The path was lined with trees, and, to Li Qingcang, the path was both long and short.
There was an especially large banyan tree at the end of the path.
There were several thin red ribbons hanging on the branches of the banyan tree. The red ribbons fluttered in the night breeze.
The lights under the tree shone on the treetop, making the ribbons on the branches look particularly festive.
“Hey, Elder Brother Li, is that a wishing tree?”
“Yep.”
Ye Tianxin walked toward the tree and looked up. She admired how tall it was. She had no idea that there was such an enormous wishing tree here.

Li Qingcang carried Ye Tianxin. Then Ye Tianxin reached out and tied the tie onto a branch with nimble fingers.
While he was carrying her in his arms, all he could smell was Ye Tianxin’s intoxicating scent.
The elegant and refreshing scent assaulted his nostrils.

He felt something trickling from his nose.
“Elder Brother Li, I am done. Let me down.”
Li Qingcang put Ye Tianxin down carefully. Then, he reached for the garment bag and took out a handkerchief, and dabbed at the blood flowing from his nose.
He thought that the weather might be too hot.
He might have eaten too much fried food recently.
It was summer, and it was very hot.
Ye Tianxin felt warm wearing Li Qingcang’s jacket.
However, she could not bear to take it off.
She felt as if she was wrapped in Li Qingcang’s embrace. Oh, how good it would be!
She always felt at ease whenever he would hug her. His scent was intoxicating. It smelled strong yet addicting.
“Young Master Li…”
It was Yan Qingqing’s voice. Li Qingcang and Ye Tianxin both turned around.
They saw Yan Qingqing standing in the dark. Under the moonlight, her eyes looked as if they were about to spew fire.
She was raging mad.
Her elder sister had told her again and again after they had left the banquet hall that she had to control herself, especially her emotions.
She was wrong. She knew that. Then, she had been embarrassed by Jing Zhichen in front of so many people. That was her fault as well.
She could not hold water in any argument concerning this.
However, Yan Lili had been by her side then. Now that Yan Lili was not around, Yan Qingqing completely forgot about the pride and temperament that a young lady of a wealthy family should have.
All she wanted to do was to tear Ye Tianxin into shreds.
“Yes? What do you want?” Li Qingcang spoke indifferently, his gaze not leaving Yan Qingqing.
“Young Master Li, why don’t you like my elder sister?” Yan Qingqing asked snottily. “What’s wrong with my elder sister?”
“Yan Qingqing, I think it’s best that you ask your elder sister about this.”
Must he like anyone who liked him?
From which family did this rule come from?
“But…” Yan Qingqing’s eyes were filled with tears. She continued, “But why did you bring her to the banquet? She has nothing. She has no parents, no money—nothing.”
