Celestial Peak Chapter 193

24th day of the 11th month of the year.
Wang Ling entered the Holy Domain and into the [Lord's City] which was inside the territory of Heaven's Will Academy's.
The Lord's City was a city of holy cultivators who labels themselves as righteous, which was disgusting. Wang Ling strode around the city and he could see people walking around with proud smiles on their faces.
They were condescendingly walking around showing proud smiles all over the place. That was Wang Ling's first thought. But after entering a restaurant and listening to the people who dined inside.
The people who he saw acting like they were all 'that' were the people who got invited to be a candidate for the Son of Heaven. He sighed at the poor insight of the Heaven's Will Academy, for them to invite such a number of useless people, they were truly shortsighted.
He ate in a restaurant and then went out to walk around the Lord's City. In the plaza of the city, he saw many couples and families walking around, he found such a scene entertaining. It was not something enjoyable, merely entertaining.
He looked around and then wandered into a bazaar where there were a lot of people gawking at items that was either useless or unneeded. He had good eyes for good items.
Speaking of good items, it seems like it was about time that Wang Ling found a good place to stay for the night. Heading for a place where many inns where built, he first went into some alley and whispered.
"Shadows, come out." two people dress in all black knelt before him.
"Reporting to First Young Master."
Wang Ling stared at the two and smiled at them with interest. The Shadow Pavilion was one of, if not the greatest organization that operated in the shadows. They mainly deal with assassination and in order for an assassination organization to flourish, the need for information was vital.

So, information was the key for any assassination organization to become successful and with the Shadow Pavilion of Butler Sun being considered as the best, their organization should also be top-notched.
They had people all over the whole central realms and even the three continents. The information division it had was second to none, which was how it could operate at a rate where it could almost deliver any information it wants to give to Wang Ling.
Wang Ling could, of course, fly under the radar of the Shadow Pavilion if he moves around in incognito. But as he was not trying to hide his presence while he remains in the Lord's City, Wang Ling was found rather easily.
After entering the Lord's City, Wang Ling already knew there were two people watching him from afar. He could tell they were there because his senses towards such a thing had been heightened by a lot in the previous era.
If a rogue cultivator like him wanted to survive back then, he needed the kind of senses that could instantly sense most of the potential dangers that lurk in the shadows and the open. He managed to develop such a reaction through his insane ability to process information that flows into his head. The credits roots all the way back to his master.
Looking at the two gatherers of information, Wang Ling nodded his head and ordered them not to observe him but should focus on his surroundings and let him know of any cheap places that would totally be okay if it gets wreak.
The two grunts looked at one another and then informed him of an inn that might fill the bill. Wang Ling thanked them and head out to find this said inn. He entered an inn that seemed borderline dilapidated and operational.
He entered the inn and registered as he entered he stuck out like a sore thumb to too many people. With his looks and attire many thought he was going to stay in some big and luxurious inns, but who would have thought he would be broke?

Well, some thought he was just being humble, which, for some reason made him likable to other people. While some thought he was merely trying to garner the attention of the Heaven's Will Academy by doing such an act. Many already judged him with one simple act of finding a cheap inn.
He entered the inn and went to find the designated room for him. He brought out a couple of stellar stones and set up a mini array. Wang Ling was no expert in setting up an array, but he had enough knowledge to set up one.
After doing all that, he went to sit cross-legged in the middle of the room and bring out the book he had bought in the auction.
The book in question was said to be unreadable as the texts used to write the book was otherworldly. Anyone would not want such a thing, but Wang Ling had the Devil's Pupils and as he observed the gibberish words, Wang Ling could feel a faint sense of kinship towards it. He did not know where this book came from, but it should be connected to the True Devil bloodline or the Hell Realm as a whole.
He also remembered the words of the auctioneer saying that it was found in the Devil's Catacombs. The Devil's Catacombs existed in the previous era and the era before that.
The Devil Catacombs were one of the three most ancient ruins in the whole realm.
Also, he was the one who unearthed the Devil's Catacombs. No one knows he did such a thing. In the previous era, no matter what he finds, he would keep it to himself if he could.
Those bastards of the previous era would try and take what is rightfully yours when they have the chance to do so.
Moving on, the Devil's Catacombs was one of the oldest ruins in the whole realm and in that very same catacombs was the place where I managed to find the Hell Dominator Body Refinement technique that allowed him to wield the bloodline of the True Devils.
Wang Ling found the technique, enshrined in one of the deepest areas of the Devil's Catacombs. If this one was also enshrined, then the book in his hand was as important as the Hell Dominator Body Refinement Technique.
"The Hell Dominator Body is already a mysterious piece of art that had appeared in the realm as something that transcends common beliefs. That refinement technique transcends Celestial Gods, it is a divine technique that is above even my level."
Wang Ling finds the Devil's Catacombs as weird and mysterious. For such a thing to exist and contain such valuable items, just how did it come to be?
Also, now that he thinks about it, the Overturning Nine Heaven Art is a technique that defies the heavens. Does that also have a connection with the existence of the Hell Dominator Body?
If so, what happened in the past that many variables spurted to create the present events? Wang Ling had too many questions, what are techniques that exceeded the limitations of the realm doing there, and why was the Heavens sealed in the first place?
Did all of that had a reason?

If you feel bothered by my borrowing elements from other magic systems, a) I'm not making money off of this... yet, and b) almost all Xianxia copy each other. This one, at least, has direction where other xianxia don't.

A Requiem For The End
Yuga wakes up on a cold, frigid land entirely covered in snow. Where was he? Who was he? Neither of these could he remember but he didn't have time to think of it, he could tell danger wasn't far. A quick death if he failed to avoid it. It was fast approaching and much as he tried to escape, it quickly caught up with him. Luckily he had survived, but was he just lucky or was there something more to him.....? A Requiem For The End is a fantasy story set in a world.......well, quite different from most stories you might have seen (I honestly don't know how to better describe it). Early into the story (prologue) the world feels elusive because you slowly learn about it through the eyes of Yuga. As you read on questions may arise in your mind and mysteries will present themselves. The answers to them will come the further you read. I'd like to think the plot is a bit larger than the average and same goes for the world building. If you find this story intriguing then all I can say is - There's a lot for me to tell, hop on?
