《Netheril’s Glory 》Chapter 2: Soul in the Void.

In the endless Void, a hurricane composed of wind of assimilation was traveling arbitrarily.
In fact, because the Void didn't have any physical or philosophical concepts, such as time, space, etc., the wind of assimilation was infinitely fast and infinitely slow at the same time. It was also randomly disappearing and reappearing. Suddenly, the wind of assimilation appeared next to a black sphere after countless such teleportation. In theory, nothing, including shape, size, and other concepts, should exist in the Void, but this big black sphere had a clear spherical shape, and a vast suffocating pressure was emanating from it. This black sphere was a universe.
In the next second, when the wind of assimilation again reappeared on the edge of this black Universe, something else could be seen inside the wind of assimilation, which was more incomprehensible than the wind of assimilation itself- A soul.
……..
Punk was floating along with the wind of assimilation. At present, He was in a daze;
he was on his way back from buying groceries, still worried about the upcoming college entrance examination, and in the next second, he appeared in this place which made him feel empty and cold instinctively.
"This is the Void. There is no concept of existence in the Void, just endless nothingness."
This was Punk's thought. He didn't know where this thought came from, but he instinctively knew that this was the truth, just like newborn babies, who, despite being born without any prior knowledge, knew they should cry and breathe.
Surprisingly, Punk's response wasn't panic or fear. But his first feeling was actually
"good, I don't have to think about college entrance examination anymore."
After all, no matter how unbelievable this situation was, he was a person who read countless fantasy novels.
So He started to recall those protagonists who transmigrated to a new world and how they dealt with the situation after rebirth.
"First, we must obtain information about the outside world. Whether it was by listening with our ears or seeing with our eyes, we could also try the legendary mental power perception. Then, we must ensure our safety."

But the first step was not that easy for Punk, as he was now in a soul state, his vision and hearing were gone.
"well, now I can only hope that my "legendary" mental perception will work!"
Thinking about this, Punk started concentrating and sent out a strong desire to perceive the outside world.
This kind of calmness and focus was completely impossible for Punk before. But at this moment, he easily mobilized his mental perception, and everything suddenly became visible in front of him.
The first thing that Punk perceived was the wind of assimilation. The chaotic hurricane composed of the wind of assimilation now seems to have stopped. Now it was silently blowing at the location that was again infinitely far and infinitely closer to the black Universe. Punk shifted his mental perception toward the very conspicuous black sphere, And when his perception touched it, he had a very familiar feeling, and he instinctively knew that it was the Universe he was born in.
Punk tried to move toward it, but he could not move at all; the wind of assimilation, which had almost no texture, somehow had an incomprehensible binding force. And Punk felt like he was embedded inside it.
"It looks like I can't go back."
Punk can only sigh helplessly in his heart.
There was no time in the Void. Punk felt like countless years have passed, and a single moment hasn't passed at the same time.
In fact, even this feeling was just an illusion that Punk's soul created.
The only fortunate thing was that Punk's soul has evolved because of this extreme environment of the Void. Even Punk didn't realize that the reason loneliness and Fear no longer bothered him was his evolved soul, which eliminated these emotions, In order to not let them distort his mind.
Just as Punk was trying to move his soul, a big purple ball suddenly appeared in Punk's perception. Punk knew that this was also another universe, but this Universe was much larger than the black Universe where Punk's home earth was. It was more than five times big; the black Universe looked like an egg beside a football.

Just as Punk was wondering how this purple Universe was so big, two Universe collided with each other. And because of the collision force, the wind of assimilation where Punk was traped faded away by a lot.
This aftershock was so powerful that If it weren't for the protection of the wind of assimilation, Punk's soul might have already been wiped by it.
When the two universes collided, a large number of small gray fragments burst out. Some of these fragments flew into the Void and disappeared forever, but most of these were rolled up by the wind of assimilation and drifted away with it.
Punk also felt that something like a forcefield that was enveloping the Universe broke simultaneously, And now Punk could perceive more information about these two universes.
Punk could sense that, although the black Universe was small, it was robust and powerful. At the same time, although the large purple Universe was gorgeous and huge, there were many inconsistencies, which was like a giant Mecha that has been repaired with plasticine.
However, Punk suddenly returned to the situation where nothing can be perceived again.
The two universes' protective layers seemed to be restored, and information from both, the purple Universe and the black Universe, was blocked again.
Punk was somewhat reluctant to watch when the two universes started to rotate calmly together. Punk guessed that this was just like wrestling experts. To outsiders, it might seem like two people holding each other's waist and doing nothing, but in reality, there were dangerous and rough moves that only combatant themselves experiences. Punk realized that now he was that outsider, and he couldn't see anything.
However, he quickly discovered something new. A gray fragment engulfed by the wind of assimilation drifted beside him at some unknown time. When the fragment got very closer, Punk had a strong instinctual desire to devoured it. So Punk swallowed it; After that, he only felt a warm current flowing through his soul, like a hot spring in winter; he felt very comfortable. "What is this? Could it be the Origin energy of a world of the legend!"
Punk was very excited:
"This kind of thing is very hard to come by."
Unfortunately, the distribution of these fragments was too scattered, and their movement was too disorderly.
Punk could only watch as many fragments flew past his eyes. He obviously tried to catch them, but his soul had very little mobility, and in the end, he could only watch as many of these fragments disappear into darkness without any trace.
But after an unknown period of time, Punk was able to absorb five or six of these fragments.
After this, Punk felt that his soul started evolving again. He instinctively knew that the unknown energy from these fragments was helping his soul to evolve, but this process might take a long time.
"Fortunately or unfortunately, the thing I don't lack at the moment is time." Punk thought with a little bit of discontent.
During the time, when Punk's soul was evolving, the wind of assimilation gradually decreased until it completely disappeared, and two universes, as if they had a prior agreement, began to attract all existence from the Void, including Punk.
Punk only felt that he was approaching the huge purple Universe in an awkward state that was both infinitely fast and infinitely slow. He was worried that if he reaches the purple Universe like this, he would be swallowed up, and the purpose of these two Universe obviously was to replenish themself by devouring other existences from the Void.
"Oh my soul, it doesn't matter what you evolve into; hurry up and evolve, or you will be swallowed up without knowing what your evolution was!"
Punk's soul seemed to have heard his wish, and the evolution was actually completed in the next second, just as Punk thought about it.
"But... "
When Punk saw his evolution, he became a little dazed and even ignored the threat that was close at hand.
"...System", Punk was amused.
" I unexpectedly gained a system from this evolution. Could it be......I was in two............"

Now, he is facing a royal prince and tells him to bow. This draws out one of his late father's teachings from the deepest recesses in his mind. "The blood of your great ancestors runs in your veins. Don't easily bow down to anyone, or accept suppression by any being, not even from a monarch, unless you pledge your allegiance to him. Also, giving in to oppression is directly telling the oppressor that you're easy prey and open for manipulation." He is uncertain on how to face this oppression right now. Will he bows or not? What will he do to uphold his father's words while keeping his life safe? As for the prince, Theodrech has nothing to do with Freidrech, so he wishes to let this slip, but the boy opens his mouth and proposes the most ludicrous challenge he ever heard and triggers his curiosity. This amuses the prince. It is the first he met a boy of the same age who is not intimidated by the air of authority he projects. Rather, this boy challenges him. "Why are you so headstrong? In fact, bowing to me is an honor. You saw the King's noble Knights. When they saw me, they bowed," says Theodrech, testing Freidrech. "Allow me to be forward, Your Highness. For me, bowing to a monarch does not guarantee loyalty. If I were you, I rather have men who stand straight in my presence but who got my back, than bowing men who are dreaming of my death," replies Freidrech. The prince’s curiosity increases. A huge smile is seen on his face. Prince Theodrech decides to take Freidrech under his wing.
