Jake was uncomfortable seeing Matthew fighting this much with Joseph, he hoped that meeting his best friend would be more enjoyable after so many months, but it turned out to be that way.

Oliver seemed more used to it and seemed quiet and agreed with everything Matthew said, seeing that Jake was uncomfortable he guided Jake discreetly into another room so that Jake wouldn't be in the middle of this fight.
