《Glory e-sports》Chapter 72.1: Experiencing the tiredness that comes after a climax

The commentators spoke at a super fast pace and gave a brief review of the battle that had already come to an end.
FTW lost, and L&P won.
But at this time, all of them were true winners.
The ten people who had thoroughly enjoyed the battlefield were all worthy of applause and praise.
Commentator A: “FTW’s last wave was really unfortunate. If the gap in farming had been smaller, and Quiet had a full set of gear, it would be hard to say who would have won.”
“It’s already very impressive that their mentality didn’t collapse after facing off against that kind of cohesive action.”
“FTW’s mid-laner Silvery was very crucial. Although he fell at first, he managed to force VIVI back and block Yuan Ze, giving his teammates a chance to kill L&P’s marksman.”
The whole game was wonderful, but the thing that nobody could forget was FTW’s last counterattack.
Their defense towers were completely broken, and their lane soldiers had all been under their opponents’ control. They couldn’t touch the ancient creatures at all and were stuck in their base waiting to be abused.
Since they were sure to lose, they might as well go out and fight.
If they went out, they would have a chance to snatch control back over the lane soldiers. If they went out, they’d have a chance to win a group fight before their opponents took both dragon buffs. Going out gave them a chance to use their lives to find an opportunity to win.
FTW had indeed gone out to fight!
They’d first killed two people, torn down L&P’s tight defenses, then drawn out a bright flower of hope despite the desperate situation.
Unfortunately, they were up against L&P, a global championship team that had been thoroughly awakened from their slumber.
Their control over timing, their understanding of the operations, and their overall battle situation planning was far superior to that of the immature FTW.
Yuan Ze and Gary had each taken down an ancient creature, and the ancient blessings that shone on their bodies gave their stats a comprehensive boost.
The three high mobility players from L&P had all circled around, and FTW had no way out.
Even if they could see the lane soldiers, even if they knew that the dragons would spray fire at the resurrection crystal, even if winning or losing was a forgone conclusion regardless of the outcome of their current team battle.
They’d still chosen to fight.
Retreat would only lead to a worse death.
But there was still a chance for survival if they fought.
This was the judgment that Wei Xiao had made at the time.
As long as they killed L&P three seconds earlier, their captain, who was still alive, could use the teleportation skill that was already off cooldown to return home and protect their resurrection crystal.
Unfortunately…
There wasn’t really any need for the ‘unfortunately’. They’d already done their best.
Those last ‘three seconds’ was their growth target.
This goal required time and honing. It had to be accumulated gradually!
The game was over.
Wei Xiao leaned back in his chair, “Nice!”
Bai Cai laughed at him, “We lost, damnit. What’s so nice about that.”
Ning Zhehan breathed lightly, “Although we lost, it felt great.”
Old Yue nodded, “Yeah, really great.”
It felt better than the matches they’d won before.
Wei Xiao was amused, “Brothers, you guys are pretty good. Are you all quaking masochists? How about we solo when we get back, and I’ll let you feel even better than great…. ah, ouch…”

The captain had flicked him on the forehead.
Lu Feng: “Time to go.”
Wei Xiao followed suit and stood up even as he whined quietly to Bai Cai, “That’s not good, is the captain jealous? Will he end up keeping me out of the room tonight?!”
Brother Vegetable staggered and almost performed ‘how to land flat on one’s face’ on the stage, “Shut up, you!”
Both sides shook hands.
L&P’s mid-laner VIVI held Ning Zhehan’s hand firmly. Little Ning was very stubborn and gripped back just as tightly. The two of them had fought against each other in the arena, then fought over their grip strength after the match. A real man couldn’t lose anywhere!
Reasonably speaking, Yuan Ze should shake hands with Close, who was also a top-laner. However, he went to stand in front of Wei Xiao.
Wei Xiao reluctantly held out his hand. Yuan Ze lowered his voice and said, “L&P’s main doors are open to you…”
Wei Xiao: “Heh…”
Before he could mock these words, Yuan Ze had already finished the rest of his sentence, “To come and challenge us any time.”
Wei Xiao’s eyebrows rose up. He understood what he meant.
This doggy thing was finally acting like a human being.
Wei Xiao grasped his hand, used strength, and said, “Just wait. Next time I’ll make you guys try your best.”
Yuan Ze’s hand hurt. He secretly cursed that this brat was really strong, but he had to pretend that it was nothing on the surface. “I’m looking forward to it.”
On the other side, Gary was also trying to trash talk with Lu Feng with his broken Chinese, “I’ll garlic you next time…”
Lu Feng was expressionless, “You can use English.”
Gary: “…………”
Yuan Ze dragged away his own silly idiot and said goodbye to Lu Feng, “See you later.”
Lu Feng was slightly stunned, and the corners of his lips raised up slightly, “See you later.”
Wei Xiao stuck his head over. He seemed to sense that something was off and asked as soon as they got off the stage, “Captain, is ‘see you later’ some kind of secret code?”
Chen Feng, who’d just been about to give them a hug full of love, was stunned.
Tang Chen who was to the side laughed loudly, “Marshal said it, right? In the old FTW, they would say ‘see you later’ every time they lost in a solo game, which means that they’ll beat you up next time.”
Wei Xiao caught onto the key point, “Captain, you used to solo often with Old Bandit Yuan.”
Lu Feng: “Mm.”
Wei Xiao fought to make sure he was the one sitting next to the captain even as he asked, “How often?”
Chen Feng: “…….”
Wei Xiao was relentless, “Was it more often than we do?!”
Bai Cai’s brain hurt, “Brother Xiao, your vinegar smell is wafting over to us in the back seat.”
Wei Xiao was full of righteousness, “I don’t care, I can’t lose to Old Dog Yuan!”
Lu Feng whispered something to him.
Wei Xiao’s eyes lit up instantly, “Oh yeah, you two were together for more than a year, but we’ll be together for a lifetime. In that case, we’ll be playing together more often!”
Bai Cai died an instant death against the back of the seat.
Chen Feng: “……………………”
Be careful when showing love and stay away from small animals!
After FTW and L&Ps explosive opening game, the following game was a bit boring in comparison.

The Black Knights who were in second place were very chivalrous and selected the 6th place team. Both sides were steady, and the entire banquet hall grew a little drowsy.
The audience watching the live broadcast left some interesting scrolling comments––
“Sorry, fellow brothers. I’m experiencing the tiredness that comes after a climax.”
Although the words were crude, and although he was muted afterwards, this fellow brother had given voice to countless people’s thoughts.
FTW and L&P’s fight had really had repeated high peaks and climaxes. The audience had followed them and gotten incredibly high and excited.
When watching this match that was more like a bowl of clean and simple soup, they suddenly felt that it was very tasteless in their mouths.
The third game wasn’t bad though. Pro felt true love for 3U and chose them again.
Asleep and Cong Yi targeted Kim Sung-hyun and Li Heran desperately, and both sides played wonderfully.
Although 3U ultimately lost, the audience still gave this team a very high evaluation.
In this year’s winter training competition, China competition zone’s four teams were all very brilliant.
FTW went without saying; they were like a deep-water torpedo that had exploded throughout Glory’s 2021 competition scene.
3U wasn’t much worse. The pajamas combo’s eye-catching operations gave the entire China competition zone a lot of hope for the global doubles competition.
RR’s situation in Group B was similar to FTW’s in that they’d managed to pull aggro across the entire scene with their own efforts. Moonlit and Xie He had such a bloody exchange that the competition committee had to make a strategic decision to change the rules.
TPT seemed to be the most low-key. Other than the ‘scandal’ between Eurostar and Y1’s Yan Jiang, there was no other big news from them. Fans familiar with the team understood that TPT’s data emperor had already stripped down all the teams in Group B, and if he listed all the data, RR’s Money would probably be willing to risk running out of money to buy, buy, buy…
After the points competition was over, everyone dispersed and went back to their training rooms.
Coach Chen Feng obtained a recording of the fight and turned on the projector when he returned to the training room.
He placed both hands on the table and looked at the five starters, “… Very good.”
When the Poison-tongued Queen said these two words, Yue Wenle, who was usually in a daze, was shocked silly.
Ning Zhehan was a little excited and sat up straighter.
When they normally went over the game, Chen Feng picked out their faults until they could die, and he would never stop until he’d hammered them until they were dejected and in low spirits.
Although Ning Zhehan joined the team late, he’d also already experienced this Chen-style attack. It felt worse than being killed by the opponent in the game.
Today’s Chen Feng didn’t say any heavy words at all. The entire review process was abnormally smooth and basically filled with praise.
FTW had shown many problems during this game. Even without mentioning the bottom lane and support, just Wei Xiao and Lu Feng had already made a lot of mistakes.
Chen Feng was never polite to Lu Feng. So what if he was the great demon king? So what if he was the boss? As someone who’d watched him grow up (not), Mother Hen Chen concerned himself with actual events, not people!
Tang Chen’s ears were itchy, “Can you speak properly…”
Bai Cai nodded emphatically.
Chen Feng: “……”
Coach Chen, who’d managed to be gentle for ten minutes, blew up, “What, does your skin start to itch for a beating if I say some good words? Do you really need to be scolded? Bai Cai, don’t you feel embarrassed when you nod? Were you sleepwalking in the bottom lane? You didn’t hear the teleportation sound? Yuan Ze suddenly rushed in, and you weren’t even able to launch an ultimate move. What kind of fart holy priest are you playing?!”
Brother Vegetable: “……”
Tang Chen: “Mm, that’s how it should be.”
The training room burst out into laughter.
Chen Feng looked at the group of cubs who were in a good state of mind and didn’t hide anything anymore. He reverted back to his true colors and scolded them into bloody dogs.
At the end of the scolding, he still couldn’t hold back and boasted, “You guys fought really well.”
They really had. It was the best FTW game he’d seen in the many years he’d been a coach.
During the time when the Team of Gods was active, he’d gone on to become a data analyst after retiring and hadn’t been a coach.
When the Team of Gods disbanded, the coaching team had also scattered everywhere. When Close came to find him, Chen Feng had been terrified, “Will I be able to do it?”
Close had said, “If I can be the head of a club, then why can’t you be a coach?”
Chen Feng had looked at this youth who was much younger than him and gritted his teeth, “Okay!”
After three years of ups and downs, Chen Feng wanted to see a complete team more than anyone else.
And this year, he finally did.
A FTW that was able to play out with momentum despite being beaten by a global champion team!
It was exciting and stimulating on the stage, but it wasn’t the same off-stage.
If it hadn’t been for how Chen Feng loved his dignity, he might even have been forced to tears.
He couldn’t bear to scold them. Even if there’d been some small mistakes, the five players in the game had fought hard until the very end.
Being inexperienced was okay.
Not having enough experience was okay.
It didn’t matter if their game consciousness wasn’t great…
None of those things were a problem as long as they didn’t give up the game, didn’t dodge from hardship, and had a heart that wanted to win.
They were the best!
By the time they finished going over the game, it was half past ten.
Chen Feng wanted them to continue ranking on the international server.
Wei Xiao’s hands were itchy, “Let’s play as a team of five.”
He looked at Lu Feng with eager eyes as though fearing that the captain would have something else to do.
Lu Feng stilled, “Fine with me.”
Wei Xiao immediately grew excited, “Come, come, come, let’s do it. Top-jungler linkage, let’s study it further!”
They’d only done a single wave of it during the training match, and it really wasn’t satisfying. He wanted to try it again!
Lu Feng didn’t have a problem with it, and the others didn’t, either. It was only Bai Cai who said, “Wait for me, I’m going to squat on the toilet first.”
Wei Xiao was anxious enough to die, “Hurry up, hurry up. I’m sacrificing solo time for a five person queue, don’t mess with me!”
That’s right, he’d even let go of a great chance to solo with Lu Feng in order to play as a team of five. The sacrifice was huge.
Bai Cai was very reasonable, “If Laozi’s state isn’t good, you’ll curse me for being a vegetable.”
Wei Xiao inexplicably felt that this sentence seemed a little flavorful and waved his hand, “Go quickly and come back quickly!”
While they were waiting for Bai Cai, Wei Xiao felt aggrieved and turned to look at Lu Feng, “Captain…”
Lu Feng: “Hm?”
Wei Xiao asked, “What time are you going to bed tonight?”
Lu Feng always slept at midnight, and even lightning couldn’t change his schedule. However, everyone was in a good state tonight, and a little later was fine, “One o’clock.”
Wei Xiao was full of heartache, “Look, we’ll have no time to solo.”
Lu Feng’s eyes were stained with a hint of a smile, “There really isn’t time.”
Wei Xiao felt wronged to death, “Then, can I save it?”
Lu Feng: “?”
Wei Xiao: “Save tonight’s solo for another time when we’re free…”
Lu Feng indulged him, “Okay.”
Wei Xiao was greedy again, “Then, can I accumulate interest?”
Lu Feng: “…….”
Wei Xiao really admired his own wisdom and intelligence, “I have one round of solo tonight. If it’s saved for five days, it’ll turn into five games!”
Ning Zhehan and Yue Wenle, who were across from them, were dazed: That was such a high interest loan! What kind of interest was so crazy! Oh, it was Lunatic Wei’s brand of interest.
Lu Feng turned to look at him.
Wei Xiao wasn’t scared of his cold expression. He acted coquettish and said, “How about it? Look at how I gave up on soloing tonight on my own initiative for the sake of the team…”
The tips of Lu Feng’s ears that were blocked by his hair quivered slightly, “Okay.”
Little Ning and Yue: “…………………………”
The captain lost even before Wei Xiao finished his ‘coquettish’ act.
Wei Xiao beamed with joy, “Captain, you’re so nice! I like…”
The three words ‘you the most’ hadn’t yet been said when Lu Feng interrupted him, “Go kill soldiers.”
Wei Xiao: “Eh?”
Lu Feng reverted back to the great demon king’s true colors, “If you had been in full gear in the last wave, what would the result have been.”
Wei Xiao: “……”
The naughty child withered in a second, and Lu Feng started to feel a little distressed.
Wei Xiao: “Yeah! If I had six full pieces of gear, the damage dealt would definitely have been different!”
He would’ve been able to kill Old Dog Yuan at least two seconds earlier. In that case… FTW may have been able to win!
Wei Xiao had never been aggrieved when it came to proper business. He immediately went to open up his own custom game and kill soldiers.
Ning Zhehan followed suit quickly. Old Yue put down his potato chips and also started killing soldiers while waiting for Brother Cai.

A World With or Without Aliens
Nothing matters. It's not my opinion, it's a scientific fact. This is neither good nor bad, it just... is. I watched my entire country burn, fried on a patriotic pan after some jerk fired a bunch of nukes at the docile fleet of alien ships hovering over us. Who gave this moron such power? I don't know. Everyone involved is most likely dead by now. As for me, I can't die. I feel pain like a normal person would (I think), but no matter how terrible the conditions, I will never die or pass out. Fortunately, a lot of alien technology survived its crash to Earth, so I get to spend some time playing with it until Mr. Author gets bored and decides to screw up my life. Beware, this has a "harem" tag. If you haven't figured it out yet, I'm the main character and am therefore subject to this novel's timeline. While this bars me from the sweet ignorance of Chapter 1's me, it does have other perks... for example, I can tell you that heroine number one is personally responsible for kil-!? H-hey, back off! I'm your character, so if you didn't want me to be like this, then you should've written me differently! Randomguy here! In all seriousness, this novel is meant to explore the concept of nihilism as a post-apocalyptic/supernatural-scifi/satire told from a nihilistic introvert's first-person perspective. As you heard from my unsettled main character, each heroine is going to be a different type of horrifying socio/psychopath with dark motives and dangerous abilities (most of which are psychological). Why would I do something like this? Because I am, in reality, a nihilist who is often frustrated by weird things, like unrealistically dramatic stories, the industrialization of art (specifically music), and people who think swimming in brown creekwater for five hours is a "fun" activity. Don't get me wrong, neither me nor my character are depressed, we're just malcontents who make a lot of nerd references. I feel like the true essence of an "everything is worthless" perspective is lost on most pop-culture figures. The closest character I can think of at the moment is Rick from Rick and Morty, who is a drunk, angry nihilist that experienced tremendous loss. I, personally, find this belligerent state of mind to be very relatable, and have incorperated it into every chapter's introduction. Here, the main character talks directly to the reader (and me), shamelessly complaining about some semi-relevant facet of society, which probably doesn't make much sense... it's not really supposed to, though. These "angry nihilist" moments are just a peak into the main character's everyday existence, and also act as miniature rage-journals for me. It will sometimes take a subjectively 'positive' turn, but not very often. This is because reality isn't good or bad, "it just... is". I will eventually bring it full-circle to optimistic nihilism, since that seems to be a more practical way to live (and by "practical", I mean "doesn't create mental health issues"). It is, of course, a satire. I did this because most unnecessarily emotional moments or people usually make me feel kind of awkward, so I decided to mock them. That is, I plan to mock the characteristics about them I don't like in characters based solely off said characteristics. Thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoy my story!
