《MMORPG: Martial Gamer》Chapter 619. A Deal

“Enough, Berserk Thundergod is not easy to deal with. You just cheated him 5000 gold coins and now you want to hire Berserk Heavenlaw. He will definitely quote a sky-high price.” Boson said calmly, “See, this is instant karma.”
“Huh? Pay them?” Fearless was not happy, “Why give them money? They should pay us for having the opportunity to hang out with us in a dungeon!”
Everyone instantly understood what Fearless meant. He wanted to use the proof for entry letter as a chip to trick Berserk Heavenlaw.
“Wow, you are really scheming. Berserk Heavenlaw did not offend you and you already cheated them of 5000 gold coins.”
Everyone was fine as they understood Fearless. It was to their benefit to earn money and complete the quest. However, Wang Yu felt injustice for Berserk Heavenlaw as they were once allies. Wang Yu did not have the habit of cheating his friends.
“Did not offend me? Have you forgotten who brought people to block us? Have you forgotten who tried to kill us?” Fearless let out a burst of cold laughter.
“Wasn’t all those instructed by Hidden Lurker?” Wang Yu said.
Fearless shook his head and said, “Do you think Berserk Heavenlaw is stupid? They also do it for their own benefit. If they had more people, do you think they would have trusted my words?”
“This…” Wang Yu didn’t know what to say.
The faction war was triggered by Berserk Heavenlaw’s arrogance. Based on these guys’ character, if they met Quan Zhen Sect when they had the upper-hand, they would ignore Fearless’ explanations and not hesitate to eliminate them.
Back then, Berserk Thundergod and the rest were chased down by Dead Spirit City’s players and their morale had fallen extremely low, so they were more vulnerable. Under such circumstances, Berserk Heavenlaw naturally listened to what Fearless had to say…

In the entire incident, Quan Zhen Sect was chased down without a reason. If it was not for the faction quest, they probably would not even have the authority to explain their side of the story.
Furthermore, it was a given to pay for people’s help. When they were at the diner, everyone saw how Berserk Thundergod wanted to use violence several times.
Wang Yu was mild tempered and hence, was not bothered by these but Fearless’ temper would not allow him to be taken advantage of… It was very nice of him to only ask for money.
“Old Bull, it is not easy to be a professional player. You will be easily taken advantage of.” Fearless advised him out of goodwill.
Wang Yu was too naive. He took anyone he spoke to as a friend and did not ask for money when he offered help. This type of people was suitable to be just a player, and not a professional player.
Luckily Wang Yu had such impressive abilities, or else he would not be able to earn any money.
“…” Wang Yu stayed silent. By then, Fearless had already begun liaising with Berserk Thundergod.
“Boss Thundergod, are you still in the city?” Fearless sent a message.
Berserk Thundergod was angered by Fearless. Seeing that it was a message from Fearless, he did not even bother to respond.
Seeing how Berserk Thundergod ignored his several messages, Fearless cut straight to the point and said, “I have an equipment here that will be very useful to you.”
“I can’t afford it!” Berserk Thundergod saw that message and thoughtlessly replied.
At that moment, Berserk Thundergod was absolutely furious at how a hint had cost them 5000 gold. That one equipment must be even more expensive than that. He definitely could not afford it.
“Don’t you want to know what it is?” Fearless said.

“I have no guts for that.” Berserk Thundergod said. Seems like he was really afraid of Fearless.
“Hehe, it’s something good, and related to your quest…” Fearless said tauntingly.
Berserk Thundergod heard him and his heart skipped a beat, “Really? Don’t lie to me. Send me its attributes.”
“The equipment is not with me. We are with Reynolds in the library. Come and take a look for yourself.” Fearless said.
“Ok, wait for me!” Berserk Thundergod closed his chat and told the rest, “Let’s go back to the library!”
“What’s going on? Go back for? I thought we can’t do this quest?” Moonless Thunder asked puzzledly.
“There’s a way!” Berserk Thundergod said excitedly, “That b*stard from Quan Zhen Sect says that he has an equipment related to our quest and is waiting for us in the library.”
“Quan Zhen Sect?” Hearing those three words made Berserk Heavenlaw shiver as they fearfully said, “Are his words reliable? Could he want to cheat us of our money again?”
Moonless Thunder thought for a while then said, “Although Fearless is very despicable, he is still quite trustworthy. Furthermore, he is in the library now. What if he triggers a background story we had not triggered? This should be quite reliable.”
Everyone had played the game for so long so of course they knew that NPCs were not only tough to deal with. They were also slipshod when it came to introducing quests. If players did not demand all the quest equipments from them, they might embezzle some, causing players to waste their attempt.
Just now Berserk Heavenlaw were busy feeling disheartened after hearing how they could not complete the quests and forgot to trigger the background story. It is possible that Quan Zhen Sect could take advantage of that?
“Shit, could they have the proof for entry to the dungeon?” Berserk Heavenly Thunder said.
Everyone heard him and was fearful. “Damn it, don’t spout rubbish, you are a jinx.”
Quan Zhen Sect just approached them and Berserk Heavenlaw became defensive. If they really had the proof for entry, based on how shameless Fearless was, he would extort Berserk Heavenlaw until all of them became beggars. It was better to pray that it was not it.
Berserk Thundergod had just left the library and was not far, so it took only a few minutes to go back. When they reached the library and saw Quan Zhen Sect, Berserk Thundergod cut to the chase and said, “What equipment? Let me take a look.”
Fearless smilingly signalled to Ming Du and Ming Du smilingly took out the letter while looking at Reynolds deeply.
Reynolds was taken aback by Ming Du’s look and so smilingly looked at everyone then said, “Do you guys have any questions?”
Berserk Thundergod was shocked and retreated a few steps while shaking his head. What a joke. Quan Zhen Sect looked like they were up to no good, and so did the NPC.
“Sigh, I don’t like players who have no questions.” Old man Reynolds shook his head and sighed.
Seeing how Reynolds had nothing else to say, Berserk Thundergod asked Ming Du softly, “What is this?”
Ming Du opened the letter’s attributes.
“Do you see it? I told you.” Berserk Heavenly Thunder said proudly upon seeing the letter’s attributes.
Berserk Heavenlaw’s players stared at Berserk Heavenly Thunder and scolded him on the guild chat, “Jinx, so what if you knew? Who gave you the courage to be this proud?”
“So, dear friends, what do you mean by this?” Berserk Thundergod forgot what to say after seeing the letter in Ming Du’s hands. Just then, Moonless Thunder stood up.

The Last Journey
A slice of life litrpg story... or is it? It's burning slow, though. Moving on: War comes with a great cost. Lives and time wasted for most part. One could either be run with sword, be poisoned, be bowed, and sometimes meet their end with just a tiny speck of wood. With magic, it becomes even more colorful. From lightning, to worse poison, to hovering rocks, to weird bladed leaves, to whipping roots, and to a lot more odd things easily reasoned with magic. A wonderful creation. But once used to something more than wonder, more than tricks to gather laughs, it becomes worse. War becomes worse. For there is not only blood to be spilled. A particular town almost met the same end. Soldiers geared with swrords and bows came with mounts. Horses burning lush grasses as it cracked boulders and the soil alike with every step. The kind that only war ones could ever do. Even strange wheeled creations that oozed danger were towed, loaded with something meant to destroy. But not once had they acted upon what such devices should've done, nor what an an army is supposed to do. Siege never occurred, as much as a command to war. No. Magic existed so a simple little fire is all the worth the town has. No sword drawn, no arrows nocked, nothing. Just some mana spent and through the ash they march. That was how Nudius saw her end. It came not even as a surprise. She didn't have the moment to fully register what occurred before she found herself in an empty dark space. Life lost, time spent. All from a fire that had not even touched her. But she knew very well that it was magic. Something she wished to have and strived for to have. Yet it seemed that none of it would matter now. Nudius was well aware of what the color around meant, of the odd situation, of the unfeeling state of her being. It was death and that was it. She didn't have to worry or dream further. Although there wasn't what she truly wanted in what death to her is, but at least, Nudius was comforted to what she believed death is. Rest. But little did she know there's something more than that empty space. It wasn't only the promise of rest, but was also more than she could ever hope for. Another chance at life. Another chance to dream. ***Tags are there just in case. You never know! Umm... HI-MI-TSU. Story blurb+: This is slow burn, quite slice of life story about a girl learning magic. All the while as she fatten herself up. So yeah, progression fantasy. But there's Litrpg! Numbers! Magic! Spells! And of course! There's something more. But read on ahead, please. Oh yes. Plot! There is, too. Disclaimer: The cover isn't made by me. Just layered it with a text. I got it from a free website, if I correctly recall. I'll see to it. (Haven't worked on it.)
