom?" she asked her mother who was now crying.
"Cielo, Yanna is in danger. Lucian and some men were inside the monitoring room to find her. What if it will happen again? What if someone's trying to kill her again?" Her sobbing was so loud that Alex didn't know how to stop her.
Cielo's facial expression changed and she ran as fast as she could to the monitoring room. Lucian was hovering the mouse to some areas and zoomed them in to see what's going on. She saw a man standing behind him with a serious face. She couldn't see his face clearly at first but when he turned around to see who came in, Cielo was dumbstruck!
"What are you doing here Mr. Madrigal?" she couldn't help but asked him while walking towards Lucian's side. Her eyes were scanning him up and down which was obvious to everyone.
"I am asking help to find my wife. It's indeed the right place." Cielo looked towards Lucian to understand what he meant but her husband just shrugged his shoulders helplessly.
'WHAT THE HELL'S GOING ON?!' Cielo exclaimed internally to vent out her confusion.

I was just like everyone else. At least, I thought so. Everyone grew up in a mansion with servants, trained to be a debutante, had a traveling archeologist for a father, and gave it all up to do whatever the hell they wanted. Right? Well that’s what I did. I was happy. As happy as a single twenty four year old girl can be living in an apartment selling shit online to pay the bills. Not actual shit, that's gross. No, I bought stuff from garage sales, thrift stores, and junk shops, and resold it in my online store. I was pretty good at finding stuff to peddle to my customers. I made rent every month and didn’t have to strip. I’m a bit too chunky to swing around a pole anyway. Life was great! Until two sexy men broke into my apartment and woke me up from the most erotic dream my sexually depraved mind could come up with. One was between my legs, the other was... Oh well, it was a dream and I didn’t even get to finish it. Those bastards! Now I’m supposed to believe my dead father wasn’t an archeologist, but some kind of paranormal agent working for a secret organization called The Guard. My ability to find items for my customers is just a perk inherited from him. And I’m supposed to use my inherited powers to save the world. All while these hunks of man flesh guard me from other paranormals out to get whatever the hell they think I have. A certain body part is dripping with excitement, literally. But my mind is saying “Hell No!”
