"Then it was determined that until an expert which was stronger than that Patriarch of the Cui Super Clan surfaces or originates from the Cui Super Clan, they would never have anything to do with the rest of the world…"
"That was why the Cui Super Clan deserted the rest of the Empire, because my very existence repulses them…" Patriarch Huang explained to Patriarch Zong;
"But when it was time for you to choose a bride as well, they had the lingering thought that you would have chosen the Princess mother, and that way the relationship between our clans would have gotten better;"
"But just like me, you went for a very normal girl, and back then, and out of irrevocable shame, the current princess' mother had committed suicide thinking that perhaps she wasn't simply good enough in our sight, and that only worsened the relationship between our clan and the Cui Clan…"
"Then it was like a vow they made between themselves to never feel vulnerable again in their bloodline lineage, and thus, they became a can which sees to turn male into servants to prove that they were just as good as our Chu Clan irrespective of their pasts…"
"That was how they developed this ideology that men are nothing but slaves and means to extend their bloodline…" Patriarch Chu Huang explained;
"Ever since then I have been looking for anyone very close to out Imperial Lineage who would want to marry any of their Princess' but no one ever came, because I wasn't willing to allow any of my descendants suffer the repercussion of my stubbornness…"
"But if Yang'er feels genuinely in love with the Princess, then it might as well fix the long lasting disconnect between our clans, and that is why I don't want anyone to interfere with his plans…"

"If he is able to steal the Princess from Fei Hong, then that would be great for not only our Imperial Super Clan, but their assistance would also be the determining factor of this Civil War that is about to ensue…" Patriarch Chu Hang explained to the mysterious hooded figure and his son; Patriarch Zong…
"But what happens if Yang'er fails?" Patriarch Zong asks understanding the gravity of the scenario;
"Then I will have to take Fei Hong in as my own son, and thereby fixing the long lasting issue between our Clans…" Patriarch Huang gave a sigh of helplessness as he revealed his plight to the two most valuable figures in the Empire asides himself and his grandson; Chu Yang…
"Is that the reason why you are feeling nervous about the Princess being out in public?" The mysterious hooded figure sked;
"Yes… if anything should happen to her, that would mean that our Clan had made their Clan suffer on three different generational occasions; if it was you, will you take everything without response?" Patriarch Chu Huang asked and the duo already knew the answer to the question;
They would have fucked up the Imperial Clan in the first instance not to even talk about the third generation…
"But irrespective of everything, Yang'er must feel like he's making his choices by his own will and not being forced, because if he feels we are forcing him and choose to rebel just like I have and hurt the Princess, there would be no way out from tis upcoming war should they join the enemy's cause out of anger…"
Patriarch Huang explained, as the duo nodded in understanding of his perceptions…
They would have to pray that the Princess and Chu Yang eventually falls for one another; otherwise they would have to being Min Hong into the Imperial Clan at all costs…"

This was the first ever, most sensitive and unavoidable situation in history where the Imperial Clan would find themselves in a situation where their fate banked on someone with no relations to the Imperial Clan, whatsoever, and it sucked…
The reason why it all sucked was because, everything Min Hong had been doing so far was insinuating that he didn't wish to be beneath anyone's rule…
From the beginning when the Min Family still existed and he still felt the need to prove himself to the Min Super Clan, Min Hong might have thought about being under someone or some power back then, but ever since he had been betrayed by the very first set of people he so wished to become one of, that entirely changed…
Immediately he left the Min Family area, his first thought was to go get Little Ming on his side, but back then, it wasn't to simply become an additional weapon in his arsenal, but to simply become a means by which he dominated the outside world…
Then he reached the Sunfire City where he refused to bow to the heir of the Zi and Chi Super Clans, and as a result both heirs were eventually killed all because of Min Hong's repulsiveness to be under someone's control…
Even throughout his time within the Desert Sun Sect, he had never been one to fall beneath another person's control which was why he initially felt repulsive about the Princess' mindset…
He even went as far as to create his own faction within the Sect, and despite the Dogon Empire being as weak as anything one could think of, the sheer fact that Min Hong had the nerves and guts to create his own faction and even seize control of an entire district for himself was a testament of his desire to always be the one in the lead..
He might not know it, but it was there;
Perhaps, it was because of his past;
Perhaps it was because he had never been the one to lead anyone or anything before;
Or perhaps, it was due to his bloodline; but it was undeniable there and everyone cold sense it somewhat…
Another example was the current mission they were on; initially, Gong Yi was supposed to be the leader of the mission, but in less than a week after the journey began, Min Hong had already been subconsciously considered as the Leader of the group…
The same thing happened with Huan Ji's mercenary group and it could also be noticed from the way he had begun to refuse to be kept in the dark about his life in terms of the 'great creator', Old Man Li and the 'Realm of Creations'…
He had even went on to assert his dominance over Little Fei and Daniel, reducing them to nothing but a secondary role…

The Villain's Double Life
“The Villain’s Double Life as the Hero’s Mentor," “Demon Nobles Want to Live Too: A Hero-Raising Simulator for the Transmigrated Villain," “Just Because I’m a Villain Doesn’t Mean I Want the World to End!” Cyrus Calvide was the second son of an aristocratic lord; haughty, vain and power-hungry. One day, when his ancestral inheritance manifested, he discovered he was able to steal other’s powers and abilities using demonic magic. Taking this as a sign that he was destined to rule over others and become the new king of this land, he poisoned his father, killed his elder brother, and embarked on the path to greatness, taking advantage of a demonic invasion to consolidate power and harvest the abilities of others in a cruel and bloody fashion. Until he was summarily defeated by the Hero as a mid-game boss battle and executed for his crimes, of course. When a dedicated fan of the RPG “Next to Eden” awakened in the body of the cruelest future Count, four years before the beginning of the game, he pledged to live humbly. He would let his brother lead and support the Hero from the shadows to ensure the demon invasion would be defeated and he could enjoy life in peace. Rather, he would have, if he hadn’t gotten the Hero’s mentor killed in a freak monster attack before the Hero’s training could even begin. How was he supposed to live a life of peace and luxury if the Hero couldn’t stop the end of the world!? Donning a mask, Cyrus took up mentoring the Hero himself; how hard could it possibly be? . . . Four years later, the kind jack-of-all-trades hero Leon had become a twisted powerhouse: alienating his party members, clearing enemy encounters in a single magical blast, and coldly ignoring the affections of the girl whose love would have allowed him to clear the final boss. He seemed to have plastered himself to his Master’s side, instead. Cyrus bit back his despair while the hero reached out to grasp his hand. “Please stop ignoring the saint, Leon; you can't beat the Demon King by grinding stats! You need the power of love, remember?” “Don’t worry, Master,” Leon smiled as he traced the lines of Cyrus’s palm gently, almost reverently. “I have all the love I need.” VDL is two parts plot and worldbuilding, one part slow-build gay romance, starring a man far too proud to admit he's in over his head and the hero who loves him. Should be updating weekly.
