Shock! The Spell Is In English! Chapter 409

"Listen up, we're from Black Wind Stronghold. From now on, the summer rental fee will be one gold coin per family. You can only give more, not less. Whoever gives less will be whipped a few times."
"Whoever doesn't give, all the family members will be killed."
"Alright, line up one by one. You can start paying the rent now."
A bald man walked out of the group of bandits and placed a table in front of him.
There was a stall on the table with gold, silver, and bronze coins inside.
Obviously, the Iron Cloud Village was not the first to be charged with rent.
Lugh saw everything clearly from the air.
Iron Cloud Village was a little far from Tian Feng City. It was considered the most borderline place.
Coincidentally, Iron Cloud Village had developed roads here.
It was the best place for bandits to survive.
Every year, these bandits would collect rent, a total of four times. Spring, summer, autumn, and winter. They would come once every three months.
If they didn't pay, it would be just as they said. They would definitely not even blink when they killed you.
In the past, there were still people who wanted to resist, but ever since these people and their family members were killed, no one dared to make a sound.
"It seems that I have to clean up all the bandits here before I leave. Otherwise, all the money I give them will be theirs."
"As much as I give, every single one of them will belong to these bandits."
In front of the bandits, the village chief was giving this year's quota.
Looking at the gold coins in his hand being taken away by the other party, the village chief was extremely reluctant to part with them.
The villagers did not have much money to farm every year. If they encountered a harvest, they would not even have food.
When the harvest was over, not only would these bandits not reduce their rent, they would even double it.
They would not let the nearby villagers live at all.
'If only Lugh was here,' the village chief thought to himself.
These bandits had a large number of people, but their strength was only average.

If Lugh was here, if the other party saw Lugh's level 15 source beast, the other party might suffer.
Just as the village chief was thinking, he raised his head and saw Big Mouth that was flying in the air slowly landing on the ground.
Lugh also looked at the village chief.
The village chief was somewhat incredulous. Didn't Lugh say that he had gone to Tian Feng City to take revenge?
It had only been a day and he had already finished the matter. This was too fast!
"Old man, hurry up and bring the money over. If you continue to dawdle, I will chop off your hand."
The bandit spoke. Right now, he was in a hurry. He still needed to go to other villages to collect the rent, and he was wasting time again.
If he did not complete the task on time, then he would be the unlucky one.
The village chief only cared about his excitement and did not hear the bandit's words.
When the bandit saw that the village chief did not pay attention to him, he immediately became furious.
'Good! The village chief of a small village dares to ignore me? You're courting death.'
The bandit pulled out the machete in his hand and directly chopped at the village chief's hand that was holding the money.
The village chief noticed the light of the machete in front of him.
The village chief hurriedly withdrew his hand, but it was already too late.
The village chief's speed was simply too slow.
Ding!
After a crisp sound, the machete in the bandit's hand broke.
A bone machete was stabbed into the ground.
"Who's that? Who dares to disturb this lord? Are you courting death?"
Lugh fell from Big Mouth's body.
"You were the one who caused trouble for me just now."
The bandit walked up to Lugh and said, "So what if I did? Good, very good. Since it's you, then it's simple. Someone chop him to death. I want to show these people the consequences of provoking me."
When the other bandits heard this, they all rode their horses and rushed towards Lugh. They raised the knives in their hands and wanted to chop Lugh to death.

However, before they could get close, Big Mouth flashed a few times and passed by these bandits.
After answering Lugh's question, the bandits looked at each other. They looked as if nothing had happened.
Regardless, the bandits started to charge. However, this time, their upper bodies were broken from their chests.
Just now, when Big Mouth moved around them, it cut them into two in an instant.
However, Big Mouth's bone knife was too sharp, so these people did not feel it.
After they charged, the horse's back immediately fell apart.
These bandits died immediately.
When the bald bandit saw this, he was completely shocked. Even his eyes were almost out of their sockets.
'F*ck, I've offended a big boss.'
Big Mouth held the bone knife and placed it on the other party's neck.
The bald bandit no longer had the arrogance he had before. He immediately knelt down and kowtowed.
"Sir, I didn't recognize Mount Tai. Please let me go. I was wrong and I won't dare to do it again."
"Lugh, what do you plan to do with him?"
The village chief looked at Lugh.
Now that Lugh had grown up, the village chief felt that he should listen to Lugh now.
"Get up. I won't kill you. Go back and tell your leader to come find me."
"If he doesn't come to me, I'll kill him. Just tell him that Lugh wants his head."
"Tell him not to be ungrateful and wash his own neck. Come to the entrance of Iron Cloud Village and chop off his head."
"Get lost."
When the bandits heard this, they immediately stood up and rode their horses back to the village.
The villagers all ran to Lugh's side to thank him for his help.
"Villagers, please don't treat me as an outsider. Everyone has been taking care of me. If it wasn't for everyone, I, Lugh, wouldn't have lived to this day, and I definitely wouldn't have lived to this day."
The villagers all looked at Lugh excitedly, saying that they weren't wrong about Lugh.
The village chief gave all the money back to everyone.
With Lugh's protection, Iron Cloud Village wouldn't have to fear the bandits.
So, the village chief gave the money back.
Dode also came.
Lugh told everyone what had happened in the past few days.
When they heard that Lugh had killed Doval and gone to Tian Feng City to rob the Modern family.
Then, the City Lord gave a banquet. Everyone was stunned.
Lugh also said that he would leave soon.
This made the village chief and Dode nervous. What if the bandits came again after Lugh left?
"Don't worry, Village Chief. I will settle this matter when I leave."
"I have thought about it. There are about three to four thousand bandits in the entire Iron Cloud Village. I only need to kill three thousand and leave one thousand behind."
"I will pass by them when I leave. If something happens to you, but if they didn't do it, they will all die."
Hearing Lugh's plan, Dode and the village chief looked at Lugh in a daze.
Although Lugh was very strong now, he was only one person.
One person wanted to kill thousands of bandits, even if those bandits were weak.
They were real people, not trash.
Lugh patted their shoulders and said that there was no problem.
His strength was completely fine. It was completely fine.
"Also, Village Chief, I've discussed with City Lord Hua Ye. In order to make Iron Cloud Village stable, I've discussed with City Lord Hua Ye that he will build Iron Cloud Village into a town."
"He will arrange 1,000 elite soldiers to be stationed here. However, the condition is that I must kill most of the bandits here."
"As long as Iron Cloud Town is successfully built, the villagers won't have to work anymore. Just the rent will be quite a lot every year."
After hearing Lugh's words, the village chief and Dode were delighted.
Although Iron Cloud Village was close to many roads, there were many bandits all year round. If troops were sent to fight them...
There would definitely be a large number of casualties.
It couldn't be helped that the bandits had established their power here for a very long time.

Midthalion Saga
+++Working on new chapters. Share what I've posted with your friends and family! Be sure to build strong bonds with those who are important to you. We only have each other in this world for so long!+++ Can Roderick XXIII gather together and train a party of adventurers to clear out Madeon Caves and bring peace to the wildmarches of Midthalion? Sent from his home monastery in the west to the wildmarches of Midthalion, Roderick the Holy Avenger is devoted to living out his oath to bring the Holy Light to the dark corners of the world. He enlists the help of an old friend, Ulrich Vogelbrandt the dwarf druid, to train and prepare a fighting force capable of defending the west from the evil they both see gathering and growing in the east. Eoroth is an ode to Tolkienesque epic fantasy, Robert E Howard and H.P. Lovecraft's pulp fiction, and Gygaxian Dungeons & Dragons. I like to write about serious topics because I think it's fun. I hope it makes for a fun read. Place: Eoroth, a vast, flat world with many continents set in oceans that reach out and mingle with the Celestial Sea. Our story takes place on the continent of Thalion in the middle, unsettled region called Midthalion. Peoples: Races in Eoroth aren't different species; the species of man is just incredibly diverse, consisting of many known races (and perhaps some unknown). There are no humans in Thalion. Thalion's races include variations of elves, dwarves, halflings (billowits), pierros (clownish men), bergeracs (long-nosed and swarthy men of honour), orcs, trolls, goblins, and hobgobs. The Church: There's one dominant religion in Westhalion. The faith of the elves is an analogue to Roman Catholicism while the dwarves practice an Eastern Orthodox analogue. (Forgive me for not having figured out names yet.) The practitioners worship a triune god (the All-Father, Son-of-All, and Holy Light). There are many powers in heaven, all created by God. These include the Twelve High Thrones, individual, created beings who take on the role of guiding mankind in different aspects, drawing them closer and closer to God. (That should be the essentials. I could write pages on the theology. Comment where something's unclear in the story.) Natural World: There are plants and animals in Eoroth, but the world is also inhabited by spirits called aeons. Aeons are transformative beings; in the wild, they'll change based on whatever is happening nearby. Pollute a pond? Expect to see toxic toad-men running around. Leave a bunch of dead bodies strewn across a battlefield? Expect the place to become haunted with ghouls and ghasts. Druids are important for making sure that the aeons are pacified; that their needs are met so that they don't become rampaging monsters. Where the wilderness becomes overgrown, so too do the aeons. Aeons and People: Long ago, men learned how to trap aeons in stone tablets and use them for war. Now, anyone can capture an aeon into a special staff made by a druid. Men train, raise, and bond with these aeons. Druids often build entire ranches devoted to raising healthy aeons as allies and companions. Aeons are divided into twelve known families, and the church sees these as corresponding with the Twelve Thrones in Heaven. Direction: My goal is to get the story to one million words by June next year. I have tons of content in mind for the world. I want to release novels set in different ages of the world depicting different historical events. I hope to expand the setting into a tabletop role-playing game as well as a series of old-school JRPGs. But, it all begins with writing some stories and publishing my novels.

Cinder Roots (Undergoing a Rewrite)
This novel is currently undergoing a major rewrite, as I noticed several plot points that needed to be revamped. I'll leave the chapters I've posted here to anyone curious to see how everything started, but I'll be posting the rewritten story as a new novel in the future. The characters will be the same, but the journey will be more understandable and hopefully, a lot more fun to read. -------- First, everything was fire, it killed, it consumed, and it gave him life. He was just a tree, born in the biggest forest that remained in the world, full of dryads, naiads, elves and treants, but he was alone. He couldn’t see. He couldn’t talk. Curiosity plagued him. He dreamed of wandering the land, but could only wonder what stood outside the reach of his roots. The tree was tired of waiting. He decided to not just dream, but to act. How could he survive against a invading empire, a grand conspiracy that threatened to shake the foundations of the world, and the raw danger that lies within these woods? With pure determination. Warning - There are quite a few POV changes in the first chapters, but that'll change after the introduction is done, as I'll be focusing on the MC perspective only.

Life is a game, with intrusive microtransactions.
Life is a simulation. There is nothing wrong with acknowledging we are just a part of someone's dream, lines of code existing to give purpose for some machine or anything, but why would this unknown entity add microtransactions in it? Maybe because that way it can wake up faster, by consuming parts of it's dream, until... well, who cares about an unknown entity that has nothing to do with this particular story?
