Chapter 167: Ye Tianxin Was Humiliated (1)

“Yan Lili, you really should look into the mirror and see how you look right now.”

Li Qingcang’s voice was cold and unfeeling. Yan Lili felt that she meant nothing to him.

But her heart… Her heart was full of him.

She liked him.

She loved him.

She could not control how she felt. The more she stayed with him, the more she liked him.

Her eyes were drawn to him.

She wanted to stay with him.

“Captain Li, I want to be with you,” Yan Lili declared. “I like you. I will not give you up. I will compete fairly with Ye Tianxin!”

Li Qingcang was speechless. He didn’t know what to tell Yan Lili. He only doted on Ye Tianxin as if she were his younger sister.

He did not want to provoke Yan Lili.

It was not because he was afraid of Yan Lili.

It was because he was afraid that if Yan Lili were to be too headstrong about this, she might hurt Ye Tianxin.

“Yan Lili, even if you were to compete fairly with a thousand or ten thousand women, I will not… I will not be with you.”

“But why? What’s wrong with me?”

Yan Lili was once again hurt by Li Qingcang’s rejection.

“Don’t you know? If this happens again, I will lodge an application with the political commissar for a new psychologist.”

Li Qingcang got back into his SUV and drove off.

Yan Lili was left standing alone where they had stood. She looked at the wide river in a distance. The setting sun shone on the surface of the river. It looked as if someone had scattered gold powder on the water’s surface.

There was a red sun between the mountains. The sun was gradually setting.

The red sun glowed, rendering the sky with a beautiful color.

Yan Lili leaned against her car. Her eyes were terrifyingly empty.

She had been doted on since she was a child and had always gotten what she wanted…

She wanted Li Qingcang, and she wouldn’t take no for an answer!

Yan Lili seemed to have thought things through. She got back into her car and drove in the opposite direction of Li Qingcang.

The night was beautiful in the quiet little town. However, Yan Lili was in no mood to enjoy it. Images of Li Qingcang and Ye Tianxin spending time together flashed through her mind.

The various images played like a beautiful but heartbreaking movie.

When Yan Lili finally came to her senses, her car was already parked downstairs of Ye Tianxin’s apartment.

Yan Lili got out of the car.

She walked to the courtyard. A few children were playing in the yard.

Yan Lili stood in the yard for a while. The cool night breeze caressed her face. She hesitated for a moment before she started walking once more, preparing to head upstairs.

She had only walked up less than three steps when she saw Ye Tianxin holding a little bamboo basket that contained some buns. Ye Tianxin approached a unit on the third floor.

Knock, knock.

Ye Tianxin knocked on the door.

Somebody opened the door. Ye Tianxin said to Di Shanshi’s mother sweetly, “Good day, Mother Di. I am Di Shanshi’s classmate. Thank you for helping us find a place to stay for a while. My grandmother made these buns. Please try them.”

Di Shanshi’s mother wore a western dress with a flared bottom. She had a mask on her face. When she saw Ye Tianxin, she took off the mask and looked at Ye Tianxin in an unfriendly manner.

“Ye Tianxin, do you have time to speak with me?”

Ye Tianxin felt that there was something off with Di Shanshi’s mom. “Sure,” she agreed.

Mrs. Di took the bamboo basket and placed it on a table. She gestured for Ye Tianxin to sit down.

“Ye Tianxin,” she began. “I want you to stay away from my son, Di Shanshi.”
