“Elder Brother Li…” Ye Tianxin went to sit down while she spoke. She said softly, “I sent you a message. Have you read it? My mock exams are over…”

Li Qingcang asked, “Are you confident about them?”

“I had a good teacher. It wasn’t difficult.” Tianxin smiled.

Li Qingcang sat in his office, holding a pen in his hand. A hint of warmth formed in his eyes when he heard Ye Tianxin’s lively voice.

“Are you that confident?”

“What is it?” Li Qingcang asked

“Elder Brother Li, we are going to build a winery in the town of Jiameng. We will develop the town into a tourist spot. Elder Brother Li, I even wrote a proposal, and CEO Jing said that I was a business prodigy. Say, do you think I would be neglecting my business talent if I were to work for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs?”

“He’s just praising you for something that he thought you did right. Little Tianxin, you are still a student and your studies are your priority, okay?”

Ye Tianxin nodded. Her grip on the phone tightened, and a shy expression formed on her lovely face.

“Elder Brother Li, are you busy recently? Have you been eating regularly? Grandmother said that she will teach me how to make cloth shoes. I shall make you a pair then. What do you think? Oh, what is your shoe size?”

Li Qingcang could not bear for Ye Tianxin to make cloth shoes. One could buy anything with money nowadays. Making cloth shoes was a waste of time.

“Don’t learn how to make cloth shoes!”

Ye Tianxin, however, refused Li Qingcang’s good intentions. “Elder Brother Li, I want to learn,” she insisted. “Grandmother is one of the few people who inherited the Jiameng embroidery skill. If I don’t learn this, this form of embroidery will be obsolete. There are so many interesting things in the country that have been forgotten because no one wants to do them. In the future, I want more people to learn Jiameng embroidery.”

Li Qingcang did not know why, but an image of Ye Tianxin’s expression came to his mind as he talked to her.

She must be very serious.

She must be just as serious as she had been when she had said that she wanted to be a diplomat.

Li Qingcang did not doubt whether Ye Tianxin could do it or not. It was because he believed that Ye Tianxin would definitely be able to do it.

She would definitely be able to bring Jiameng Town’s embroidery to every corner of this world.

“Tianxin, you will succeed!”

“Elder Brother Li…”

“What’s the matter?” Li Qingcang asked worriedly.

“Nothing. I just wanted to say your name. Elder Brother Li, I made a bet with Ye Youran.”

“What did you bet on?”

Ye Tianxin laughed and said, “The person who loses has to do a rabbit dance on stage, during the flag-raising ceremony on Monday.”

“You’re going to win for sure!”

Ye Tianxin laughed. “You can’t say that. We have to remain unassuming before the scores come out.”

Li Qingcang’s fatigue went away as he spoke with Ye Tianxin.

Ye Tianxin’s voice was as clear as a songbird and was like a sort of relief to him.

Meanwhile, a young woman stood by the door. She was about to knock when she heard the man’s relaxed voice coming from the office.

She had never known that Li Qingcang could treat another girl so gently.

She had never known that Li Qingcang could listen to another girl talk about mundane things so patiently.
