“Yes, I like him, Ye Tianxin. I like him.”

Ye Tianxin suddenly laughed when she heard Ye Youran’s admission.

She let go of Ye Youran. “Then it is truly a pity. Even if you like him, you cannot be with him.”

“If you die, I can be with Di Shanshi.” Ye Youran honestly believed it.

Ye Youran hoped so badly that Ye Tianxin would die in that fire. If Ye Tianxin were to die, Aunt Zhu would not compare her with Ye Tianxin and she would not be Di Shanhi’s apple of the eye.

Why hadn’t she died?

“You are really ignorant.” Ye Tianxin sat down indifferently. She looked at Ye Youran’s pale face and continued, “Even if I don’t exist, Di Shanshi will not be with you. That is because, to Di Shanshi’s mother, no girl who is good enough for her perfect son!”

“You’re lying!” Ye Youran replied, annoyed at Ye Tianxin.

“Ye Youran, don’t you know that as well?” Ye Tianxin said mockingly. “If you want to die, then die without being a burden to anybody else. If you want to live, then do so peacefully. Don’t let me look down on you.”

Tears suddenly welled up in Ye Youran’s eyes. Then they trickled on her face.

Ye Tianxin walked out of the ward and left the hospital.

She realized why Ye Youran had done poorly on the college entrance examinations in her past life. It likely had something to do with Di Shanshi.

Ye Tianxin walked to the entrance of the hospital and saw Guan Chenxi waiting for her in the car nearby.

“Tianxin…”

Guan Chenxi got Ye Tianxin to get into the car. Then, she drove Ye Tianxin to a construction site.

Ye Tianxin was confused. “Elder Sister Chenxi, why did you take me here?”

“Your classmate, Di Shanshi, is here…”

Ye Tianxin was stunned. Di Shanshi was in the city. He didn’t go that far.

She walked into the construction site and asked a worker where Di Shanshi was. The worker called, “Di Shanshi, someone’s here for you!”

Di Shanshi was carrying a bag of cement upstairs. He only walked up to Ye Tianxin sometime later. He was surprised to see Ye Tianxin standing on an empty lot in the construction site. He hesitated to walk up to her at first, but he was also delighted to see her.

“Ye Tianxin, how…how did you know I was here?”

Ye Tianxin looked at Di Shanshi. He was wearing filthy clothes. He was covered in dirt. Ye Tianxin felt bad for Di Shanhi. He should be in school preparing for the college entrance exams like her.

“Di Shanshi, can we talk?”

Di Shanshi blushed. He went to the foreman to ask for a break. Then, he and Ye Tianxin went to a park nearby.

Ye Tianxin’s eyes were filled with worry.

“Your mother came to look for me after you ran away from home. She slapped me in front of the entire class…”

Di Shanshi was embarrassed by his mother’s deeds. He had not expected his mother to do something like that, especially to Ye Tianxin.

“I…Ye…Tianxin… I am sorry.”

If he had not told his mother that he liked Ye Tianxin, his mother would not have gotten angry at her.

“Di Shanshi, did you run away from home just to come and transport bricks at the construction site? If you did, then shame on you!”

Ye Tianxin took out a bank card and placed it in front of Di Shanshi.

“This bank card is for you. It has 50,000 in it. You can take the money to make investments, or you can go back to school and continue studying. Di Shanshi, your life is before you. How it will turn out depends on the decision you make now…”

Di Shanshi refused to accept the bank card. “I…I don’t need this. I can make money on my own.”
