Magic Trick Chapter 77

[Trick's PoV]
THE TWINS WENT RIGHT AWAY TO SEE THEIR FATHER, WHO IS IN THE INFIRMARY BECAUSE OF THE PREVIOUS MATCH.
We followed right after and saw Haru and Ellis about to leave. They told us that the twins will attend to their father. They left and told us they'll just wait outside.
So far, Uncle Bo looked better than he used to earlier. He's beginning to have his normal skin color back, unlike when he turned purplish. He's resting quietly.
The twins talked to their sleeping father emotionally, though.
"Hey, Dad, we won our fight," Taki started.
"We summoned Amihan and Habagat," Taka added.
Uncle Bo was reactionless, yet the twins were on the verge of wailing.
"Dad, wake up," Taki poked his father.
"Wake up, Dad," Taka whispered.
I tapped Taki's shoulder and whispered, "He'll be fine. Look at him. It looks like he's just sleeping soundly."
"I can't forgive that German bitch if I see her outside. I might hurt her terribly," Taka said.
"Please, don't do that. You've avenged him already by winning your match. Don't make it complicated, especially you're not in your own territory," Fei suggested. "Uncle Bo has struggled a lot. Worse things than this. I can tell he'll wake up soon like nothing happened."
"Thanks, guys," Taki said.
"We'll be outside if you need us," I told the twins and Fei and I left the infirmary. Outside, we saw Haru and Ellis who were talking. They're a little close to each other, like they're about to kiss.
"What's happening here?" I asked.
Haru stepped back and cleared his throat. "Nothing. I was just whispering something to Ellis."
"I'm sure the ear is on the side, not near the face," Fei snickered.
"Come on, you guys, it's nothing," Ellis grinned.
"So… It's nothing, huh?" Haru's tone turned serious after hearing what Ellis said.
Ellis squinted his eyes. "What's the change of tone?"
"It's nothing, right?" Haru walked away after that. Gosh, why is Haru's temper really easy to poke at?
"Haru! Wait! I didn't mean anything by that! Why are you like that? You drive me crazy!" Ellis followed right after.
"No! You drive me crazy!" Haru shouted as he continued walking.
Fei looked at me and grinned. "They did it, didn't they?"
My mouth formed an O. "Really? How did you know?"
"I don't. I just felt like they did. I mean, Haru's like this guy when he was with Fenna, when he experienced sex the very first time."

Wow. Big revelations coming up. "So, Fenna was the one who deflowered Haru?"
"Deflowered," Fei laughed. "Nice choice of word. But technically, both of them deflowered each other. Fenna was a seventeen-year-old virgin back then, and so was Haru. You know, puppy love. He thought that she was his one true love."
"And what is the connection of that with Ellis this time?" I queried.
Fei giggled. "It's like the first time again, that's why. Like, they did something they never do. And that is…"
"Wow… I like how you analyzed things with your inferences," I nodded.
"Thanks, sweetie," Fei planted a small kiss on my cheek.
"So, do you think Haru f/ucked Ellis?"
"That I don't know. I can only read body language and hear some gossip, but maybe you can ask Ellis?"
"Ugh," I groaned. "You know what, Ellis doesn't say things about him and Haru."
"See? They're hiding something, and I think that's it. Haru's reacting like he's super possessive of Ellis, even though they aren't together. That's the very moment back with his ex, Fenna," Fei elaborated.
I turned to Fei and squinted my eyes. "Hey, wait a minute. How come we never talked about your exes?"
"Exes?" Fei laughed. "Really? In plural?"
"So there's one?" My left eyebrow arched.
Fei laughed again. "There's no ex, but I did have a super close best friend back then."
"Ooh, and this best friend… Did you…" I popped my tongue.
Fei guffawed. I think that was the most maniacal laughter I've ever heard in my entire life. "No! We never did it. I swear. I'm not lying to you, sweetie."
"I just asked a question and you laughed like there's no tomorrow," I uttered. "Something must be really special between the two of you."
Fei stopped laughing and sighed, "I kind of miss him, actually."
"I didn't have to ask if the person's a girl or a guy. Okay. So, where is this guy now?"
"I never heard of him when we parted ways. They went to another land and I never reached out. He never did, too, so why waste a lifetime waiting for someone who you never know would come back?"
Somehow I sense bitterness in Fei's words. It felt like he fell in love with this guy but he didn't love him back the same way he did. Right now, I'm not sure if I'm gonna pry or dig deeper. Maybe it's not a good topic to open up, especially with the things that were happening right now to us. Also… he might feel that I'm this nagging guy who dwells on his ex's memories.

"I see," the only thing I uttered. Then, I changed the topic. "Hey, where do you think the Germans are in now?"
Fei's expression changed. "Sweetie, this is the continuation of our detective adventure. Let's find out what happened to the Germans."
"Oh, right," I agreed. "Let's go."
That must be a good way to remove that idea of talking about his past. There's right timing to talk about that, but this isn't it.
We tried to check the gates, but it's closed and no one is there. We visited the forests, and there wasn't any aura of any presence found. The lake was also clear. Until we reached a meadow full of yellow flowers…
Fei placed a piece of paper in my arm and did a certain chant. He told me that this was to hide our aura, or energy, so that no one would notice that we're around. Well, we don't wanna get involved in anything, so that's just wise. We hid behind the big rock on the hill and stayed there to observe Rosamund and the girls.
Rosamund was doing a chant of some sort and as she performed it, the German girls were slowly separating from their monster form. They were unconscious because of the impact, perhaps, from falling, I believe. They flew from the dome to this area which is quite a high and far distance.
After that, Rosamund treated their wounds. Somehow, behind her revengeful side, a motherly figure emerged. She used her powers to heal the wounds one by one.
When all the wounds are healed, the girls woke up and hugged their mother. It was a great sight, actually, to be reunited with your loved ones. I hope I witness the same thing with the Marasigans soon enough.
Until…
"Rosamund, Lotte, and Mittel Jung."
Fei and I looked at each other. I know this guy! It was the same K/orean guy who took Beam, Ploy, and Ton to the van.
"Yes," Rosamund stood up.
"I would like to ask you if you are going to stay to witness the rest of the matches in The Krieg," said the K/orean man.
Rosamund shook her head. "We are heading straight to Berlin right now. We don't want to see the Filipino men."
"Very well then. Our team prepared the jet plane that you will be riding to Berlin. Please get your things ready, so that in the next hour, we can leave. A white van will pick you up and will bring you to the runway where our jet plane is. It's outside the gates of Orkatta," explained the K/orean guy.
"Danke schön," uttered the German ladies.
"After you, ladies," spoke the K/orean man and pointed the direction they have to walk. The German ladies walked slowly, until after a few meters… The K/orean guy did not move.
"Why is he still standing there?" I asked Fei.
"I have no idea, but I can feel they're in danger," Fei uttered.
After that, the K/orean guy brought out a small box, in which a ring could fit. He opened it and there's a ring. He wore it, clenched his knuckles, and a bluish-white fire was ejected from it…
"No way…" I murmured.
That bluish-fire suddenly formed this wild beast called monstigna that attacked the Jungs from behind. In just moments, the Jungs turned into piles of ashes. My heart beat so damn fast after witnessing that.
The K/orean guy summoned the monstigna back in the ring and used a strong wind power to blow away the ash everywhere. The guy looked everywhere and checked if there's someone else in the vicinity. Then, he left like nothing happened.
"Confirmed. They're killing all the participants of The Krieg," Fei said.
"Oh, no," I uttered.
"Most of the fights, the losing fighters die in the ring. If they don't, they find a way to kill them outside of the dome. Basically that's what's happening right now," Fei arrived at another conclusion.
"Why are they doing this?" I asked.
"That's what we need to find out in the coming days… starting with that K/orean guy," Fei pointed at him as he walked away. "We need to tell this to our friends. They need to know this. We have to protect them about this."
I can't think of anything else right now, but I do know one thing.
No one is safe…

Dungeon Scholar
Girl meets dungeon. What could go right? A story of a good-hearted Scholar driven by her compassion and curiosity. She might be a little combat averse, but um, isn't that only logical? Love me a good grimdark, but sometimes I want to read feel-good fiction that isn't pure action, romance, or comedy. The plot and characters of Dungeon Scholar won't be all happy and fluffy, and the world will be more dungeons and monsters than rainbows and puppies, but overall the sweet moments should overshadow the bitter. Let's say three dollops of sugar for every pinch of salt, with lemon slices left on the saucers? Enjoy. Note: This is NOT a typical dungeon story. If you are here for the dungeon aspect, then fair warning this will seem incredibly slow-burn to you. The dungeon will eventually become the most important 'character,' arguably, or the second-most important narratively, but you might jump out the window in frustration long before that happens. At its heart, the story's core remains 'girl meets dungeon,' not 'dungeon meets world.' (To be clear, this does or will have a plot! It's just the more conventional story-like elements contribute to Rowena Loress's greater story, not the other way around; no conflict takes center stage until it becomes personally significant to her.
