Celestial Peak Chapter 457

[Phew… in the end, I still couldn't assimilate the Hell Qi with my Holy Qi.] Wang Ling exhaled the impurities out of his body. Black speck came out of him but nothing more, he was tired from sitting for so long thus he stood up.
When his hands touched the ground to assist himself in standing up, his body went flying backward—BAM!*—Wang Ling smashed on the door behind him. He crashed and laid down on the floor upside down, contemplating why such an obvious thing happened.
"What are you doing?" Angel asked seeing Wang Ling's amusing appearance.
'I used too much strength.' He answered and had Angel make an "oh" before resting on stepping away from Wang Ling.
"It would appear you improved far too quickly, Wang Ling." Yuan Qing said as she and Yuan Ming crouched to observe him. In the entire Sailer, only the two of them would call him by his name with impunity. It had something to do with their inability to properly comprehend useless emotions or unnecessary thoughts.
Wang Ling received help from the two, he tried stabilizing himself as he spoke, "For a change, you two are correct without needing to speculate. My strength is too strong for my own good, I need to quickly regulate the force I throw before I destroy this ship."
The twins looked at each other then pointed at themselves, "Are we not the perfect candidate? Stronger than you, and unhesitant in fighting against anyone, we can even set up water barriers to protect the ship."
"…That could work." Wang Ling said as he attempted to step forward only to find himself almost throwing himself overboard across the ship.
"What are you doing, Master?" Chang Ping asked as she grabbed Wang Ling's hands. She pulled him inside the ship and then Chang Ping raised her brows, "Oh, you jumped too many cultivation stages, that explains why. Do you want some fruit, Master?"

When educated people surrounding you, it just made life a lot better. Wang Ling didn't need to explain anything
"Thank you." Wang Ling accepted a rainbow-colored fruit from Chang Ping, "This is sweet." Wang Ling commented.
"That's a Rank-8 [Rainbow Dew Fruit] from the Red World, it's a good pastime food. Though despite its high rank, it provides nothing more than a slight increase in sensitivity to qi." Chang Ping explained.
Chang Ping had stopped herself from giving Wang Ling the Rainbow Dew Fruit not because she saw it as valuable. She actually gave a majority of what she had to Leo and the others. No, the reason why she didn't bother handing it over to her Master was simply that it wouldn't serve Wang Ling any help. Her master's sensitivity to qi-related entities was already beyond the norm. Though it may prove to be a miracle fruit to younger disciples to wang Ling, it was nothing more than an improved apple.
Everyone in the Sailer was no different.
"Ah, are those Rainbow Dew Fruit? I love those fruits. May I ask for some in exchange for treasures?" Yuan Qing came out of the cabin and immediately initiated negotiation. Yuan Ming was already prepared to start hers if her twin succeeded.
Chang Ping only sighed at the two before throwing them a fruit each, "Those are free. Sir Roan! Qinyang!" Chang Ping also threw two fruits to the two who seemed to have just woken up from their deep slumber.
"All-Father, congratulations on reaching Mortality Severance." Roan respectfully said as he cupped his hand with fruit in hand. He had yet to call Wang Ling using his name. Wang Ling didn't reprimand Roan for such unimportant matters. Roan respects him enough.
"Thank you, Roan. But I must apologize about your door, I broke it when I accidentally used my strength." Wang Ling apologized.

"Please, do not mind fixing such a thing is simple. Just let me do the menial tasks, All-Father. This Ship can easily repair such things."
Wang Ling nodded as Angel lurked around Roan, 'Why are you doing that?' he asked the lass.
"I'm trying to see if he can see me. I have not made an attempt for him to see me with his Devil Ey—he can't see me." Angel despondently announced as she retreated to Wang Ling's head.
'Someday, we will find someone who can see you other than me.' Wang Ling tried his best to comfort the child.
"Ah… congratulations, Sir Wang Ling!" Qinyang happily congratulated him and Wang Ling nodded as thanks.
Before long, the twins finished their food and started the creation a dome of water to ensure Wang Ling not flying over to the darkness of the Cosmos, "Devil Roan, will breaking the flooring of the deck be a big deal? We will be sparring with Wang Ling to help him regulate his strength. Will the ship be able to recover from Quintessence intents?"
"Do not worry, I'll help it recover. Also, stop referring to him by his name. Do not be rude to the All-Father, how would it feel if I call the Mother of Beast?"
"Tread lightly, Devil Roan, we will kill you." The twins growled and before anything could start, Wang Ling tapped Roan with Heaven's Edge.
"Okay, that should be enough, I told them to use my name so it is not a problem. You can use my name as well if you want to, Roan."
"I-I cannot hope to…" Roan profusely refused as he looked at the twins, "You two get a pass."
The twins stuck out their tongues in response to his words.
Wang Ling shook his head as he kept the sword away and the others went to a side.
The twins saw what he had done, "What are you doing? Why aren't you using your sword?"
"Can't use it right now. I might kill the two of you." Wang Ling said casually as he looked at his barefoot seeing how he was leaving footsteps all over the place.
"What useless thoughts. Don't try acting big just because you grew a little stronger, Wang Ling. Do you really think you can beat us?" The twins spoke in a chorus, they were a little annoyed by how he was acting.
"I apologize if I have offended you, but I do think that I do not need them."
"You're going to regret that." the twins set their strength to the early stages of Mortality Severance just to prove their point. They got ready to fight as their eyes glowed with hostility, "Begin—"
Fwu!
All of a sudden, the dome of water was filled with Wang Ling's killing intent, and without any hesitation nor any desire to hold back, Wang Ling appeared in the middle of twins his palms already blocking their eyes, "I told you, I can't hold back right now."
"Shit." they said in unison.
BOOM!
With vice-like grip, Wang Ling grabbed the twins by the temple and slammed them on the ground.

The Way Ahead
What do you do when you don't fit in? Edwin never really felt many connections to other people, but as a physics student, that was fine. He didn't really need it, anyway. He was content to peel back the mysteries of the universe... not that there were many left to find. Modern-day research was just too well-established, too well-trodden for any single enthusiast to make any significant headway. But that doesn't apply to other worlds. Not ones where magic and Skills run rampant, where well-defined roles and Classes dominate much of society with little room for novel experimentation from its residents. That kind of world would be perfect for an overeager, newly-minted Alchemist to make his mark. Things are never that easy, though. The Way Ahead is a very slice-of-life story following the story of someone trying to find his place in a world that doesn't know what to do with him. Expect lots of science, lots of alchemy, a few sarcastic quips by the System, and lots of exploration involving the world, self-discovery, and above all, science. After all, further research is always required. Updates every other day at 9 AM PST. Congratulations! For writing a story during the month of November, you have unlocked the Royal Road Writathon Participant path!

A Fragmented Mind
"Hi there. My name is Richard Maddox, but my — admittedly nonexistent — friends call me Rick. I live in a world of superheroes and villains. A world filled with magic and physics-defying powers, and in this world, I'm just an ordinary, completely average 17-year-old boy. My imaginary friends, however, are as far from average as you get. You think you're good at deluding yourself? Well, stand back, because it's time for a master to show you his craft. Welcome to my life, the life of a madman." This story was originally inspired by the 'Legion' novella series written by Brandon Sanderson. If you've read those books and liked them, it might be worth giving this a read. The same goes if you haven't read them either, I guess. (Currently re-writing earlier chapters)
