《MMORPG: Martial Gamer》Chapter 765. Publicising With A Plan

After the birthday celebration, Wang Yu and his wife stayed home for two days and Dong Yunshan taught Wang Yu techniques by personally.
In addition to knowing martial arts already, Wang Yu was already very talented. His techniques were already at a master level too.
There was a saying that goes, “all different means of learning martial arts will achieve the same end”, and as long as you got the essence, every part that came after was easy. Wang Yu used merely two days to master Dong Yunshan’s techniques and incorporated them into his own skills as well.
Dong Yunshan was sincerely convinced by Wang Yu’s combat skills and his talent for becoming the undefeatable legend at such a young age. Though Dong Yunshan was very talented as well, it was indeed hard to find someone who could pick up a martial art technique as fast as Wang Yu.
After two days as Dong Yunshan left, the Wang Yu couple went back to L City as well.
On the way back, the couple had an entirely different feeling from when they came.
When they came, Mu Zixian was scared that the Wang family would disapprove and interfere in their relationship. Now that Wang Yu’s parents recognised their marriage, Mu Zixian had a heavy stone let off her chest and went back with a light heart full of imagination for the happy future.
However, Wang Yu was thinking of something completely opposite. He only had 4 words in his mind: To develop and promote.
It was easy to say that, but hard to put it into action.
Till now, technology had already replaced manual labour, even killing people could be done by a machine. Combat skills could never compare to technological weapons now.
Adding to that, learning martial arts was not easy. Even talented people like Wang Yu had to train hard regardless of the climate. It would be even harder to master it for normal people.

The more important thing is, learning martial arts required money! It was almost impossible to nurture a normal person to be skilled without spending a few hundred thousand per month.
Even though there had been an increase in living standards in China, the whopping population of 2 billion puts a strain on living standards. With an average income per capita of 10,000, the number of people who could afford to learn martial arts was expected to be very few…
During the period where Wang Yu was depending on Mu Zixian’s earnings to live, other than their usual lessons, they did nothing else. They moved less, hence they spent less…
Withstanding this kind of stressful living conditions, to glorify something a lost tradition was not an easy job. Wang Yu’s role changed from just passing on to glorifying martial arts.
From this, it could be seen that Dong Yunshan was pretty smart to pass this great responsibility to Wang Yu and he himself went to relax.
For someone who did not like to use his brain, Wang Yu was very troubled by this great responsibility.
Seeing Wang Yu’s troubled face, the originally light-hearted Mu Zixian was at a loss to know what to do, and just said, “What’s wrong with you? Are you not feeling well? I have motion sickness pills with me now…”
“I am feeling fine. I just thought that I have too huge a responsibility with me,” Wang Yu replied.
“Oh, I still thought something happened to you. The stronger you are, the more responsibility you hold.” Seeing that Wang Yu was not feeling unwell, Mu Zixian smiled and replied. Normal people like Mu Zixian have a different point of view on the same issue.
“You don’t understand.” Wang Yu shook his head and replied, “Kung Fu has lost its value since very long ago. To bring up and glorify this form of tradition is not as easy as it sounds.”

Wang Yu explained his troubles to Mu Zixian.
“So you are troubled because of this.” Mu Zixian responded, “Even though I don’t know martial arts, I was once a salesperson. You have to know that when it comes to publicising something, you have to make sure that everyone can feel the benefits that this thing brings.”
“Benefits?” Wang Yu scratched his chin and asked, “What benefits does practicing martial arts bring?”
“It can make people stronger,” Mu Zixian replied.
Wang Yu sighed and said, “What use does that have, being skilled in martial arts can make you bulletproof?”
“It can make a person have class,” Mu Zixian replied after thinking through.
The confidence presence in someone who practices martial arts was very captivating, that was how Mu Zixian was attracted to Wang Yu.
“Class? That’s too fantastical.” Wang Yu disagreed.
“Strengthening of health?”
“There are antibiotics…”
“Keep a good figure?”
“Some specific kinds of martial arts could make you fat if you keep practising them…”
“Luckily I didn’t practice those.”
…
After a long discussion, the conclusion was that other than increasing strength and mobility, there were no other benefits of practicing martial arts.
“How could it be?” Realising that there were so little benefits from something that he had been learning since young, Wang Yu began to question his life.
Just at this moment, Mu Zixian spotted two youngsters wearing gaming helmets, and she exclaimed, “Oh yeah, Kung Fu can be used in games!”
“Use Kung Fu in games?” Wang Yu was dumbfounded by Mu Zixian’s comment.
Why would someone be undefeatable in their games? It was because of Kung Fu!
Why was it possible for someone to create a top-notch weapon? Because of Kung Fu!
Why was it possible for one person to be admired by everyone? It was still because of Kung Fu!
Even though martial arts had lost its value in the real world, it was still very valuable in the virtual world.
Today, amidst the technological advancements, humans got rid of the busy work life, and have more free time. During their free time, they would feel emotionally empty. The only thing that could fill that void was the virtual world.
Games were safe, convenient, cheap, environmentally friendly, and could provide a second source of income for someone who was good at it. Just > alone contained one-tenth of the entire world’s population, as seen, the population in the virtual world was very huge.
Even though trying to glorify martial arts through games might be a little inappropriate, results shown that this method worked.
“You are so smart, my wife!” Wang Yu exclaimed excitedly.
Mu Zixian was pleased with herself and replied, “Haha, of course!”
“However, how do I publicise about martial arts in the game?” Wang Yu met with a new problem.
For now, everyone knew that Wang Yu was good, but no one knew in which way was Wang Yu good.
Mu Zixian replied, “It’s really easy! Fight in games and win!. If you get the first price, nobody will suspect anything you say.”
Since everyone trusts successful people, if someone who was legitimately successful went to demonstrate, it would be more reliable than pieces of advice from someone who just faked his or her success.
“True! I will win this profession tournament then.”
Wang Yu clenched his fist and made a resolution.
