Chasing After My Wife Chapter 85

"Jillyanna what happened?" Panic was evident in Travis' voice as he slammed his fist on the door. "Open the door please."
"I can't. You have to help me. I'm bleeding!" her cry was so clear to his ear this time. She was scared and in panic just like him. "Calm down Jillyanna. Calm down. Don't panic. That's what doctors said on the book. Don't panic. Think calmly." she whispered to herself while breathing in and out but her mind was in jumbled mess.
The three men at the kitchen heard him shouting so they came up immediately. Hawk used a tiny pin to fiddle on the door knob so they can open it.
"Someone prepare the car. I need to send her to the hospital. Contact Cheska now." Travis spoke with clear agitation on his voice. His hands were shaking and he was scared. This was the second time he felt such cold and scary feeling.
The first time was when he found out she has CHD and caused her to faint. And now, he caused her bleeding.
"I'll drive." It was Valkyrie who volunteered since Brown just got home and needed to rest.
Jillyanna couldn't think of anything. She kept wiping the blood on her thighs with the blanket on her bed. She no longer cared about the mess and dirt she made.
"Baby, please hang in there. If you leave me, I will really kick your daddy until he's crippled. I will never forgive him. Please don't go. Please don't leave me. My child, please stay with me." It didn't matter if her baby can't hear her but she still talked and murmured despite the tears and blurry vision.
Hawk, Travis and Brown were still trying to open the knob. Left with no choice, with all his strength and energy, using the full force of his body, Travis slammed his upper body on the door. He kicked it as hard as he can multiple times until he was feeling numb from the soreness and pain.

The hinges broke and the door was blown opened towards her room. He ran to her and saw her bleeding on bed. He wrapped her up with the blanket and carried her off, walk down the stairs and got into the car that Valkyrie had prepared.
"Travis, I can't live without the baby. If something happens to our child, I will never forgive you." she stated while clutching her stomach, as if by doing so, she can stop the bleeding.
"Shh. It will be alright. Our baby will be safe. Just hang in there. Will be at the hospital in no time." he murmured, kissing her forehead and face which was the only part of her body that was shown.
She really wanted to calm down but her tears won't stop from falling every time she thinks of the possibility that she'd lose her baby.
"I have called Cheska but she was currently out of the city for a seminar. She helped us contact the emergency and there are doctors awaiting us." Valkyrie informed them as he continued to drive on the road. His driving over the speed limit already and would be penalize once caught. In any case, they've got valid reason for doing so.
Jillyanna was sobbing silently in Travis arms. She was talking to her child mentally and didn't care about Travis kissing her face or her forehead.
About ten minutes later, Valkyrie stopped the car in front of the emergency area of Senyu Medical Center. Travis came out with Jillyanna still wrapped up using the blanket.
Two doctors and three nurses came to their aid with a stretcher to place Jillyanna on.
"What happened to the patient?" The doctor asked immediately while helping him with Jillyanna.
He placed her carefully on the bed and they started pushing the stretcher to the emergency room. "She had excessive bleeding. She's pregnant and we're worried she'll have miscarriage. Please save my wife and my child." Travis responded to the doctor.

"Alright. Please stay outside. We'll do our best to save both of them." The senior doctor commented and went inside the room, closing the door behind, leaving Travis and Valkyrie at the corridor.
Travis was pacing back and forth in front of the emergency room. He was worried, scared and helpless at the same time. He was happy that she acknowledged him as the father of her child when she said 'our child' earlier but, if something happens to the baby, he will definitely lose her.
"I know you are worried about her but, can you please take a seat? I'm getting dizzy with you pacing back and forth." Valkyrie commented with a heavy sigh.
Travis did as he was told and sat on the bench beside Valkyrie.
"Matt, I can't forgive myself if something happens to her. I have done so many hurtful things to her already. I caused her so much pain but I can't let her go. Not now. Not ever. I have regretted what I have done in the past and losing her this time would make me go crazy! I can't lose her!"
Matt gently patted his shoulder to send his comfort. "The road you chose to take won't be easy just how I chose to go with Brown when my father disagreed with this. Don't give up on her. This is the second chance that was given to you. We will always be here to watch your back and support you."
Travis was silent with his eyes closed. His hair was a mess and his shirt was a little wet from the rain earlier. He hadn't changed his pants yet.
Valkyrie took out his phone and called Hawk to send a change of clothes for Travis.
While he was taking a call, one of the doctors came out with a clipboard and sheets of paper.
"Please sign this consent form. We will try as much as we could to save both the mother and child but there's still a chance that you'd lose your baby. Please understand that she had an excessive bleeding."
A tear fell on the sheet when Travis was filling out the consent form. The thought of losing the child gripped his heart. It was his and Jillyanna's baby, the life that's keeping them together.
"Please do your best to save them. I'm willing to pay no matter the cost is." he begged the doctor on his knees which shocked both Valkyrie and the other two nurses who just came out from a different emergency room.

An Unwavering Craftsman
Given the hereditary nature of classes, everyone expects Damien—the child of two high-tiered adventurers—to be granted a high-tier combat class of his own. Expectations are betrayed, however, when Damien finds himself instead saddled with a crafting class of the lowest possible tier: [Neophyte Tailor]. Left practically crippled compared to those with better classes, Damien wants to avoid becoming a pawn in the machinations of the nobility, desiring only to grind his level in peace while wondering why the usual rules of inheritance were broken. Was it his desire to excel by his own effort, rather than an unearned blessing from a god? Did the Five take offence at his opinions on the unfairness of hereditary classes? Or maybe it was something to do with the alien voice that intruded on his ceremony? A voice that offers great power, and freedom from the tyranny of the Five, but that never names its price. This story is litRPG-lite. While the class someone possesses controls most of their lives, people don't get dinged at for every level they gain, nor can they see their status without undergoing a special ritual. The MC has no romantic interest. Crafting is merely a way to game the system, and doesn't feature heavily in the story, aside from a few descriptions on how they're carrying out the system abuse. There is, on one unfortunate occasion, maths. The pace is quick. This was a participant in the Spring 2022 writathon. (i.e. it was posted as-written at high speed. I may give it another editing pass in the future.)
