The Legend of Min Hong Chapter 383

"What were you thinking!?"
"Are you trying to get your fellow disciple killed!?"
Gong Yi truly wanted to help Min Hong out of the situation, but he knew better than to try to interrupt when the sect leader is raging…
One must understand that the sect leader was a full fledge Saint stage exert who was stronger than Fifth; who in his own ability could snap Min Hong's neck like he was breaking dried twigs…
They were experts whose total battle prowess were rivalling those in Mid-Samsara/Nirvana stage…
His smoldering gaze alone was making them sweat bullets…
The sect leader looked to the core disciples and ordered;
"Take him to the healers…"
Instantly Rin Chen and Ki Ting carried Tong Tian and took him away;
"Go with them…" Gong Yi ordered Xiao Gui who simply nodded and left…
"Leave us…" The sect leader looked to the rest of Min Hong's group;
"If you are going to say anything to me, then you might as well say it in their presence…" Min Hong spoke up for his group members…
"We are going to be discussing matters that concerns the welfare of the sect, and since Gong Yi is also involved with it, you might keep only a single one of them behind…"
Fifth insisted as Min Hong looked over his shoulders and was instantly caught in a dilemma of who he was going to pick…
He had to be careful not to make the others or any one amongst their group fee inferior to another, and at the same time, this might as well be a test to rate his judgement ability, so he called out;
"Head of Intel and Reconnaissance…"
When everyone heard who he had picked, the found no flaws in his decision and thus, the rest of them left, leaving Mu Li behind…
Since all they would be doing here today would be getting information, it was a no-brainer for Min Hong to actually pick Mu Li…
"You know you have to pay for all these damages right?" Fifth asked with a smile trying to placate the furious sect leader;
"Sure… It's our new home, so why not…" Fifth nearly choked when he heard Min Hong's statement…
Did he truly think the leader of an entire sect won't discover all his shenanigans and schemes he had launched and initiated within the sect…
"The sect leader is already aware with the altercations of the Treasure and Enforcement Hall Heads…"
Fifth tried to warn Min Hong so that he can devise a way of getting on the sect leader's good side because of everything he had done to the sect in the past few weeks…

Firstly, there was the death of two disciples during Min Qing's outrage…
Secondly, was the disrespect of thrashing four grand elders…
Thirdly, was the matter of the Treasure and Enforcement Hall Heads…
Fourthly was what he blackmailed these two Hall Heads into doing for him; taking over an entire district…
But all these wasn't the reason behind the sect leader's frustrations, nope; It was the fact that the sect has now been financially crippled…
Not only had he had to deal with the super sects that had begun to pressure him into handing over the disciples who caused the deaths of their descendants to them, and though the Imperial Patriarch had told these Super Sects to forget the matter, they have refused to do so and are now coming to the roots of the problem…
Furthermore, he had seen Min Hong's talent and discovered how he seemed to attract people of influence and power through his rash and seemingly reckless actions, and he understood that Min Hong, if given enough time to grow would probably dominate the continent, because truly; how many people or beast had seen a 16 year old kid with Saint Stage total battle power?
Then there was the massive matter of the sect being poor; Min Hong through his strategic bets had won over 40 percent of the sect's total wealth, and now they have begun to cut back on the amount of resources they give out to other students, and even Gong Yi was already being affected…
His group of mischief lovers had bought over 60 percent of all the medium to highly valuable techniques, treasures and weapons within the sect with their mid-grade spirit stones and merit points…
So not only were they short on techniques in the library and treasures in the vault, they were also ridiculously low on High-grade Spirit Stones, because Min Hong's group had taken one million of them which was actually 80 percent of the sect's total…
Apart from giving resources to their disciples, the elders and other workers also have to receive payments in the form of these resources also, thus plunging the sect deep into a resource drought…
All these were enough to give the sect leader sleepless nights; after all, he couldn't forcefully rob a disciple of his winnings no matter what tactics he had resorted to in doing so, but the most frustrating of all was that he was here he was trying to propose a subsidy deal to the very person who caused the drought…
"Let's take this conversation elsewhere…"
The sect leader spoke and he truly looked like someone who had grown ten years older and even his beards were now unkempt and his eyes were saggy with sleep deprived bags underneath…

Little Ming expanded at Min Hong's thought, shocking both Fifth and the Sect Leader that the beast they had suspected to have vanished with Elder Long had return…
'Wait didn't that mean?'
Fifth was quick at his calculations and had suspected that Elder Long might be around, but little did he know that the duo he was talking about were already back within their clan facing a huge problem of their own…
Min Hong and the remaining four boarded Little Ming who didn't even need to be asked before facing the direction of his apartment within District 2…
Min Hong took them to the hall where they had his meetings and actually took the head seat despite being in the presence of the sect leader;
"You vermin! You dare place yourself over the sect leader!?"
"Get off that seat at once!" Fifth bellowed in fury…
Min Hong had just shown the ultimate form of disrespect, but his response only got the fifth grand elder [who had liked him from day one] to get even more infuriated;
"A man is always the leader of his own home in all situations…" He replied almost nonchalantly;
"But who do you think owns the sect your home is within?"
"The Imperial Clan and the rulers of the Empire?"
Min Hong responded in a questioning tone that indicated them to tell him otherwise if he was wrong, but he was absolutely right…
The sect leader was just like a realtor agent between the owner of a house and the customer who rented it; as long as the owner of the house doesn't have any issues with the customer, the realtor agent has no say in however or whatever the customer does with the house…
Min Hong knew that, and his beliefs and stance was centered on that;
"Do you little worms just wake up daily and think to each other; how can we fuck up this sect life today?"
The Sect Leader finally began to reveal his frustrations;
"If you even have no attachments towards the sect itself or its elders, can't you at least pity the poor innocent lives of the sect?"
"You are basically controlling 60 percent of the sect's entire wealth…
Missions now yield sixty percent less rewards, and monthly resource distribution has seen a 30 percent decrease…"
The sect leader began to let out his frustrations and headaches, but he didn't yell, because he knew that Min Hong had done nothing truly underhanded to get these things, since he had simply bet on the confidence he had in his own abilities and the level of trust he had placed on his friends abilities also which was in no way wrong…
Then as for the two Hall Heads, they have been stripped of their earnings until the issue with the Sect's finance is stable, and the sect also doesn't want Min Hong to release the proofs he had with him, because that will not only destroy the image of the sect, it would also ensure that people would not want to bring their children into a sect where they will be sexually assaulted...
Thus, Min Hong could be said to be simply enacting justice and teaching the sect a lesson for overlooking and being lax with its elders to the extent that it had now come back to hurt them…
Min Hong understood all these and it was all going according to his plan, but to let his plan succeed, he needed to make the sect leader realize the fact that, they will be utterly financially wrecked without him…
"All I have done was either with the intent of enacting justice or simply backed up my confidence in my abilities and those of my friends'… "
"Though, I had never expected to make so much money, but I have also been thinking about it, and after speaking with my team, my team has suggested that we return majority of all these resources back to the sect out of simple goodwill and concern about our fellow peers…"
"Thus, with immediate effect, we have decided to return it all under three non-negotiable conditions…"
Min Hong spoke stunning even Mu Li himself because they have yet to have their first meeting and they had never discussed the returning of any resource, but despite being in the dark as to Min Hong's intentions here, he still trusted him to make a decision which will not only fair to himself and the group but also benefit them as well…
"You say out of goodwill and concern, but you still request three conditions…"
Fifth though was worried about what these three conditions might be, but he also wanted to find out what they were and witness how shrewd Min Hong could be in person…

Ars Magica
Our vision comes back into focus. Our eyes, while being able to perceive the immediate surroundings, still leave us with our minds uncomprehending towards what is actually occurring. Sure, there are definitive things that we can focus on, like the fact that we're either out upon the open sea or the open ocean, there not being much of a difference with no land in sight, as well as the fact that we appear to be upon a haphazardly constructed metal boat, whose seams are barely able to keep a hold of themselves in the crashing waves. However, that does not let us understand what exactly is causing the waves in the first place. If we were to rewind time, we'd find ourselves upon a calm sea under a peaceful sky with the only difference, being a small whirlpool that would be the precursor towards this uproar around the boat. Lightning flashes in the sky, with no clouds being near, and anyone actually manning the boat has either died towards the cause of the smashing tides in the first place, or are fighting amongst the flashes of lightning, all while trying not to become devoured, demolished, and utterly decimated by the beast roiling in the whirling waves. To better understand exactly what is happening here, there is one singular event that needs to be understood, that needs to be explained, and that is the arrival of a creature named Dave. Stepping back from current events and going towards this creature's first appearance in the world, we begin to hear the sound of water slowly dripping across rocky ground. The cavern is utterly silent except for this one constant, its cause feeding channels downwards, sloping towards cracks in the rubble along the floor from broken stalagmites and stalactites. And there, lying on top of something which had fallen over recently, judging from its cracks, is a person, the creature named Dave. His form is fast asleep, either from the impact or from an intoxication, judging from the smell upon its breath. A bright light suffuses into it for a second, giving life towards the pale skin, before it slowly dies down back to the comfortable black of the cave that it's within. Before this moment in time, Dave did not exist in the physical world. At least, not in the reality that he finds himself born into. We do not know whether or not his existence is simply a cosmic joke, or something that is being played out on purpose. All that we do know, is that one moment, the body was not in the cave, and simply formed in the next. The actual earliest time that we know Dave exists, is the interpolation of the memories of J-209, which we'll begin looking into shortly to gain context towards the coming narrative that is being written and hastily trying to keep itself written. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Warning: This story has several things which might turn its readers away. The first is that this story has shifting points of perspective. Don't worry about that previous sentence too much though, as the main character will always have a first person perspective associated with them. However, any other character from which we're viewing the story from will either be in third-person, as we are not necessarily in their shoes at the moment, or in first person, given that the narrator is an actual physical presence within the story. For the most part, chapters will be self-contained with their perspectives, so there will not be an abundance of switching perspectives within the same chapter. The most that an average reader would have to worry about is the fact that perspectives can switch between chapters. The second thing is that the main character is a bit on the 'special' side of things. He's not exactly mentally there most of the time, so there will be some times that his personality or his thoughts do not actively align with his actions. The third, and final thing of importance, is the fact that past the first couple of chapters, nothing has been planned in advance. There are arcs and plots that I want to do, want to implement, or have already been set into motion from our main character's introduction to the world, but the method that I use for my story writing and generating leads towards a bit more random chance being enabled. Basically...there's a lot of dice rolling behind the scenes. To not complicate the story further than its regular LitRPG elements, the rolls will not be publicly available. However, there will be knowledge within the author's notes on whether or not there were positive or negative critical rolls that had occurred within the chapter. You have been warned. Updates: Mondays & Fridays (Schedule permitting) Typical Chapter Length: (2,000-3,000)
