It felt so surreal like a sweet dream that Ye Tianxin feared she would destroy it all and awoke from her fantasy if she were to speak loudly.

Li Qingcang nearly wanted to smack her on the butt when he heard her question, if it wasn’t for the fact that he couldn’t bear to lay a finger on her. Lowering his head, he sealed her lips with his and deepened the kiss stubbornly as though he was punishing her.

He lapped up on the wonderful taste of her lips and began to conquer her inch by inch.

He burned with the desire to leave marks of himself on her as a way of marking his territory.

“Hmm…”

Ye Tianxin’s body was burning from all of Li Qingcang’s kisses.

She felt as if he had robbed her of all of her strength.

Meanwhile, Li Qingcang was also too caught up with the kiss to bother about anything else.

He pecked her on her eyelids before his lips traveled up to her brows and explored freely on her skin.

Halfway through the kiss, Li Qingcang could feel a strange transformation in his body. Something was swelling up and hurting, forcing him to release the beauty in his arms.

“Tianxin, did you feel it when I kissed you just now?” Li Qingcang asked.

As he stared at her moist, luscious lips, he could barely resist the urge to plant his lips on hers again.

“Yup.”

Ye Tianxin acknowledged shyly and was at a loss as to how she could even begin to express what she was feeling.

She was lightheaded with bliss and felt as if she was treading on clouds.

She thought that might even float off into the sky just like that.

“Tianxin, I like you.”

Li Qingcang declared as he gazed at her intently with his deep-set eyes, which were burning with fervor.

He then held Ye Tianxin’s tiny face endearingly in his palms and resumed, “My feelings towards you are not like that of a brother’s, but that of a man.”

Ye Tianxin could feel her cheeks flushing, and she was dying to confess her secret to him.

She wanted to tell him that she, too, liked him.

Not in the way that a sister loves a brother, but in the way that a woman loves a man.

Li Qingcang’s gaze was fervent and scorching as he continued gently, “I know that there’s someone whom you like, but that’s okay. I’ll wait for you. I’ll wait for you to accept my feelings.”

‘We have a long life ahead,’ he thought.

Li Qingcang had walked the path of life alone for more than 20 years.

It was only when he met her that beautiful flowers began to bloom in his otherwise drab, uneventful life.

With her appearance, she had brought colors into his life.

“But…”

Ye Tianxin stuck out her tongue and licked her lips lightly.

Reaching her hand over to cup Li Qingcang’s face in her palms, she planted a quick peck on his lips.

“But I don’t like anyone else. You’re the one I like, Elder Brother Li,” she confessed.

The daisy buds nodded their heads under the morning sunlight in the silent ward.

The young couple only had eyes for each other.

It was probably the happiest thing in the world: having one’s feelings reciprocated.

“What did you just say?”

Li Qingcang asked as if he did not hear her words. He could hardly believe what he had just heard.

‘She likes me… The person whom she likes is none other than me. Well, then I’ve been jealous of myself all along,’ he mused.

“Elder Brother Li, I like you.”

Ye Tianxin held Li Qingcang’s hand and placed it on top of her chest.

He could feel the rhythm of her heart, beating from his fingertips into his body.

He could feel her heartbeat.

“I like you.”

“I like you.”

“You’re the only one I like in this world.”

At that instant, tears welled in Li Qingcang’s eyes and then trickled down onto his chest, which was throbbing with a faint, numbing pain.
