《Netheril’s Glory 》Chapter 130: Fighting the Ice rock worm.

The Ice rock worm was a kind of magical beast that lived in cold and icy places. Adult Ice rock worms lived alone and ate minerals from the rocks. They had a mild temperament and would do their best to avoid conflicts.
But that didn't mean they were not powerful. In fact, these guys would already possess apprentice-level strength and be more than ten meters in length when they were just born. Typically, adult Ice rock worms could become peak trainee-level existence, but some lucky Ice rock worms, such as the one in front of Punk's group, could reach the official level or even the legendary level. And from their other name, "the underground dragon," it could be easily deduced that these big guys were not something to be trifled with.
The ice rock worm rushing toward the Punk's group was an official-level magical beast, and it also lost its gentle nature after staying in the Rift valley for a long time. The Crazy Ice Rock worm let out a deafening howl and opened its big mouth wide, wanting to swallow the three little guys in one bite.
"Boom!!"
It was really worthy of the title of "underground dragon," as only a random attack from it almost shoveled off an entire layer of rock and ice from the cliff of the Valley. The whole cliff wall shook violently from the collision, and the terribly loud roar shook off a lot of snow, exposing the rock below.
But its attack did not hit any of its targets.
Facing the huge mouth covered with multiple layers of sharp teeth, whether it was the cautious Punk or the carefree dwarf, their first thought was to avoid it.
When dealing with this kind of opponent, if one thought that they could enter the beast's belly and kill it from the inside like some novels, they would definitely have a miserable end. The stomach acid of ice rock worms could even digest magical ores such as mithril and Craig copper. So even Bahanger, with his extremely tough defense, probably would not be able to get out if he was actually swallowed.
However, as the Ice rock worm's attack was not very fast, it was not difficult to avoid it. Still, the old dwarf obviously had a deep resentment toward this large creature.
"Damn it; I hate fat things the most. Watch me how I hammer you skinny."

Avoiding the first attack of the Ice rock worm, Bahanger took advantage of the time when half of the Ice rock worm's body was still inside the rock and rushed up first; Kang Kai and No. 1 also followed closely. Kang Kai, like a gust of wind, climbed on the Ice rock worm's back.
Unlike the three meat shields, Punk immediately blessed himself with a swift spell and retreated as soon as the rock worm burst out. At this time, he was already risen tens of meters through the icy cliff and positioned himself in a place out of the Ice rock worm's attack range.
Although the three official-level powerhouses didn't have a tacit understanding, everyone had experienced a lot of battles, so facing the enemy, they set up a relatively standard formation to counter the enemy.
As a ranger with the fastest speed, Kang Kai started to walk around the rock worm's head to attract its attention and tried to find an opportunity to injure its vital organs such as the eyes and the nose. On the other hand, Bahanger and No. 1 acted as melee tanks to block the Ice rock worm's attacks to create opportunities for Kang Kai and Punk.
Punk, as a mage, hid in the back in order to prepare his spell.
The first blow came from Bahanger. The furious dwarf gathered a huge amount of battle qi on his hammer, then jumped up and hit the Ice rock worm's head heavily.
"Try my heavy hammer, you damn bug."
"Boom!!!"
The heavy hammer had a terrifying power no less than that of a siege artillery. After being hit by it, the carapace of the rock worm was instantly damaged, and a dark green viscous blood was sprayed everywhere like a water fountain.
Then immediately afterward, Kang Kai's attack had also arrived. A high-frequency vibrating dagger appeared next to the Ice Rock worm's eyes. The vibrating dagger was creating a sharp buzzing sound that blew away the surrounding snowflakes. With his dagger that was now under the effect of an official-level skill called Vibration knife, Kang Kai sharply and accurately punctured one of the Ice rock worm's red giant eyes.
The short sword that used the wind force to generate high-frequency vibrations was as powerful as an ultrasonic oscillating Knife from the earth. If this dagger hit the Ice rock worm's eyes which were the weakest part of its body, then it would obviously cause a lot of damage.

The angry Ice rock worm was also aware of the danger, and it quickly raised its head and tried to avoid Kang Kai's attack, but...
"Keep dreaming!"
How could Punk, who was supposedly preparing for spells in the far back, allow such an efficient attack to be wasted; so he immediately ordered No. 1 to use the "steel binding" spell to restrict the Ice rock worm's movements.
From the mysterious magic formation glowing on No. 1's hand, countless steel filaments appeared and wound up every joint of the Ice rock worm. Although its tremendous strength allowed it to break away from the steel binding in just two seconds, the spell still achieved its goal of delaying the Ice Rock worm, and Kang Kai's deadly dagger successfully hit it.
"Roar!!!"
The Ice Rock worm whose eye was cut in half made a terrifying howl. Feeling that its vision on the left side suddenly went black, followed by the piercing pain, the Ice rock worm instinctively shook its head, and its body covered with dense bone spines left deep marks on the ice-covered rock cliff.
Because of its violent shaking and twisting, it almost formed a small-scale AOE effect, and Bahanger and Kang kai had to temporarily retreat to avoid the Ice rock worms that went crazy from the pain.
Finally, the injured rock worm exposed its entire body from the ground and stood on the cliff with its hundreds of sharp arthropods.
It no longer dared to underestimate the three small enemies in front of it. The Ice rock worm, with its instinctive consciousness, had a premonition that if the three enemies attacked in cooperation, it would be dismembered piece by piece in no time.
How could the Ice Rock Worm, who had always been the overlord of this ice valley, tolerate such an ending? So it decided to go all out to defend its status and life.
"Roar!"
After letting out a low roar, the ice rock worm took advantage of the fact that Kang Kai, Bahanger, and No. 1 had retreated, then while resisting the sharp pain in its left eye, the Ice rock worm opened its mouth toward the place where Bahanger and Kang Kai were.A light ball condensed with pure white energy quickly formed in the Ice rock worm's mouth, and then a dazzling white light burst out from it.
This was one of the killer moves that the Ice Rock worm was proud of. Every time it confronted a tough enemy, it would use this trick to kill the opponent. And the Ice rock worm believed deeply in its heart that this time would be no exception.
Just when the Ice Rock worm was about to release the white energy ball that had been compressed to the size of a football toward Kang kai and Bahanger, a lilac translucent energy ball came flying from its left side. The suppression of the legendary aura on perception was both ways, and as the Ice Rock worm's left eye had already been injured, it didn't realize that something was wrong until the little ball already reached its mouth.
But now... it was too late, and the lilac ball hit the white energy ball that was about to be launched.
This spell that Punk released was undoubtedly the "Kinetic energy stagnation."
A circle of lavender spherical field enveloped the Ice rock worm's head and the energy ball attack that was about to be released suddenly stagnated above the rock worm's head.
Now, the question was, what would happen if a pile of explosives was ignited then was locked in a small box?
Anyone who had studied physics could give the answer- It would explode. And without any surprise, that was exactly what happened; the energy ball exploded beside the Ice Rock worm's mouth.
There was only a dull sound like the explosion of a shock bomb, and then it seemed like a small sun had lit up in the mouth of the Ice rock worm. However, the "little sun" did not emit radiation and heat but endless bone-piercing coldness.
The white energy of the concentrated explosion seemed to have turned into a fluid. The part of the rock worm's head that was passed by the white energy was frozen into crisp ice in just a few seconds. Also, due to the sudden drop in temperature, the originally tough scales on the Ice rock worm's body begun to crack, and large drops of green blood leaked out from the cracks.
The rock worm screamed and wailed in pain, and it tried desperately to shake off the white energy from its head, but the energy from its own attack was like a bone maggot stuck to its scales.
