《MMORPG: Martial Gamer》Chapter 567. Surrounded by the Enemy

As the saying goes, do not quarrel with an idiot. They will quickly drag you down to their level of intelligence then defeat you by their experience.
All these while, Quan Zhen Sect battled based on battle tactics which relied mainly on diverse changes. However, now that they were exchanging spells with Berserk Heavenlaw’s players, no one was a match for Berserk Heavenlaw when it came to such shameless tactics.
“They got away again. These people are sure really sneaky. We can’t even hold them down, much less kill them!” Spring Halo said depressedly as his [Dark Barrier] failed to hit its target again and again.
Crowd control skills had exceptionally long range but since Berserk Heavenlaw’s players had the ability to tackle Magicians, even Spring Halo had no way to deal with them.
Crowd control skills were so scary that the spells Ming Du sent to attack them from the ground could not even reach them… However, sending spells from the top could not kill them… Hence, they had no choice but to let their opponent buy time while waiting for their support troops to arrive.
Fearless said, “Don’t panic! They won’t be able to move soon!”
“Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!”
Just as Fearless spoke, several black arrows flew from behind him towards his opponent’s shield formation.
“Brother Spring, prepare to throw out a crowd control skill!” Fearless suddenly ordered after seeing the arrows fly across.
“F*ck, do you think that these few arrows can kill their front row?” Spring Halo asked in shock.
The opponent’s front row were all shields. They could even withstand Ming Du’s spells. What could a few arrows like this do to them? This move made no sense.
“Of course not. Just do your part!” Fearless smiled and told Ming Du, “Brother Spring will control them then you can throw your spells over.”
Spring Halo and Ming Du heard what he said. Although they did not know why, they still lifted their staffs.

After experiencing Ming Du’s fire explosion, Berserk Heavenlaw’s players became less fearful. Just several arrows did not motivate them to move.
Berserk Heavenlaw’s front row of shield fighters lifted their shields to block them and to interfere with the arrows’ trajectory.
However, that few arrows were not shot towards the shields. They drew a parabola across the sky and landed less than half a metre from the shield formation, weakly piercing into the ground…
Spring Halo and Ming Du simultaneously closed their eyes… F*ck, whose arrows were these? At least if he shot on their shields, he could at least prove his strength and accuracy. It was so embarrassing that his arrows were shot into the ground.
Seeing how the three arrows landed on the ground, Berserk Heavenlaw’s players were stunned then laughed loudly together. With skills like that, which person still dared to shoot? These lads were indeed as frivolous as they had heard.
However, the moment the arrows landed, Fearless ordered, “Brother Spring, Old Li, use your skills!”
Spring Halo and Ming Du had already started reciting the moment the arrows were sent out. The two of them had completed their recitations and upon receiving the order, they immediately threw the skills across.
Two circles, one green and one red, appeared below Berserk Heavenlaw’s formation.
“Escape!” Seeing the position of the spell on the ground, Wild Thunderheart panickingly ordered for everyone to escape. The front row Guardians instinctively lifted their shields upon receiving the order. However, the system humorously told them, “You have been Silenced…”
“What? When were we Silenced?”
Without the shields’ Hinder, the Guardians were in shock and quickly retreated but the system reminded them, “You have been rooted.”
“F*ck, how is this possible?”
The rooted shield fighters were panicking completely…
“Oh? Why did the front row shield fighters not escape?” Ming Du asked puzzledly as he saw how the shield formation opposite did not lift their shields not move.

At this time, Ling Longmeng snickered in the guild chat, “Numbed. Those b*stards dared to laugh at me. Haven’t you heard of Shadow Bind arrows?”
“Sister Meng, you shot those arrows?” Ming Du asked in surprise.
“Of course, those lads are controlled by yours truly!!” Ling Longmeng said.
“No wonder… Your shot was so accurate!” Ming Du laughed sarcastically.
Ling Longmeng upsetly said, “Of course it was intentional. Or would you like to try?”
Ming Du drawn back and quickly said, “It’s ok, I would not dare to…”
When everyone saw the Berserk Heavenlaw’s crucial Guardians rooted, they started panicking. They did not know if they should remain in the formation or abandon their teammates to escape for their lives.
Everyone had thought differently and hence, acted differently. Some Guardians did not move, some retreated and some self-destructed. At the same time, vines started appearing from the bottom of the formation and entangled everyone within that area.
The cooperation between the shield and spell formations were that the shield formation took the main spot. So long the shield formation did not move, the Magicians would not move. Once Ming Du’s spell landed, the players Spring Halo controlled were in a complete mess.
In just one round, more than half of Berserk Heavenlaw’s Magicians were injured or dead…
Berserk Heavenlaw was indeed a large guild. The remaining players immediately tightened their formation once they saw their teammates die.
Under the spell by Ming Du, only Magicians died. No Guardians died. With the same number of Guardians to protect fewer Magicians, things became safer.
Just then, Wang Yu and Vainglory charged across, one in front of another, to the front of the Guardians in the tightening formation.
Without the shield formation’s help and Magicians’ power to take cover from, the still-loose formation was easily instantly ripped apart by Wang Yu and Vainglory.
At the same time, Ming Du and Spring Halo’s spells landed again. White clouds floated upwards as Berserk Heavenlaw’s forty-odd troop was reduced to only a dozen of Guardians.
Guardians had no power in their attacks and thus, could not cause damage to Quan Zhen Sect. Moreover, their defense were so strong that it would take too much time to kill. As the support troops from Ironcliff Fortress were about to reach, Fearless decisively gave the order to retreat.
“Let’s not waste any more time. Everyone return back to the city!”
Initially, Fearless did not think they would battle with Berserk Heavenlaw so soon. Since what was done had been done, it was not viable to stay there. It was the safest to return to the city either through an airship or the teleportation array.
The others from Quan Zhen Sect had thought about this before coming and it really happened. They understood the severity to offend the largest local guild. Being wiped out would be the least severe consequence. They could even be killed again and again.
At this thought, everyone had no objections and started to retreat. Berserk Heavenlaw’s Guardians were slow runners. Seeing Quan Zhen Sect run away, they did not dare to chase after them but even if they did, they would not have been able to catch up. Hence, they could only watch them disappear.
After running for five minutes, Quan Zhen Sect finally stopped after spotting the Berserk Thunder City’s gate.
“Frost, is there anyone chasing us?”
“No, they did not move.” Frost Blade replied.
“Great.” Fearless heaved a sigh of relief and said, “Let’s retreat first, we need to discuss this.”
“Dear old friends, where are you guys going?”
Just then, they heard a familiar voice. Everyone looked in its direction and saw a large numbers of players starting to surround them. Leading them were indeed, Hidden Lurker and Nian Liuyun.

At The Lions Gate
In the 20th century America reinvented itself. Devastated by depression, scarred by war, rocked by a revolution, Americans banded together to preserve their country and their freedom. They had faith in themselves, faith in one another, and for those who believed…faith in God. This novel tells the story of one American who lived through those turbulent years….years that would test his character and the character of a nation. For Josh Sanders it begins in 1935. A star athlete in school, pro football is a ticket out of poverty during the Great Depression; but when his father, a WWI veteran, is killed during a robbery, Josh’s spirit is broken, and with it his boyhood dream. To honor his father Josh joins the war effort in 1942, distinguishing himself as a fighter pilot, until a fateful decision near the end of the war changes the course of his life once again. But many years later, after a stint as a boxer and a failed marriage, Josh finds his calling…at a time when the country is at war with itself. The year is 1968. King and Kennedy have been killed, race riots are breaking out, and Vietnam has become an albatross, causing massive protests across the country. In the streets of San Francisco Josh watches a crowd of students march for peace. As a veteran he’s conflicted, toward the war and those who oppose it. But when he encounters Rosy Goldin, a spirited young protester in need of help, a voice from the past calls him to action. His good intentions are soon tested when Rosy falls in love with the fugitive anti-war activist Erick White, a young man determined to oppose the war at all costs, against the wishes of his own father. Fearful of what happens to Rosy, Josh confronts Erick, unwilling to be part of his plan to escape…until he meets the boy’s father. A high-powered criminal attorney, Karl White is also a flag-waving patriot demanding that his son follow the law.
