Aw, man, how disappointing...I wanted to say 'which of you wants to fight the Demigod of Chaos', but that title doesn't exactly scream 'peaceful'...it screams the total opposite. Anyway, I suppose that I might as well have some fun with this. These summons are definitely strong, if the first three fights have been any indication.
But they're no match for Kuro's strongest form...Shiro's Demon Mode would have also made short work of all three of his opponents so far. Azyl is well out of their league too, and that Fuo girl is able to briefly fight a full-powered Shiro on even terms. As for the rest, I'd say that the summons are on even terms or stronger...that said, maybe one of the remaining three is significantly stronger than the rest.
I wanted to ask, but I stopped myself...it's more exciting if I find out by fighting them or watching them fight. Yeah, I'll keep myself to one fight, any more than that and I might get swept up in the moment if things get chaotic. Now, then, let's see which of them are willing to take me on...
"I'll do it, sounds like fun," Volunteered Dwayne with a grin, running a hand through his hair as he stood up confidently.
"So, what's your fancy weapon called? And what does it do?" I inquired curiously.
"My spear is called Tonbokiri, or the Dragonfly Cutter."
"Huh? Why would you want to cut dragonflies? I mean, they're pretty weak and harmless," I replied with a slight tilt of my head.
"I don't know the exact details, but apparently it's because of the sharpness of the blade, it's so sharp that apparently, when it was made, a dragonfly perched itself on the edge of the blade...and got sliced in half, just like that. I don't know if that's true or not, but I can tell you for a fact that this blade is crazy sharp, I've even used it to cut through diamond like a hot knife through butter...and it's not just physical objects that it can slice through."
Okay, wow, that sounds really sharp, and that last part especially piques my interest...
"Interesting...then let's find out how sharp it is, shall we?" I replied with a smirk.
"Sure, but you're gonna regret that," He replied confidently, as we both took our places and I activated the barrier around us.
I'll only use Elemental and General Magic, so I'll be shelving my Dimensional and Weathering Magic for this fight, along with any other form of Divine Magic.
"Well, come on, then...show me what you've got," I taunted, getting ready to start.
"Fine, you asked for it!" He exclaimed, sprinting towards me rapidly.
Oh, not bad, he's a bit faster than the previous three, this should be interesting. I tapped my foot on the ground, sending out a wave of earth spikes rising up towards him. He didn't stop though, and as my attack began to reach him, he swung the spear horizontally across in front of himself, slicing through several of the spikes with ease, before springing straight up and flipping over the front rows of spikes.

He then drove his spear into the ground and used it to vault himself over the remaining rows of spikes and then pulled the blade out of the ground, swinging it straight down as he closed in on me. I swiftly formed a dense defensive barrier while springing back...even if he can slice through this barrier, I'm out of the line of his attack, his spear won't touch me.
As his spear cut through the air, it reached the barrier I just put up...and went through it like it wasn't even there, it didn't even slow down, that's how smoothly it sliced through, the tip of the spear just about an inch away from grazing my right shoulder. He then landed, tightened his grip on the handle of the spear and drove it straight towards me, I swiftly teleported away to avoid the attack, appearing a couple dozen meters behind him.
Okay, he has some skill, but he's too slow to-...huh? There was a deep gash on my right side...but how? I know for sure that I dodged his spear, it didn't even scratch me...but from the top of my right shoulder to my waist, I had a deep cut, blood pouring down from it. This really hurts...but fortunately, I don't need to use Restoration Magic to heal it, a normal General Magic healing spell will suffice.
"You look confused," Remarked Dwayne with a smirk, as I began to heal my wound, "You're wondering why I injured you despite the fact that my spear didn't touch you...that's just how sharp it is!"
I'm assuming that means that within a certain range, that weapon will still cut without needing to make direct contact...the spear had seemed to be about an inch away from me when he swung it down at me...and the injury felt fairly deep, about two inches, maybe...if I'm right, then if he swings that weapon and misses by less than three inches, he'll still inflict damage.
He's the kind of opponent who you want avoid close combat against...let's try attacking from a distance, shall we? I've been meaning to try out some Elemental Magic combinations anyway, this will be a good opportunity. I raised up some chunks of earth and coated them with swirling flames that rapidly intensified and grew, until they melted the earth, forming spheres of lava.
I fired them at him with as much momentum as I could generate, he managed to narrowly evade the first few that I threw at him, before slicing through one that came straight towards him, splitting it in half before it could strike him, and then twisting himself out of the way of the last one, which grazed his left shoulder, scorching off his armor and eliciting a hiss of pain from him.
He then shot towards me, aiming to close the distance...well, he can certainly try, but I won't make it easy. Wind began spinning in front of me and rapidly expanded and sped up, as I formed a tornado, using Earth and Ice Magic to create sharp debris to mix into the twisting mass of wind. Let's see him avoid this!

The tornado roared towards him, twisting violently as it began to close it on him. He didn't try to avoid it though, instead halting and taking a deep breath, holding his spear by the very end of the handle with both hands and raising it above his head like a sword, his eyes closed as a expression of immense concentration appeared on his face.
And then, his eyes flung open, a look of perfect calm in them as he swung the spear straight down...and split the tornado in two. Huh? I teleported out of the way as the slash shot forward after cutting through the tornado, a vertical line appearing on the wall of the barrier as it cut through and went on a bit further, before finally dissipating.
"Boom, how did you like my Universal Slash?" He inquired triumphantly, "I told you, didn't I? My Tonbokiri isn't limited to cutting through just physical objects."
That definitely caught me off-guard...I didn't sense any Mana in that attack...the same went for Lily's water attacks and Kyle's lightning...and having seen all that, I'm pretty sure that in the world they came from, humans didn't have Mana or any form of natural magical energy in them...instead, these legendary weapons, as well as the magic tools they mentioned before, must be using their physical energy instead.
In other words, their stamina...I noticed that the two who used water and lightning attacks against Shiro looked a bit tired despite both their fights having ended pretty quickly...those big attacks they used must have drained a significant amount of their stamina.
In which case, they're the type who would want to avoid fighting drawn-out battles. And those large attacks, with their wide ranges and impact points, will more often than not result in immediate victory.
But, of course, defeating me isn't nearly that simple or easy. I suppose I ought to end this fight now, there's no sense in showing off too much of what I can do, after all...hm, but as a sign of respect for surprising me, I guess I could finish up in a spectacular fashion...
"That wasn't bad at all...that's quite a handy weapon you've got there, I certainly wasn't expecting it to be able to cut through a literal tornado," I remarked with a smirk, before adding, "But you've had your fun...now let me show you exactly what you're up against..."
I activated a paralysis spell towards him, but before it could affect him, an alert look appeared on his face, as he sprang back and swung his spear up in front of him...canceling out my spell. My, my...what splendid instinct, that just impressed me much more than his earlier slash did. It would have been one thing if he got ensnared and then managed to break out, but this is on a whole other level...he CUT my spell!
I smirked widely as I stepped forward and raised my hands in front of me, forming a reflective dome-shaped barrier around him, with no gaps except for one spot right in front of me...in other words, if he wanted to escape, he'd have to get right by me.
"Huh...you do realize that I can just cut my way out, right?" He remarked with a raised eyebrow.
"And I hope you realize that the moment you turn your back to me or take your eyes off of me, you're finished," I replied confidently, before shooting out a fireball at him.
He dodged it easily, and as it shot past him, it struck the wall of the dome-shaped barrier...and reflected off it, blazing towards him again. He swiftly spun around and slashed it away, just in time...he really does have excellent instincts. But it's over...and by the look on his face, he'd realized that he was screwed. Ooh, I should name this...
"Elemental Chaos Dome!"
I fired out ceaseless and continous barrage of fireballs, lightning bolts, wind bursts, chunks of earth and water blasts into the dome, not even bothering to aim...he evaded several of the initial waves and slashes through them, he kept trying to get closer to the wall of the barrier, but he was too busy fending off the dozens upon dozens of Elemental Magic attacks that were only growing more intense and numerous with every passing second...
He slashed through a water attack and narrowly avoided a wind slash, which put him right in the path where a lightning bolt and a fireball was about to converge...and the next thing he knew, he was outside the barrier. Yay, I win!

Shaman
*** Let's get this clear now: the MC is a trans woman. This is not a gender-bender. It's set in a fantasy world but the exploration of identity and gender is reality-based. Not a joke, not a kinky turn-on. If this is a problem for you, please just act like an adult and look elsewhere for something to read. *** Rating breakdown, since that should be public info: 2 x 5*, 1 x 4.5*, 1 x 3*, no reasons offered. A human shaman and healer returns from several years with the mysterious shyani, accompanied by her shapeshifting puma best friend. A valued friend, from her previous identity as a male student physician, has acquired an old shyani book, and extremists will not tolerate its presence in human hands. But back in human lands, the question arises: which world does she belong in? Generations ago, human explorers found a continent inhabited by an utterly alien culture of shapeshifting weyres and the shyani, humanoids who prefer dusk and dawn. A truce of sorts was eventually reached: humans claimed the rich lowlands, and the shyani and weyres retain the highlands. Along the border, practicality often rules, but on either side, old grudges linger in some hearts. As a student physician, Corin tried to take his own life, unable to bear the countless tiny wounds inflicted over twenty-one years of lying to himself in order to be, or pretend to be, socially acceptable. At the last improbable instant, intervention came, in the form of a spirit fox, who led him away from the existence he’d known in the lowlands and into the highlands. There, a puma weyre rescued him, and a shyani shaman helped him find his true self and offered a rebirth, a life with no more lies, and an important role to fill. Now a shaman and healer in her own right, Vixen who was once Corin learns that the one human who mattered to her in her previous life, then a fellow University student, has come into possession of an old shyani book, and the more fanatical shyani and weyres will stop at nothing to reclaim it and punish Jared. Even though it means going back into the lowlands and facing Jared as a woman, she can’t bear to just look the other way. This should be a short visit, just long enough to see the book into the proper hands and make sure Jared will not be killed for having it, and then she can return to the shyani community that has accepted her as their shaman. And, of course, her feline best friend Dayr insists on coming with her. But Jared is now a Lord, with considerable wealth and power, and his response to her presence isn’t one she expected. After years living with the shyani, she sees everything around her from a new perspective, and that makes it difficult to keep to the plan of making as few waves as possible. As an honoured guest in a highborn house, with only Jared aware that she has ever been anyone else, Vixen finds herself questioning where she belongs: with Dayr and the shyani, who accept her gender without question but have to make allowances for her differences, or with humans, in the culture she grew up in even though her past would mean a major scandal? *** Trigger warning: there are scenes of Vixen's previous life, which include some difficult moments and culminate in an (obviously unsuccessful) attempt at suicide before she finds her true self and a better life. Please be careful! This is the ONLY reason for the "Traumatising Content" tag.*** Complete stand-alone novel, 96K words. Also available on Scribble Hub and as a free ebook.
