After returning to school, the class monitor had the students go out to buy some sunflower seeds, fruits, and other snacks.

The class monitor was a boy.

When he spoke, he sounded as if something was stuck in his throat.

Everyone clapped enthusiastically after the class monitor was done with his speech.

Thunderous applause filled the classroom.

The monitor stood on the podium and took out a harmonica. He held it near his lips and said softly, “I am the class monitor, so I shall take the lead and play a song for all of you. Everyone has to perform. Don’t skip your turn. If you do that at our last class meeting, we will remember you for the rest of our lives. You might be brought up at our class gatherings 10 or 20 years later…”

The class monitor began to play a tune.

Everyone was silent.

The night breeze blew into the classroom.

The sadness at the students’ impending parting filled the entire school.

Every student had their own performance. A few girls did a dance number, and a few boys did a Wushu performance, as well as a street dance performance.

When it was Ye Tianxin’s turn, she walked up to the middle of the classroom confidently and sang a song.

Every student hoped that the class meeting this time would last a little longer, just a little longer. They knew that this would probably be the last time that they would be all together.

It was a pity that it had to end eventually. “Come to the school field tomorrow at 10 in the morning to take your graduation photos,” Mr. Chen announced. “Please do not be late.”

Guan Chenxi had already finished packing up. Suitcases were lying by the wall.

When she saw Ye Tianxin coming home, Guan Chenxi said, “Tianxin, I have already packed up. We’re going to join the film set tomorrow.”

“Yep. Thank you, Elder Sister Chenxi.”

Guan Chenxi smiled. “Go and chat with your grandmother then. I’m going to get some rest.”

Ye Tianxin walked to her grandmother’s room. The caregiver was monitoring Grandmother’s blood pressure. When she saw Ye Tianxin, she greeted her, “Tianxin.”

“Grandmother, I will be leaving tomorrow. Do you want to go to the film set with me?”

Ye Tianxin held her grandmother’s hand. “Grandmother, perhaps there will be loads of people who will come and visit you after the college entrance exam results are released.”

“I will wait for you to get into a good university.” Grandmother reached out to touch Ye Tianxin’s face. “Tianxin, you’re all grown up.”
