The professor wanted Li Qingcang to stay for a meal at home, so Li Qingcang naturally wouldn’t refuse.

“Okay, Xu Yuan, you take your brother home. I’ll be back in a while.”

Professor Xu’s home was in a residential building not far from the school.

The red brick wall of the Russian-style building was covered with green creepers.

When the breeze blew, the green leaves rustled.

“Mom, guess who’s here?”

Xu Yuan’s mother came out of the kitchen. When she saw Li Qingcang, she was pleasantly surprised. “Xiao Li has gotten more handsome!”

“Madam.” Li Qingcang nodded.

“Sit down and have a good meal today. I stewed Buddha’s Temptation.”

After Xu Yuan led Ye Tianxin and Li Qingcang to the dining table, she said, “These years, Dad and Mom have been talking about you nonstop, Brother. Is it hard being a soldier?”

“Not hard!”

“That’s good. I watched a military documentary before, and I saw those soldiers doing exercises. It looked very gruesome.”

Xu Yuan talked about various matters, and, from time to time, she let Ye Tianxin say a few words.

Ye Tianxin had been careful of the things she would share. When they said something, she would answer from time to time.

Although it seemed like chatting, most of the time, Xu Yuan was talking on her own, and Li Qingcang didn’t seem that responsive.

Ye Tianxin didn’t know if it was her illusion, but she even saw a trace of impatience on Li Qingcang’s face.

“Oh, right, Xiao Li, you can help me,” Mother Xu told Li Qingcang as she took out a light bulb.

“The light bulb in the bathroom of our master bedroom was broken this morning. Old Xu wanted to change it, but I won’t let him. He has hypertension, you see. I’m afraid there would be an accident. Since you happen to be here, you can do me a favor and change the light bulb for me. ”

“Alright.”

Li Qingcang and Mother Xu went to the bathroom.

“Xiao Li, do you have a girlfriend?” Mother Xu brazenly asked.

“I don’t have a girlfriend yet.”

Li Qingcang’s answer made Mother Xu ecstatic. She was quite fond of Li Qingcang.

All these years, her daughter Xu Yuan had always admired him, so she was happy to bring the two of them together.

“Then, I will introduce someone to you. How about it?”

“Madam, I appreciate your kindness, but I don’t want to be introduced to anybody for the time being.”

Mother Xu blushed when she heard Li Qingcang’s answer.

If this was someone else’s business, she might just put it aside and change the subject without going further.

But this was her own daughter’s future, so she still wanted to try again.

What if there was a better way?

“Xiao Li, you’re not that young anymore, and it’s not like she’ll cling to you right after the first meeting. Just go and meet her. What if you two are suitable? You know, your teacher and I, we met on a blind date. Don’t you think we’ve had a good marriage even after so many years? Listen to what I say and meet her! If you don’t like her, I won’t force you. How is that?”

During lunch, Professor Xu and Mother Xu were very kind to Li Qingcang.

Even Ye Tianxin found the Buddha’s Temptation delicious. Mother Xu had stewed it for a long time.

After lunch, Xu Yuan personally sent Li Qingcang and Ye Tianxin downstairs.

“Brother Li, what did Madam say to you?” Ye Tianxin asked casually.

“The teacher said she would arrange a blind date for me.”

Ye Tianxin nodded and went on, “The blind date arranged by Madam, is it with Sister Xu Yuan?”

“I don’t think so.”

Li Qingcang was a man. His reasoning was more straightforward than women.

“If it was Xu Yuan, the Madam would definitely say it right away. Does she need to beat around the bush?”
