《Taming Master》Chapter 540: Legendary Fire King Spirit 1

“Are all the team leaders in here?”
“Yes. General Manager.”
“Would you like to start the meeting, sir?”
The planning team of Kailan had gone through numerous changes.
Initially, it started with three teams—but as the game expanded, the organizational structure continued to reorganize.
Now, it has been born as the planning headquarters, which had consisted of seven planning teams and one designing team.
The head of the planning team was Kim In-Cheon, who was in charge of the entire planning teams.
Kick-!
As Kim In-Cheon opened the door, a total of eight team leaders who were seated in the meeting stood up.
“Let’s sit down. There are many important things we need to discuss in today’s meeting.”
After everyone sat down, Kim In-Cheon looked around at the room.
And saw Na Ji-chan who was seated on the left side, who spoke while smiling,
“Our Ji-chanie has already become a team leader, isn’t that a kind of inspiration?”
“Haha, thank you. General manager.”
Na Ji-chan was the last employee of the planning team, who had been directly selected by public recruitment when Kim In-Cheon was the team leader.
With his good track record, he quickly became a team leader.
Kim Yu Hwan who was seated right next to Na Ji-chan mumbled out loud.
He had been about a year senior to Na Ji-chan when he joined.
“This kid has been climbing up lately, General manager. And now he is the same as me, a team leader. Now he talks back.”
“When did I do that?”
“Right now, this idiot.”
And while watching the two of them fight, the other team leaders nod their heads.
“Kuku.”
“They are always noisy when they meet.”
“Well it is a nice fight, feels good to see that too, right?”
Na Ji-chan was an unprecedentedly fast-moving case in the LB, but the other team leaders weren’t jealous at all.
The reason was simple.
Throughout the who LB, there had never been another person who worked as much hard as Na Ji-chan.
The work time was one thing, but the work performance was almost double that of any other ordinary employee.
“Kay, stop talking now.”
Kim In-Cheon calmed the noise with his heavy voice and pressed the remote control towards the screen.
And on the white screen came up various graphs.
“Everyone here knows the topic of today’s meeting.”
The attention of all the team leaders gathered onto the screen.
And at the top of the screen, in bold letters, was written a line of text.
[Ranker Status by Servers]
‘Hmmm, there are quite some surprising numbers?’
Na Ji-chan looked interested as he saw the graphs on the screen one after the other.
Na Ji-chan has not been able to monitor Ian for a while as he was due a lot of projects which he took up since becoming the team leader.

But in the meantime, Ian’s level fell away a lot.
‘This can’t be… in the top 20.’
There were around 30 servers for the Kailan in the whole world.
Therefore, even in the top twenty, each of the 1st ranking users of the server had to be there.
And the level difference between the 1st place to the 20th place would be about 2 and 3.
However, it was shocking for Na Ji-chan that Ian who had always been in the 1st and second fell down to the 20th.
‘What is it? If it was on the 10th then I can remain calm… but this couldn’t happen.’
Na Ji-chan opened up the smart tablet that was on the table to get a detailed chart view.
And soon was able to find a few interesting facts.
‘Ian’s level has been the same for two weeks already?’
And that didn’t mean that Ian stopped playing.
He was almost connected at full time like he always was.
‘What is going on?’
Much more interested, Na Ji-chan began to tear down the information of Ian one after the other.
Then, not long after, he was able to find out why the level of Ian had been stagnant.
“Middle-Earth!”
“What was that, team leader?”
“Ah, nothing. GM.”
Na Ji-chan who brought in the attention of the GM smiled and looked over at the chart of Ian.
‘Indeed… there wouldn’t have been a reason for the level of Ian God to have fallen.’
Na Ji-chan’s eyes were fixed on the graph that was floating in the middle of the tablet.
And in that, Ian’s play had been in the first place with an overwhelming score.
-Level Ranking (Transcendence)
-Rank 1: Ian. Transcendence level: 7 (53 percent)
-Class: Summoner Lv. 447
-Play Score: 100
-Rank 2: Mark Oliver. Transcendence level: 6 (42 percent)
-Class: Magician, Lv. 431
-Play Score: 67
-Rank 3: Wang Wei. Transcendence level: 6 (36 percent)
-Class: Summoner, Lv. 436
-Play Score: 63
-Rank 4: Sharkran. Transcendence level: 6 (26 percent)
-Class: Warrior, Lv. 446
-Play Score: 55
The difference between transcendence levels 6 and 7.
The difference between 1 level could be considered as ‘overwhelming’ as this wasn’t a normal leveling, but the transcendental.
The experience system itself was different from the level with the earth system.
Among them, the experience tables between 1 and 10 were more unusual, and it was designed to make it very difficult to shoot over the level of 10.
Especially from level 6, the required experience to level up increases exponentially.
For example, the time needed to make level 6 to 7 was much longer than the time needed to reach level 5 from the first level.
‘And the difference between the second place and the experience… the field hunting is almost full.’

Besides, that wasn’t the only interesting thing.
At the top of the ranking charts listed from the bottom of the transcendental level rankings, Ian’s name was there.
-Quest Score
-Rank 1: Ian. Quest Score: 109,512
-Hunting Score (Transcendence)
-Rank 1: Ian. Quest Score: 978
-Raid Score (Transcendence)
-Rank 1: Ian. Quest Score: 81,092
But after a while, Na Ji-chan’s eyes went wide as he was looking at further information in the charts.
‘Uh uh…?’
A name that shouldn’t have appeared on the list of Ian’s had been there.
-Quest in Progress: Contaminated spirits on the Spirit Mountain (Epic) (Hidden)
* * *
A sphere of white light was floating in front of Ian’s eyes.
It soon began to wobble and shake the branches of the tree.
“Oh…”
Exclamation leaked out of Ian’s mouth.
The pattern of the magic circle made in the sky was thin and because of the colourful features in it, it was incredibly complex.
And after a while.
Woong-!
After the magic circle had been completed, a line of system messages popped up in front of Ian.
Tring-!
[The Ancient Spirit Summon Magic Circle has been completed.]
[Summon medium has to be chosen (Attribute essence)]
Ian opened up his inventory.
And among the five-colored beads in there, he picked up the brightest red bead.
‘Please, a fire spirit…!’
After taking a deep breath, Ian activated the magic circle.
[You have selected a medium.]
[Magic Circle has been triggered.]
Wheeing-!
The attribute essence of the fire spirit which had been placed in the center of the magic circle began to shine very vividly.
And the magic circle which had been white from the beginning gradually began to turn into red.
“…!”
An ancient spirit summoning magic circle filled the hut of Syalron.
The eyes of both Ian and Syarlon were fixed in the center of the circle, and the pattern of the red circles began to generate rapidly and was rotating—merged into the shape of the base magic circle.
Kwah-!
Subsequently, in the middle of the circle, a huge pillar of red flames sprang up.
Tring-!
[The Ancient Summoning magic circle has worked successfully!]
[Increased the chance of summoned spirits!]
[The Advanced Essence of fire has turned extinct.]
[Increases the chance for summoning a fire spirit.]
[Spirit power has been amplified.]
[A strong powerful fire has been summoned.]
In between the huge pillar of fire that stood in the center of the magic circle, a faint shadow caught the eyes of Ian.
And it gradually began to take a shape.
“Hmm…?”
Ian who was looking at it with utmost concentration tilted his head.
The silhouette that started to shine in the pillar of fire was very different from what had been imagined.
‘What? That is… looking like an egg?’
However, next to Ian was Syarlon who seemed to have a rather opposite reaction.
“Oh oh, om my god!”
Syarlon had opened his mouth as if he had seen something very incredible.
Next to Ian’s eyes came some system messages.
Tring-!
[The spirit summon has been completed.]
[Minor fire spirit, ‘The red fire’ has been summoned.]
[Do you want to make a contract with the spirit?]
The fire pillar that burned up suddenly faded away and a red sphere began to float in front of Ian’s eyes.
And Ian who didn’t understand what was happening at that moment was just dreaming.
Ian was confused.
‘There is a concept of egg in the spirit dimension too?’
Once the fire spirit was summoned, it could be said that he had obtained his desired one.
But what Ian expected was like a salamander, the spirit of the lowest flame.
He didn’t even know that these eggs could be summoned in the first place.
But the confusion didn’t last long.
‘If this is hatched, will I get a salamander?’
Anyhow, it was successful in getting the fire spirit, even if that meant that it would take a little more time in hatching and growing it.
Ian opened the info window of the guy.
-Red fire egg (Fire spirit)
Spirit Power: 0/1000
Attribute: Fire
Rank: lesser spirit
Summon duration: unlimited
*Eggs hatch when the spirit power reaches the Max.
-Each time a summoning spell that requires a fire attribute is used, a certain amount of spirit is gained. (This wouldn’t apply when in the state of an egg.)
-Fire attribute essence (or Nature marble) can be used to fill the spirit power.
Least essence: 2
Lesser essence: 14
Intermediate essence: 98
Higher essence: 686
Advanced essence: 4,802
*The higher the summoners summon magic, the longer will be the duration of the summon. (This doesn’t apply when in the state of an egg.)
‘Fortunately, it isn’t difficult to hatch it.’
If it was what Ian had learned from his experience, it would have been almost impossible for eggs to hatch.
And it would have been impossible to use an ‘essence’ to a spirit even before seeing the spirit.
But that wasn’t the case now.
So far, if he used all the lowest level of the essences he had collected from the spirit dimension, almost half of the spirit power would be filled.
In addition, Ian also had obtained the ‘Nature marble’ which he had acquired for clearing the quest.
‘Huh, should I start with the essence first?’
Ian began to use the essence of fire which was in his inventory.
[Use the item ‘Lowest fire essence’.]
[Increases the power of the ‘Red fire egg’ spirit by 2.]
[Use the item ‘Lower fire essence’.]
[Increase the power of the ‘Red fire egg’ spirit by 14.]
And behind Ian was Syarlon, who spoke after a long gap of silence.
“The Fire King, a legend is waking up…”

To The Far Shore
Post apocalyptic Oregon Trail. The apocalypse has come and gone. And come back again, and left again... nobody really knows how often. Nothing lasts forever, but nothing is ever completely gone. Which is a shame for young Mazelton, as his family has been around a terribly long time, and made an astonishing amount of enemies. Millenia's worth. So he has to run- from mobs, cannibals, soldiers, sailors, cholera, cattle, thieving sales-monks, starvation, mechanical horrors, vengeful spirits, negotiating your own marriage, and poison of every sort. Fortunately, his not terribly nice family has trained him well in the arts of core polishing. Or as you and I might know it- turning radioactive pellets into useful tools. And weapons. Updates Monday-Wednesday-Friday. Usual defensive tags applied. The goal isn't exactly family friendly, but you have probably seen worse on network TV. After the watershed. Act 1 of the novel is completed, but do please let me know what works, what doesn't, and what you would like to see more of. Thank you, and Enjoy!

Rimward Bound
Every citizen of the sky-cities of His Majesty's Star-Empire knows that a ship, both sky- and star-, is more then just a few bits of metal. It is the grand sum of it's hull and the crew that sail it. 'Hulls of battle-steel and men to match!' That's what the Navy's recruitment poster's claim at least. Every sailor knows that there is one more component that the city-bound folk ignore at their own peril: the soul of the ship. That it takes both man and hull to make a true ship, and that neither alone serve well or for long. In 8225 Lord Jeffrye Saltonstall the Fourth, Political Lord of the Surveyor's Corps, demands semi-automated ships to 'reduce the loss of life among our brave crews', manages to convince the other politicians and bureaucrats to fund them, and gets the Office of Ship Construction to sign off on the ships as structurally sound. She sets out in 8233 to great fanfare on a trip expected to last six months. Neither she nor her twelve-person crew is ever heard from again. By 8235, the remaining seven Explorers are are commissioned. Lord Saltonstall managed to find crews for six of them but at the cost of mass resignations. The Night Horse, last of the Explorer class, sat in reserve as her sister-ships served well enough despite ill luck and misfortune. The Office of Ship Construction quietly issues notice that no more semi-automated ships are to be built and that all active Semi-automated ships are to be quietly retired and broken up for scrap over the next ten years. The Night Horse, sitting in reserve, is missed due to bureaucratic oversight. In 8250 Lord Ayland Wynstryngham the Eighth assumes the office of Political Lord of the Surveyor's Corps. His first act is to issue notice that no ship is to be without crew nor sit in dock or reserve for longer then required for maintenance and upkeep. The Night Horse, all but forgotten, is quietly brought back into active service. Recruiting a crew for her proves another matter entirely. What poor or desperate fool would willingly sign on to crew, much less command, a cursed ship and spend months or years in deep space? Well, you would, of course.
