Chasing After My Wife Chapter 49

The monitoring room had six large computers with a single keyboard and mouse. There were two red dots on the screen. One was inside the mansion, which was Cielo's and the other one was somewhere outside the city which was Jillyanna's.
"Savannah told me that several people rushed towards Jillyanna at the cemetery. When she looked for her, she was no where to be found. There's only her left shoe on the ground which made her think she was kidnapped." Travis summarized the events to them so that they would get an idea as to what initially happened.
"I received an alert during lunch break but we cannot report her as missing if it's not beyond the 24-hour mark. I believe her phone was thrown away." as he spoke to them, he enlarged the area where the signal stopped.
It was a vast forest outside the city which would lead them to suburban place called Independencia. There were few inhabitants in that place but most of them were well-known people in politics and medicine. It was a second-tier class when it comes to societal hierarchy after the businessmen in the city.
"You have to find her as soon as possible! You can't let anything to happen to her again!" Cielo warned Lucian with a glare and a pinch on his waist.
"I know. I promise. I will make sure to get her on time." Lucian answered while getting ready to find Jillyanna after marking the places that she's probably in.
"Wait, this place seems familiar." Lucian mentioned while trying to think of a clue or link to the place but there was none.
Travis who remained silent while watching the monitors spoke to them, "Did something happen to her in the past?" He wasn't looking at them but his gaze was fixed on the red dot that kept on blinking.

Lucian recalled to him what happened 3 years ago which was the reason why they made this monitoring room and placed a special tracking device on her.
It's not because they didn't trust Jillyanna's capability but because Jillyanna would ruin everything that they have if she's gone. They can't afford to lose her. She's their missing link that keeps them intact, without her, their world will start to crumble.
Jillyanna wasn't weak either. She's strong and smart woman so they knew they'd be able to find her soon with a little bit of time from her side.
"We still have one chance to find her." Travis spoke with a little bit of hope, but thinking how much she hates him, his hope was depleting like a balloon being pricked with needle.
Lucian and Cielo looked at him with questioning gaze. So he continued speaking, "The last gift I gave her has a tracking device. Just like what you put on her phone, that device will activate once she placed it on her wrist using her pulse. However, it had been silent for weeks now. I don't think she'll wear it in such situation."
"Was it the red-strapped bracelet?" Cielo asked with a bit of hope as well. Travis nodded his head and right after that, Cielo ran to Jillyanna's room to check if she left it or if she brought it with her.
"None!" she whispered to herself after checking her bedside drawer. "None." she mumbled again after finding that her favorite bag was no where to be found. She pulled out her phone and called Jenny who was currently cooking at home.
"Hi sister Cielo, do you need something?" Jenny greeted her after turning off the stove.
"Where are you now? Can you check Jillyanna's house? I need you to find a bracelet? It has a red strapped and heart shaped stone." Cielo stated quickly while running back to the basement.

Jenny was silent for a moment while trying to form her words. After a while, her soft and confused voice came through the phone's speaker, "Big sis asked me last time to get it in her apartment. She told me that she's going to return it to the owner. Is there a problem with it?"
"You mean it's with her?"
"Well yeah. That's if she didn't leave her bag."
"Okay. Thank you so much for your help." Cielo hang up and approached Travis. "Can you ask Savannah if Jillyanna was bringing a bag with her?"
Travis didn't wait for more details. He contacted Savannah right in front of them to ask about Jillyanna's bag. It was confirmed that she did bring her bag but they haven't found it which was a great news!
"Let's go the location of the tracking device for now. If we find more clues, it would take us less time to go wherever she is right now." Travis stated and Lucian agreed immediately. It's better if they have more men than him looking for her alone.
Travis dispatched his men to check on all the possible areas near the marked signal to find Jillyanna. Brown and Valkyrie led their men to a different place, Savannah and Hawk had their own area to check and Travis came with Lucian.
They first visited the forest to find where the phone was thrown out. Lucian and Travis had some gloves on while looking for the phone. Some police officers who were supposedly on day off, came to help him as well.
Soon, many onlookers and passersby stopped to see what's going on. They were curious to see what happened and dismayed when they saw them getting a phone back.
"What's the matter with police officers now? Dispatching so many people for a phone?" complained one of the men who stopped from cycling to look over them.
"It should be a piece of evidence! Why else would they try their best to find it." another man exclaimed which was actually right.
The crowd started dispersing from the place. A black van stopped and a handsome man came down and walked towards them.
"Mr. Police officer, what's going on here?" he asked with curiosity while looking attentively to the cellphone inside the sealed plastic bag.
Lucian turned to him before answering. "A woman was kidnapped and the tracking device stopped here. We found her phone but we don't know where she is yet."
"That's really sad. I hope she's fine." he stated with an innocent face.
"We all hope, too." Lucian responded to him. The man asked few more questions before leaving, promising to report any suspicious activity in the area.
When he got inside his car, his eyes were cold and a sinister smile formed on his lips.

Where Giants Fall
A fantasy LitRPG about traversing through worlds and slaying giants with nothing but a wooden suit and an army of treants. Nicholas Atkins didn't expect to wake up naked in the glowing woods. What he did expect was waking up to a hangover after last night's party- fortunately, that wasn't the case. Unfortunately though, he had worse problems to take care of than a headache. At first he blamed it on the alcohol; from what he recalled in Biology, glowing flowers didn't exactly exist in the realm of reality. However he was as sober as he could be, so next he blamed the drugs, but there was a problem- he didn't have the money to do drugs in the first place. When the fairies came, things became even weirder. Talks of climbing towers, magic tricks, and dinner were all on the table. Of course, dinner was the priority, but so was getting back home. However slowly, Nico realized that he might actually want to stay in this fantasy world. After all, he's had enough listening to Professor Paul's lecture on calculus- the swords and sorceries were just an added bonus. Still, staying in this new world has its own costs- and money is but one thing on that long, long list. Updated everyday except Saturday GMT+8 (Specific time varies by around 30 minutes). Mordheim: Servants of The Damned (A Warhammer Fantasy Fiction)
“The Great Library,” Stated the stranger with a pause. “You know of it?”“Of course I do. In the Merchant’s Quarter?”“Yes, in the Merchant’s Quarter. I have gathered that there is an… artefact of importance within its walls.” Slowly, the figure produced a rusted key from the furls of his robes and held it in a black-gloved hand. “This opens the door to its chambers. It is the grimoire of Gunnar von Krugenheim, and I believe that it would serve better in the world than locked away in a dusty room.” Behind the cursed walls of Mordheim, warbands and gangs of all stripes are embattled in constant wars for resources and power. The cursed city attracts throngs in the thousands, searching for treasures, artefacts, power, and sometimes all three. The Cult of the Hidden Brethren is no exception, and when an opportunity to extend their reach is discovered, the cultists are eager to take the opportunity. However, not all is set in stone, and soon the cultists discover that the lure of power alone may not be enough to give them the drive required to see their quest done... --- Mordheim: Servants of the Damned is a fanfiction set in the world of Warhammer Fantasy, which is not owned by me but by the company Games Workshop. I of course, lay claim to nothing in this story but the characters I have created, and the core events of the story itself. This is my first true foray into fantasy writing, let alone Warhammer Fantasy, therefore any feedback is welcome. (It should be noted as well, the cover art is merely an artwork I found online and is not mine, therefore I do not lay claim to that either.)
