The Legend of Min Hong Chapter 309

But anyways she loved both of them still, and when she later died in the war, one of the regrets she had was not having a man who she could have looked into his eyes whilst she slowly drifted into the arms of the reaper of the underworld, or someone who could have escaped with her son and ensure that he didn't live his life on the run alone and unprotected…
Thus, when she was revived by her doting and filal son who showed her how much love he had for her and that all the agony she had suffered when he was munching on her from the insides weren't in vain…
At first, she had thought of even being romantically entangled with the only man she had ever truly loved and been with all this time; Min Hong…
This wasn't like incest love, it was more like the love one had for an adorable but dying puppy and after several ups and downs and bills, the puppy later became healthy and strong, the fact that one had been there when the puppy was disabled and one cared for it until it came back to full strength would definitely spur a deep parental love within such a person that borders on romantic love…
In such scenarios, such a person would find it really hard to part with that puppy even if it was just for a brief moment…
Such a person would go to the beach with the puppy, swim and even bathe with the puppy and in most cases like it truly exists in modern day earth; if such a person has a baby, they would ensure that the baby and the dog spent as much time together as possible...
Furthermore, subconsciously within such a person's mind, the love they had fragile pup [or cat and kitten for the meow lovers..] back then would have surged to the extent that the pup or dog would now seem more like a child or sibling than an ordinary pet…
Such is what happens to every human when they go through agonizing times with others, even amongst humans, such a past might end up festering into a relationship between the guy and the girl…
The love Min Rou had for Min Hong though was parental, but was way stronger than even the love between a 'SEE. EYE. HEY agent' and being undercover…

It is not easy for a lady to be starved of romance and feelings for 20 solid years, especially if such a lady ended up dying before she had a chance to…
For such a person, that would at least be top three of their greatest regrets, behind the thought of leaving their families behinds and leaving their kids behind, because to a true and good person, there are no three things in life more important than their own kids, their families and their spouses…
Thus, when she sensed that Elder Jun had taken the father figure/teacher role for the person she loved the most on the planet, she felt not romantic love, but one that is based on respect, just like the one she had for Min Tian back when he was doing his all to ensure that Min Hong isn't traumatized by his physical condition, but only that, the one she felt for Elder Jun is like ten percent of that…
But what got her truly blushing was the fact that, Elder Jun was not blood related which spiked a little inkling of romantic touch right there, after all, he treated her like a lady, asides from looking after her son, he vacated his own house for her without thinking too much about it and even sat in the cold to protect her from the dangers of the jungle…
Though cultivators don't feel cold, but who would want to stay outside in the cold night, rather than be inside the cozy comfort of their homes…
Furthermore, he couldn't be keeping watch because of Elder Yun and Little Ming, because asides from the fact that they are beasts and that was actually part of their training, if they sleep comfortably with the thought that someone was watching over them, then that would betray the intention of bringing their wild side out which was the reason why they came here in the first place…
Long Yueyao; Elder Jun's beast had died about three weeks ago when she encountered a beast that countered her on every level whilst trying to fulfil her daily quota of beast core she was supposed to deliver…
She had comprehended a Flame Dao whilst her opponent had the Water Dao native to the forest, then her opponent was also stronger than her in terms of bloodline purity and cultivation base…

It was a snake type beast that looked like the hybrid of an Anaconda, Cobra and Rattlesnake sue to its scales and its tail which it usually used to lure preys just like the lightbulb of the lantern fish beast Min Hong encountered in the void…
All in all Min Rou was finally being cared form, and though Elder Jun did it out of respect, but no matter what, deep down, Min Rou was still a lady because in total, she was still in her early forties with her appearance now similar to that of a damsel in her early twenties, which meant that the gentlemanly actions of Elder Jun would surely appeal to her inner lady…
But that was not as much as she loved the man of her life who brought her back to life…
It was a surreal feeling and to be honest,, even Min Rou wasn't entirely sure if the love she had for Min Hong was entirely parental… But as for that only time would tell…
But despite all that, she still couldn't bring herself to sleep when the owner of the roof she's currently residing in is outside in the cold…
Thus, wrapping a blanket [which she brought along to protect herself from the poisonous swarming insects of this jungle] around her body, she stepped outside to the porch of this tree-bungalow and sat beside Elder Jun…
"Couldn't sleep?"
Elder Jun asked with his eyes closed in a meditative intent;
"That would be shameless of me and utterly disrespectful…" Min Rou replied…
"I truly want to thank you for being there for my son, but I don't know how to thank you enough…" Min Rou said;
"No, I should be thanking you for bringing such a talented kid into our younger generation…"
"Your son is a breath of fresh air into this ever so weakening younger generation of our time…" Elder Jun complimented, and added before Min Rou could respond;
"Your daughter also isn't too bad and perhaps I am classifying her that way because I have seen your son's talent or because I have spent my whole life tutoring the youngest master of our Long Super Clan who is way much more than he ever shows anyone, including me…"
Elder Jun added with a reminiscing tone and expression as he remembered when Long Sha had sundered a man who was an entire stage stronger than him because the man spoke ill of his mother…
The attack wasn't sudden or abrupt and the man had enough time to defend himself, but the sword move tore through his defenses like they someone using a newly-smith axe to cut through tofu…
Min Rou simply listened as Elder Jun and her spoke through the night in the cold until the warmth of the sun rose once more and began to warm the jungle which never truly slept, but seemed more like a shift between nocturnal beasts and daylight beasts…
Just as Elder Yun and Little Ming woke up, Little Ming screamed joyfully;
"Bath time!"
Elder Jun smiled slightly as Min Rou wondered what was going on, but just as she was about to ask, she saw the trio fall of the tree free falling downwards from the top of the 3000 meters tall tree, and before long, she couldn't see them again until she heard a soft splash;
"Aunt Rou, you need to get down here… It is pretty wonderful in here!" Little Ming screamed with an exhilarating and refreshed tone without even caring if other beasts may hear them and rush over…
Min Rou then fell, but feet first and after thirty solid seconds of free falling, a pond that was gushing insane amount of spiritual energy came into her view, and when she was just about to land, she steadied her descent with her Intent Level Wind Dao, before finally stepping her foot into the water…
The moment she did that, she understood why there were massive and mouth-watering changes to the physical appearances of Elder Jun and his disciples, the spiritual energy within the pond caressed and massaged her foot before seeping through her body giving her the most pleasurable feeling she had ever felt as a subtle but audible moan escaped her lips that bordered on being erotic…
The water felt so refreshing just like the Min Family Resort, only about a thousand times more refreshing and energizing…
In fact she was sure that if she cultivated here for just half a year, she would return to her previous peak, if not surpass it…

Curious Tales: Assorted Fantastical Fiction
These are a collection of my short stories which don't feature gender bending front and center but do involve horrors, fantastical delights, and weird surprises. They may involve something as simple as a house on a swamp overlooking the dreams of the past or a byzantine battle between time travelers for what they see as the "right" timeline. And be as shiver-inducing as being locked in a school at night with disembodied shadows or as sweet as an old stuffed animal with a special secret.
