《Netheril’s Glory 》Chapter 35: A night Conversation.

Kane walked beside Punk from the stairs with only three steps. And disregarding the viscous blood still flowing on the ground, he sat on the floor. When his armor touched the ground, it made a crisp clanging noise which was very noticeable in this silent, dark, and bloody night.
Taking out a bottle of ale from somewhere, Kane sat on the ground and took a big gulp. Regardless of whether Punk was listening or not, he said in an indifferent tone:
"Hey! Do you think our lovely princess can win? "
"The walls of Konola City have been riddled with holes."
Punk's answer was not so much as a response to Kane but to himself. He squinted at the wall that was smashed by two official-level powerhouses during the day. Now the gap in the wall was blocked by the vines summoned by McNeesey, and It was like a piece of green plaster was pasted on the blood-stained ancient city wall. It was looking very awkward!
"There is not much food in Konola."
Punk pointed at the refugees, who were now homeless under the city wall due to their houses' destruction during the bolder shower. His voice was flat and indifferent, without any ups and downs.
"The enemy has the support of the whole Camos Kingdom."
Punk looked up at the enemy camp in the distance.
"But If you can change the "lovely princess" to an "official-level princess," then there are still some possibilities to win!"
Finally, Punk concluded with a bit of sarcasm.
"Oh~" Kane stood up and lazily stretched his waist while making a complaining voice:
"But I haven't got the Royal Fighting Skill yet, and cleaning these trashes is really easy, so I can't just run away in disgraces without even getting my salary, right?"
Kane placed his lance heavily on the ground, letting the lance's tip sink deep into the city wall, and leaned back on the wall stack, looking up at the beautiful starry sky.

"It doesn't matter! If our official mage wants the princess to survive, he must act tonight. Otherwise, if the enemy starts desperately attacking the city tomorrow, then even if mage McNeesey could stop commander Lunka indefinitely, our ordinary Soldiers will not be able to block others."
Facts have proved that Punk's speculation was correct. As soon as his voice fell, Kane, who just opened his mouth and wanted to say something, stopped seeing a neatly dressed apprentice warrior trotting over.
"Excuse me, Are you two professionals at the official level?"
"...".
"...".
This sentence was tantamount to asking for nothing. Neither Punk nor Kane hid their soul level. Any professional could see their level of strength at a glance.
The apprentice warrior also found that the question he asked was a bit dumb. He scratched the back of his head embarrassedly and said shyly,
"Lord McNeesey asked all the trainee-level professionals to go to the city square!"
Kane glanced at Punk, pretending to be very surprised, and said loudly:
"Wow~ magical, you can guess all these!0_0."
Punk ignored Kane. He blessed himself with a secondary lightness skill. Then he jumped down from the city wall and landed on the ground. At the same time, Kane also jumped down. However, Kane created a small hole in the ground, and the loud sound caused some panic amongst the commoners.
The city square was not far from the location where Punk and Kane were sitting, and it could be clearly seen what was happening at the square.
Now, after Kane's dramatic entry, everyone in the square was staring at them. Even the princess and mage McNeesey standing on the high platform was no exception.
Punk turned a blind eye to everyone's surprised gaze. He walked silently towards the gloomy group of mages, while Kane, who liked to be in the limelight, had a completely different way of entering.
Kane pulled out a bright red flower from some unknown place and started walking with a standard aristocratic pace toward the center stage while completely ignoring the crying and howling of the surrounding soldiers. And after gracefully walking near the princess, he performed a perfect aristocratic etiquette and held his hand out with the flower in front of the princess and said-

"Her Royal Highness Princess Nesa, who is as beautiful as the Moon, this humble Knight Kane devoutly offering this flowers to congratulate you in advance of your inevitable victory."
Kane, who didn't let the armor make any sound from beginning to end, handed the flowers to the princess in an elegant posture. The scene was filled with a romantic atmosphere and demeanor for a while!
"Thank...thank you..."
Princess Nesa obviously hadn't encountered such a situation before. Her Royal Highness, who was initially very serious, now was like a shy little girl at this time, and her face became flushed.
Although Kane's "performance" was exaggerated and pretentious in the eyes of a truly mature person, but for a young girl like Princess Nesa, who was not familiar with the world and had no experience in love, it was still very effective.
Just as the princess was about to receive Kane's rose, a simple sentence of Mage McNeesey interrupted this romantic ceremony!
"Well, I am very pleased with your loyalty Knight Kane, but now I am going to announce important military arrangements."
McNeesey indifferently blocked the princess's slender hand that had already reached halfway and said to Kane a little coldly!
Kane, who had to retire to the crowd, received a message from Punk through a short-range communication spell. This spell could establish a two-way mental power channel for a while, so it was very useful for communication in a noisy environment. Of course, Mage McNeesey found out that Punk was using a communication spell, but he would not know the content.
"You shouldn't have made such a big fuss to test the relationship between McNeesey and the princess"!
Punk told Kane with a cold tone. This guy's dramatic appearance undoubtedly made people notice himself right next to Kane. Obviously, Kane busted his "staying low-key" plan.
"Hahaha~ its not like that. I had some other reason for doing it~."
Kane smirked after hearing Punk's dissatisfaction!
"Oh! let me hear it then."
"I wanted to leave a good impression to the princess, so she would follow me when she is defeated and have to escape, and then I could sell her to that Prince William. It will not be a problem to make a fortune like this!"
Punk sensed the deep meaning of Kane's words and responded indifferently:
"This plan is too risky, McNeesey may not fall, and we have no knowledge of Prince William's situation, so keep me out of this!"
Punk's answer was decisive and firm!
"It's just a plan. To be honest, I observed the battle between these two great powerhouses during the day."
Kane calmly spoke while pretending like he was listening to McNeesey's speech on the stage:
"That commender Lunka's strength is definitely higher than McNeesey's, At least one level. And there are many other official-level professionals like McNeesey in the Kingdom of Camos. You are afraid for no…~"
"The risk is too great. I will not participate!"
Punk still answered without hesitation and then cut off the communication spell. In terms of knowledge, He was not as poor as Kane, who was in short supply of trainee-level skills. His trainee-level knowledge was still sufficient, so there was no need to take huge risks for a little bit of profit!
Now, the most urgent thing was to get some alchemy formulas, and for this, he still needed McNeesey's help. Punk squinted slightly while looking at McNeesey, who was announcing tomorrow's strategy on the stage!
