The two fought for half an hour. People gathered around to watch as they fought.

The battle between the king of soldiers, past and present, was a rare sight.

“Alright, alright! I admit defeat!”

Qie Yiyan surrendered, panting heavily. He had no choice but to admit that he was old, fat, and could not do hand-to-hand combat anymore.

“Let her go.”

Li Qingcang was panting, too, as he broke away from Qie Yiyan. He stood in front of Qie Yiyan, looking like he might beat Qie Yiyan up until he released Ye Tianxin.

“Li Qingcang, if you are really concerned about Tianxin, then you shouldn’t have come here to force me to release her. Tianxin has excellent leadership abilities. She would be able to better use her talents in the military.”

Li Qingcang placed a hand on Qie Yiyan’s shoulder. He was very tall, and when he stood shoulder to shoulder beside Qie Yiyan, he was one head taller than Qie Yiyan.

“You rascal! What have you gotten yourself into lately? Why do I feel like you’ve grown taller again?”

Qie Yiyan was drenched in sweat, and his camo shirt was soaked. He felt sweaty and sticky and just terrible.

“Yiyan, Tianxin cannot join the army. I will not let her join the army,” Li Qingcang refused. He was now calm.

Li Qingcang expressed his thoughts regarding the situation at the very beginning. He and Ye Tianxin both had a rare blood type. An ordinary person would have a hard time finding a suitable blood donor should they get into an accident, much less soldiers who were always placed in highly dangerous situations.

It was not that Li Qingcang was selfish, but he knew that Ye Tianxin’s dream was to become a diplomat.

Why keep her from becoming one? Furthermore, what right do you have to disagree? Who are you to her? Why does she need your approval? Can’t she decide for herself?”

Li Qingcang didn’t interrupt Qie Yiyan. He waited for him to finish before saying, “I am her elder brother.”

“What elder brother? If you are her lover, I might consider it,” Qie Yiyan retorted.

Li Qingcang smashed his fist into Qie Yiyan’s back. Anger filled his face as he said, “Yiyan, what nonsense are you talking about? Tianxin still has to date in the future.”

Qie Yiyan touched his back. Why did the rascal have to hit so hard?

“Then what are you so worried about?”

Qie Yiyan was determined not to let Ye Tianxin go. He would not let her go even if Li Qingcang came personally to snatch her from him.

Did Li Qingcang think it was so easy to find such a promising soldier?

“Yiyan, Tianxin still has a grandmother. Her grandmother is already very old. What will her grandmother do if something were to happen to Tianxin?”

Qie Yiyan was like a brick wall, and Li Qingcang’s words bounced off him. “Her grandmother still has you. Didn’t you say you were Tianxin’s elder brother?”

“Qie Yiyan, I shall go and look for her myself if you will not let her go!”

Li Qingcang was as determined as Qie Yiyan. When he heard what Li Qingcang had said, Qie Yiyan slowly turned around. An odd smile appeared on his Buddha-like face.
