Yan Ge said to Li Qingcang, “Sir, you and Little Tianxin only have half an hour. I will wait for you in the other car. See you soon, Little Tianxin.”

Li Qingcang nodded.

Yan Ge opened the door, got out of the car, and walked towards the other SUV.

Yan Lili asked Yan Ge the moment he got into the car, “Is she the girl who saved Captain Li?”

‘No, she isn’t adorable—at least to me,’ Yan Lili thought. She continued, “Is Captain Li interested in Little Tianxin?”

“That’s impossible,” Yan Ge answered, surprised at Yan Lili’s question. “Elder Sister Lili, Captain Li can’t be interested in Little Tianxin.”

Yan Ge thought that the age gap between Li Qingcang and Ye Tianxin was just too big.

Given his knowledge of Li Qingcang, Captain Li would not do anything to Ye Tianxin. She was too young.

“Is that so?”

Yan Lili’s heart was filled with bitterness.

Did he not like Tianxin?

He turned off the engine.

Ye Tianxin had been back in the town of Jiameng for a couple of days now, and she wanted to look at the things her mother had left behind.

Li Qingcang nodded.

“Alright.”

Li Qingcang sent Ye Tianxin to the courtyard.

“I have to go now. I won’t come inside and see Grandmother. Take good care of yourself. Remember to rest from time to time.”

Li Qingcang patted Ye Tianxin’s head. The warmth of his palms caused mixed emotions in Ye Tianxin. She was suddenly in tears.

“Why are you crying?”

Ye Tianxin did not know why she was crying.

Perhaps it was because she could not bear for Li Qingcang to leave…

Or perhaps she felt that there was still one more person in this world who was so good to her. He was so kind to her that she did not know how to repay him.

Li Qingcang used his hanky to wipe away Ye Tianxin’s tears.

He seemed even gentler then.

Ye Tianxin cried even harder.

“Are you upset?”

Ye Tianxin nodded. That’s right. She was upset. She couldn’t believe that so many people in her school were in doubt of her abilities.

“Tianxin, prove them wrong with your scores for the actual college entrance exams.”

Ye Tianxin then stretched out her arms and hugged Li Qingcang tightly.

When she hugged him, Li Qingcang stiffened for some reason.

After a moment, he relaxed and patted Ye Tianxin’s back lightly.

“Be good. I will visit you again next time when I have time.”

Ye Tianxin did not speak. She could not bear for Li Qingcang to leave.

She just could not bear it.

She wanted to be close to him. She wanted to hug him until the end of days and to never part with him.

The sound of his beating heart was right next to her ear. It felt like music to her.
