An odd feeling flashed through Ye Tianxin’s heart as she listened to the sound of Li Qingcang’s beating heart.

“Stay safe, Elder Brother Li.”

When Guan Chenxi saw that Ye Tianxin was home, she said, “Tianxin, Grandmother has gone to bed. Let me make you supper.”

“Thank you, Elder Sister Chenxi.”

Guan Chenxi smiled shyly. “There’s no need to thank me. I am getting paid for this after all.”

Guan Chenxi used to cook in the military, and her cooking was pretty decent.

Guan Chenxi was in charge of the chores and cooking after she came to stay with Ye Tianxin.

Ye Tianxin carried the case to her room and placed it on her desk. She switched on the desk lamp and sat down.

Ye Tianxin lifted the lid of the leather case gently.

Other than some of Ye Linlang’s clothing, there was a box that contained a military medal and also a notebook.

Ye Tianxin looked at the medal and thought that her father was really awesome. He must have suffered a lot to get a first-class military merit medal.

The medal looked prestigious. Ye Tianxin pinned it to her chest. She felt as if she could be closer to her father like that.

Ye Tianxin put down the medal and took out the notebook. There were many entries in the notebook that were written in black ink using a fountain pen.

Ye Tianxin took off her shoes and then climbed onto the bed. She read the diary silently.

June 10. Weather: Sunny

Ning: Today is the 100th day of our meeting. You gave me a rose.

You said that this means that you will love me and only me forever. I am very happy.

My dearest Ning, even though we only met briefly before you had to return to the army, I know that you truly love me.
