《MMORPG: Martial Gamer》Chapter 978. Prey Caught!

The Fantasy Goblin BOSS’ Illusion Spell was very scary and had extraordinary range. The entire Middle Street of players were under his Illusion Spell.
Middle Street was already crowded with people and with more Thorn City’s players swarming in, more players were under the Illusion Spell so there were more and more “monsters” on the street.
It was an anarchic situation and in one look, the entire city was filled with monsters that were afraid and excited.
Although the BOSS was at the centre, most prominent location, everyone understood the logic of having to kill the smaller monsters before killing the BOSS, much less since they were Fantasy Goblin. If they killed them, they would drop fragments… So long as they killed one before dying, they would have earned enough.
Therefore, Thorn City’s players and those that surrounded Quan Zhen Sect fearlessly fought one another. Due to the BOSS and a street full of Fantasy Goblins, these players died in the masses but yet, more continued to join them. The number did not drop but instead, increased.
In an instant, the scene on the street was extremely chaotic. In addition to the Fantasy Goblin BOSS’ Prohibition Curse one after another to join in the excitement forming in the background, the world seemed like it was about to fall apart.
Indeed, it was the safest to stay in the store.
Seeing the chaotic scene on the street, Mo Xiaobei and the rest felt lucky as if they went to join them as they wanted, they might have died before they knew it. These aggressive guys out there were too scary for them.
Seeing the shocked expressions on Team Red Flame’s players’ faces, Quan Zhen Sect did not want to enlighten them so alas, the more honest Wang Yu told Rolling Mario, “Actually, this is just an Illusion Spell!”
“Illusion Spell?”
Hearing what Wang Yu said, Rolling Mario and the rest received a notification about the Illusion Spell ending. Looking out once more, the monsters on the street disappeared and in return, they saw players fighting one another.

In the most centre position of the battle team, a short Fantasy Goblin was waving its staff and spitting fire out of its mouth.
“F*ck! This BOSS is too scary!”
Seeing how the Fantasy Goblin BOSS exposed its original form, Rolling Mario and the rest exclaimed.
Although this Fantasy Goblin BOSS’ skills were not deadly, this type of skills had effects as strong as the Prohibition Curse by God-grade BOSS.
After all, in this world, players were the scariest… Skills like this that could make players kill one another were as good as a BUG.
“Do we just stay here and watch?” Mo Xiaobei saw how there were more and more players outside and asked Fearless as she did not know what to do.
Fearless casually said, “We’ll see. Let’s wait for them to tire out then kill the BOSS.”
“Kill the BOSS?” Hearing what Fearless said, Bai Yutang rebutted, “We are here now, how can we go over?”
There were countless players outside and no more space on the street so they could not squeeze through. Under such a situation, it was quite impossible for them to charge across the battlefield to reach the middle.
Not only was everyone confused between who was their enemy or friend, but even Assassins in [Stealth] could have been squeezed flat.
“No worries, we have Old Bull!” Fearless smiled.
Anarchy had to be ended with order.
The players were very adaptable. Even though most of their minds were clouded by the idea of fragments, there were still some clear-minded players. As more players died in the masses, these players became more aware of the BOSS’ strength…
After everyone resurrected, they directly formed their teams again then entered the battlefield once more. Soon after, the chaotic situation began to become more organised and orderly.
Fearless noticed the changes on the battlefield from the beginning. Once he saw that the situation was becoming under control, he smiled gently and told Wang Yu, “Ok, time to catch the prey!”

“En!”
Wang Yu nodded, pushed open the store’ door and ran onto the street.
The players on the street saw Wang Yu and swarmed over to him. Without looking, Wang Yu rapidly climbed up the wall and reached the roof…
Without waiting for the rest of the players below to react, Wang Yu dashed towards where the BOSS was.
The battlefield area was expanded widely by the players so Wang Yu had to run quite a distance on the roofs before reaching somewhere closer to the BOSS. Wang Yu then activated his qinggong and landed beside the BOSS in a few bounces.
Seeing how Wang Yu flew beside him, the Fantasy Goblin waved his staff and began arrogantly chanting his Prohibition Curse, “Stars in Milky Way, Blowing Fires across fields… coughs…”
“Idiot…”
Wang Yu did not have the patience to listen to his bragging so he reached out and grabbed the Fantasy Goblin’s throat, lifted him up onto the roof, leaving the vision of the other players.
Wang Yu flew onto the roof where Quan Zhen Sect had been waiting for long. The second form of the Fantasy Goblin was extremely vulnerable while everyone was familiar with what to do.
After a series of punches and explosions, the Fantasy Goblin BOSS turned into ashes and they earned the five hundred thousand pieces of fragments while the Illusion Spell on the street subsequently was lifted.
The players who were attacking one another were stunned upon seeing who their opponents were.
“This… What is going on?” For most players, this was the first time encountering such a weird situation.
Some were knowledgeable, “Damn, we were under the BOSS’ Illusion Spell.”
Since the BOSS was a Fantasy Goblin, it was very logical and reasonable for him to use the Illusion Spell. Hearing this explanation, everyone was enlightened.
“Illusion Spell! Damn, so it was an Illusion Spell which killed me so many times!”
The players were enlightened but did not feel any better. The battle just now was overly ferocious and everyone on average, died five times. Some died because of this BOSS, some’s level dropped and now knowing that they were cheated, the grievance they felt was inexplicable.
Since they had grievances, they had to let it out. Seeing how the opponent in front of them was their opponent just now, they disregarded the misunderstanding as they were already in a fight so they were not bothered by it. Quickly, the respective teams got into their battle stances, ready to fight it out with one another.
Just then, a voice came from the crowd, “Don’t fight amongst ourselves. This BOSS was attracted by those foreigners. Every debt has its rightful debtee, we need to make them pay!”
“Foreigners?”
Hearing that voice, everyone began observing the players around them.
Those who were after Quan Zhen Sect heard the voice too and were instantly flushed with panic.
In a main city with hundreds of thousands of people, it seemed a lot in the game but in reality, it was not. It was just about the population of a town.
In reality, although everyone in a town could not get to know one another, they knew the names of the clans and villages.
With similar logic, Thorn City’s players had been playing the game for so long so they could recognise the guild symbols of the guilds in their main city.
After intentional discrimination, those foreigners chasing after Quan Zhen Sect were quickly identified by Thorn City’s players.

Delicate as Glass
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Nuri, an [Assistant Glassworker], only has a single Skill. It’s really not fair. He’s worked in the hot shop his entire life, following in his father’s footsteps after his parents passed away, but he’s stuck. Despite possessing above-average talent as an artisan, he still hasn’t shed his [Assistant] status, gained a second Skill, or even leveled enough to reach the first Threshold. Besides, he’s bored; most days he daydreams of adventure and becoming a hero, or pines for the renown that’s sure to be his if he evolves his Class into a [Master Glass Smith], but nothing ever changes—until suddenly, fate strikes, and nothing is ever the same again. These days, Nuri sees more magic, prestige, and adventure than he can handle as he gets swept up in realm-shaking conspiracies and desperate fights for his life. Maybe a boring life wasn’t so bad after all. Disclaimers: 1) Names were mostly chosen through random generators and aren’t necessarily final. If they seem derivative or boring, blame RNG. 2) Skills, Classes, levels, and the entire system is currently a work in progress; please be kind if it’s not very well fleshed out yet. 3) This is the first full-length novel I've set out to write without a single plot point ready. I had nothing in mind other than a recent visit to a hot shop. Molten glass is pretty awesome. 4) Related, I know much less about glass than I’d like. I did some research, but mistakes are bound to happen. If you have a correction, thanks! Please be polite about it. 5) The prose is my experimental attempt at first-person, present tense. I realize it may not be everyone’s preference, but I hope you’ll give it a try anyway!
